Numbers with Infinite Significant Figures: Exact Definitions

An exact number has no uncertainty and infinite significant figures. If there are 6 people in a closed room, 6 is an exact number. Think of it as 6.0000000...zeros on to infinity. These numbers are the result of a count or a definition, not a measurement. Learn how to recognize exact numbers and how to calculate with them.

Because there's no decimal place at the end, the 0 at the end is insignificant. Anything from 3275 to 3284.999... rounds to 3280.

Why do they have unlimited sig figures is it because you can have multiple amount after the decimal point of an exact number?

Yes! Unlimited sig figs are objects that are counted whole. It would be a situation in which a fraction of that object makes no sense.
