Runway pieces are runway pieces, the clothes from main COMME des GARÇON line are always beautifully presented.
The pattern on some of the looks remind me of those found on the traditional kimonos. They are like kimonos cut to pieces and then put back together. How lovely!

Right? But i feel like they were cut up and put back together to resemble armor

Unwearble? The models actualy wear them. Just you are not able to wear them in your daily life......Anyway, I'm not sure why people take "wearble or not" so important even on the "SHOW".At least for Kawakubo Rei, Runway is not cataloge or commercial, but it's more like artistic exhibition(In the store they are changed " wearble" of course ).She is one of the few designers who put up a question that the world of current mode goes like bisiness bisiness bisiness..........

You couldn't talk about how much you liked the shoes (they were all white or pale colored tennis shoes) or the handbags (unless they were designed as part of the garment) so you were forced to discuss the garment for a change. I got that Joan of Arc vibe or warrior that was deconstructed in some sort of fashion way. The hairstyles were incredible and gave the garments authenticity. That there was a deliberate message or vibration. Found it interesting. Will watch again.

Works of art maybe, but wearble no. How fucked would it be to spend serious money on these and have people laugh in your face everywhere you turned up. Spot the victim! Does Kawakubo-san even design anymore? I used to think she was the bomb... now I just think, trying too hard. She's lost it! I visit the flagship and the design showroom/museum several times a year. I own some pieces, but come on, even at the weirdest parties these are unwearable and just daft. Not one single person or pleb' in the audience is thinking "I'm rushing straight out to buy that one"! For certain, some of the fabrics are exquisite.Imagine where this label could go if the clothes were actually usable.

+Jono Cheong u r such a butthurt CDG fanboy ugh wat is the point of fashion if you can't wear it??? Morgan makes a very good point that ur too pretentious to understand please educate yourself on haute couture before you try to degrade others you simpleton i bet the only brands u wear are supreme and bathing ape u ignorant fanboy hypebeast away with u i am done

+Chia Hsuan Rei is merely expressing herself though the runway. She doesn't even care if any of you purchases her runway pieces to be honest. What she does is only sharing us with her original and unique aesthetics that no one could possibly exceed. She's been so successful for decades from DSM to so many CDG lines. In a word, she really doesn't give a F what you think or anyone. Cool? so, you guys can all shut up and keep your eyes open.

I'm going to go easy on you whiney little tossers because you sound like children high on your own egos... these comments are like some nouveau riche ranting from kids who don't create anything, yet profess to know everything. You're sad, but the industry is rife with you ninnies. If you haven't met Kawakubo-san or sat with her and discussed dress culture then you don't know what I know. If you haven't been published for your designing and construction in international fashion press then we are not on the same level. If you aren't objective enough to compare her to past greats then you are a sycophant and maybe you don't know enough about the history of dress culture. Calling her Rei doesn't make you her best friend. It makes you impolite and uneducated. Back to school kids! Knock yourself out with the return comments. I won't be reading them. When I see that you've posted it I'll know it's some shit written by you and I'll delete before reading. I'm internet famous! ahahahaha
@stevethwe69228 жыл бұрын
+Jono Cheong I must say Jono, I agree with you on this one. Morgan's statements of his accomplishments/achievements are in stark contrast with the comments he made "When I see that you've posted it I'll know it's some shit written by you and I'll delete before reading." Even though I initially disagreed with you Jono, you have changed my mind on this topic. Its a pity Morgan cannot bring himself to be similarly open-minded and expand his horizons and opinions on the topic of couture. What a waste of a meeting with Kawakubo-san. tsk tsk~
