A 5 cylinder in-line engine running at 500 r.p.m has successive cranks at 1440 apart. The distance between the cylinder centre line is 300 mm. Piston stroke = 240 mm, length of CR = 480 mm. Examine the engine for balance of primary and secondary forces and couples. Find the maximum value of these and position of central crank at which these maximum .....................................i need answer brooo plzzzz

can we solve this question analytically i mean without drawing the polygons pls explain
@EducationLessons5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can... Here is a link which contains theory for analytical method: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJWwg2duoqhpZ9U You can refer these steps for analytical method. But we suggest you to use graphical method only because graphical method is short and easy. While analytical method is lengthy for masses rotating in different planes. It contains more calculation and a single mistake can make your entire numerical wrong. So you should prefer graphical method only for Masses rotating in different planes.

What will be the primary crank angel then if we consider a 4 cylinder engine??
@EducationLessons5 жыл бұрын
If we consider 4 cylinder engine, then we have to take 180° primary Crank angle. (Because 720°/4=180°) For more information watch at 14:10 in this video
