A decent password system is adding a random letter or numbers every month/week so a hacker would have to find your full password during that week/month period or it would be out of date. (Phrases also help or changing preexisting numbers to every few months.)

I got back on minecraft and tried to play hypixel after being banned for 9 days for "cheating"(never did anything, wasn't even on for 4 months). When I tried to log in, my password didn't work so I had to reset it. After that, I noticed that my username changed to ImStro. And AFTER THAT When I tried to play hypixel, it said I was banned for 1 year even though I didn't get on for a month and I never did anything bad. AND AFTER AFTER THAT, I joined minemen and also noticed that my skin was changed to a duck. I was so frustrated when I figured out that I was hacked.

it's pretty common in the hacker hood for us to hack accounts, it's really easy, we just steal ur Minecraft id wait for u to go offline and then we get on the server with ur account id which lets us get ur name but also have access to ur progress.

I just got hacked, luckily i got on while they were moving items so i didnt lose everything, but i still lost my 2 best armor sets and my inventory, valuing at almost 200m I put in a report with hypixel support so hopefully i get everything back, im currently flipping stuff if it doesnt work They didnt touch my island, or my storage, only my inv, an extra set of armour, 2 pets, and some cheap talismans

Always scary when people get hacked. Please, PLEASE choose very secure passwords and enable 2fa whenever possible. It takes 10 extra seconds to log in but saves you hundreds of hours of work (advice for everyone)

i was actually hacked sometime in late 2018. i had found a discord server distributing free alt accounts for mc and that kind of stuff, and i had won a giveaway there. it turns out it was actually my account that i just got from these people. the damage had already been done though, i was banned from hypixel for a month and well was just ruined. luckily sb wasnt out then, but they did manage to get me to finally change my password off of "passWord1!". Don't set that as your password. not a good idea. i don't know how they even got in my account or thought of my email to login with, as username logins were not introduced yet (i think) and what would've had them guess that. it really sucks when things like this happen.

I would recommend you to make longer passwords and stronger ones. If you can't remember them(i can't) just get an good password manager or just write it down on an note irl but don't make an virtual note like an .txt file or something. And i would recommend turning on 2FA on every app/ game possible sure it's not faster to llog in but safer!
