I edited a long version of Beatrix' Theme "Rose of May" since the tracks on the soundtrack are too short, in my opinion.

I used to have FF9 on the first playstation as a kid. This was one of my absolute favourite songs. On the third disk, where you play as Beatrix and this theme plays in the background, I set down the controller and moved over to my piano, and tried my best to match the notes for hours until I could play this song. When I finally got back to the game, it had frozen. Knowing I had saved not too long ago, I wasn't concerned when I restarted the console. But, as it turned out, my memory card fried as well. I lost all of my save data. I was quite sad.

Both because Beatrix was insanely powerful and you felt like an unstoppable god and this music just really set the mood.

Beatrix is a top-tier character. Her design visually expresses both sides of Alexandria's kingdom - both graceful and with scars from all the battles and war they made.

Out of all the soundtracks, in any final fantasy game ever invented, this one, Final fantasy 9 is a true masterpiece. There isn't a single song on this soundtrack I dislike, it is absolutely fucking fantastic and really should be recognized as one of the Nobou Uematsu's finest works of art.

Final Fantasy IX is my Final Fantasy VII. It will always be the best game in the series as far as I'm concerned, due to how deeply the story and characters touched me. I don't care if it wasn't the first 3D Final Fantasy game. The story still moves me to this day.

The development of the characters in this ff game is far the best of all series (I include FFVI in this too), honestly, hardly any games have skill to develop a great plot and main characters and including that, a great "villains" distinguished by their motivations and evolving according their circunstances (obviously, I'm talking about Beatrix ;) ), no much games can say this lightly, best games of all series for me.

Sigh... Unfortunately this is so true for me and I'm sure many other fans of the series as well :-( I'm even contemplating on whether to skip 15 since I couldn't really get myself into 12 and 13... Gotta give the developers credit though, 15 does look epic. And let's not forget that FF7 Remake is definitely a must own hahah! I just hope the music stays true to the original Uematsu's scores... I also want a remake with graphics and stuff. Because, I can always go back and experience this gem on psx anytime. To me, seeing the game remade with actual facial expressions could drastically change the effectiveness of telling the story. In all honesty, the story is already very good. If they were to add better visuals it would only get better. It's just so much more easier to convey emotions with better graphics. And that would enhance the game. (Not that there's any thing wrong with it!)

General Beatrix is only one reason Final Fantasy IX is my favorite main series title. The design is wonderful, the story is epic-scale. And let's not forget about the airships! I wish they'd at least do a spin-off about some of the characters.

I really liked this game a lot. The stylized form of the character models with overlarge heads sort of threw me but after I started really playing I fell in love more with the game system. Sort of like how I had to kind of get past the "Gurl power" vibe of FFX-2 to enjoy the game underneath it.

I get why people like 7, but I will never understand why 9 was slept on so hard. Four disks, a remarkably deep story, beautiful music, stunning cutscenes that were on par with animated movies at the time (Vivi's rage and Alexander's summoning were fucking insane), and the lore and world building were excellent.

I had this game on ps1 all those years ago, until my sisters boyfriend stepped on the 3rd disc :( took me years to play it again due to being extremely poor as a child. The game was a Xmas gift. I’m doing a play through currently on the switch.

Ha dang. Yeah, I haven't played it in a while, but I had a lot of fun with it. I didn't level up much or anything, but I didn't find too many of the bosses that tough. I thought fighting Sin took forever because of the crazy amount of HP it had, but other than that the final bosses were fun, but nothing too tough to beat. I just played through Breath of Fire II and I must say I appreciate the FF series because the BoF were so easy. I barely took damage during the final boss.

I think Beatrix, to fit with her character, would start off as a Warrior of Chaos first, before perhaps questioning why she has sided with an evil entity, and eventually (Perhaps convinced by Steiner, or a decision she made herself.) to abandon the side of Chaos, and plea for Cosmos to take her as she had taken Terra.

They are working on fifteen also.. Fourteen was realesed but it was so bad for Playstation and the wanted to remake Final Fantasy XIV for console. They kept FFXIV for the computer and now they are working on fifteen.
