As someone who loves to play video games, I have regrets not playing ones that came out long ago and Final Fantasy 9 is one of them. Maybe I was too young and immature to play JRPG’s or just didn’t notice it since I was still a kid when it first came out. I wish that I could’ve played 9 much sooner. But I’m glad I got to play it now. The experience I had was not only a fun one, but one that taught me the meaning of living. This game reminded me that there is more in life than to despair and that I want to go out and explore the world around me and know that there is always something good I can find in my life if I keep going with a positive mindset. And this song is just a perfect reflection of that. Thank you Hironobu Sakaguchi for sharing a wonderful experience.

When you still remember the story line and the name of each character after 12 years. The story is done right ( or incredibly wrong lol ).
@tigerbang345010 жыл бұрын
I think more than anything, it wasn't so much that the stories were well written, it was that the characters were developed well. Each character had a story that you would find yourself genuinely interested with. They were memorable and you grow to care for them, unlike the flat prototypical JRPG characters as of late.
@mimsydreams10 жыл бұрын
howdareyou66 What final fantasy story isn't a clusterfuck? They all become ridiculously complicated and confusing towards the middle of the game and by the end, you're not totally sure what happened except that you saved the world from some bad guy with a rag-tag group of misfit friends. I agree with ***** that the reason FFs work is because (usually) the characters are so unique and have very engaging backstories that you really start to care for them. It doesn't matter if they are fighting some super complicated bad guy in some incomprehensible plot, as long as you get to keep moving forward in the story with your favorite people. Something that the more recent FFs seem to have lost.

Alone for a while I've been searching through the dark For traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart To weave by picking up the pieces that remain Melodies of life--love's lost refrain Our paths they did cross, though I cannot say just why We met, we laughed, we held on fast, and then we said goodbye And who'll hear the echoes of stories never told? Let them ring out loud till they unfold In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me Though you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name * A voice from the past, joining yours and mine Adding up the layers of harmony And so it goes, on and on Melodies of life, To the sky beyond the flying birds--forever and beyond So far and away, see the bird as it flies by Gliding through the shadows of the clouds up in the sky I've laid my memories and dreams upon those wings Leave them now and see what tomorrow brings In your dearest memories, do you remember loving me? Was it fate that brought us close and now leaves me behind? * Repeat If I should leave this lonely world behind Your voice will still remember our melody Now I know we'll carry on Melodies of life Come circle round and grow deep in our hearts As long as we remember

FF9 is a unique masterpiece and the purest form of J-RPG. It's the moment when Final Fantasy became a mature product, mature enough to create a "tribute game" to the entire series yet with a storytelling and a character development never seen before. The innocence of the design mixed with the philosophical questions raised by the plot makes it that much more enjoyable. This song fits the game so well, it was already melancolic at the time as the whole game was like a retrospective to every final fantasy so far but now that the game is almost 20 years old it really plays with my feelings.

You're already spoiling yourself just by watching this in the first place. People like us who managed to finish the game should be able to freely discuss everything in it in a video like this without any fear of spoiling it for people who haven't played/finished it yet. Furthermore, the original comment was a really beautiful sentiment on the bittersweet end of one of the very best characters in the entire series. It's very appropriate for this video.

I love that even as an adult, listening to Final Fantasy's compositions puts me in a state of nostalgia. I feel warm and happy remembering these games, the scenes, and the lessons they taught me. Final Fantasy was more than just another video game to pass the time - it was a form of story-telling art that actually pulled at your feelings. Lessons came from the triumphs and failures of the various characters that can be applied to real life. It's a big part of why this series will always be special to me and many other fans. 😊

This game has held up better than most due to its unique graphics. This games story may have gone off the rails a bit in the end, but it has some of the most well written characters in the series. Each is relatable and has to contend with problems we all have issues with sometimes. One of my favorite things about this game is that even though each character finds their own way, it's not all happy endings for everyone. Even the main villain is a character that you just can't help but feel a little sorry for. Each individual party member feels like their own person and not just an extension of the main character, I like each for different reasons. I can't say the same for the cast of every final fantasy game. I love final fantasy 7 and I can't wait for the remake, but this in my book is the best final fantasy because it resonates with me. Just seeing all the summons in action is amazing and it awed me when i was a young boy playing this game for the first time. They gave the summons some dimension as super powerful beings and not just summons that show up momentarily and deal damage to your enemies. This game gave the final fantasy series so much depth and character, I hope that future generations continue to enjoy it as I have.
