8:12 You wanna know something funny? Sultai ascendancy was actually the weakest one by a mile until Obscura ascendancy was created. Whether it's limited or constructed, Obscura ascendancy (Esper Colors) is by far the weakest and most convoluted ascendancy I've ever had the displeasure of trying out. All of the ascendancys stick to their respective clans gimmick in some way and play decently well in a vacuum. Obscura however is the only ascendancy that has nothing to do with its clans mechanics or goals (The Obscura family was the Connive mechanic which looted and placed +1/+1 counters) AND it doesn't play well besides that fact. You must play a 1 cmc card after it's online to even turn it on.

Sultai ascendancy does not look weak to me.. Somebody said that scry 2 is worth almost a draw card... Well surveil 2 is as good or better.. Well - perhaps with hawing that every turn there's bit of diminishing returns though..

Might still be the weakest in the set.. Abzhan seems stronger than draw a card each turn - 0 mana sorcery that gave +1/+1 to each creature would be at least an OK card and getting tokens for creatures that die is good too.

Ah no - Abzan gives the counters on ETB - not each turn.. I kinda thnk the Sultai ascendancy is .. perhaps stronger than you might think.. In limited digging for lands and bombs can be important..

Hey Kenji! During the last game, is it possible you might have played around kill shot for way too long? And maybe not put pressure with as many creatures as you could? The waiting time because of 1 card gave them time to draw all their main cards... Despite the deck's weakness, I really think a victory could have been viable... Good one, nevertheless!

Well but what would you sacrifice for the kill shot? There would just be not enough power left on the board after that.

@@cerotidinon He literally had the revival in hand for like 5 or 6+ turns. was a huge waste knowing they had kill shot AND destroy creature with power 4 or greater. So what! Attack and revive. 100% could have pulled a win out of that second round. Waiting around for the +1/+1 buff to ALL creatures and the 3/3 delve flyer was a better gameplan? He didnt have faith in the deck from the beginning. That cut all possibilities. IMO he didnt even give Abzan the opportunity it had. Just took random off color mana fixing early. Didnt run the -2 -2 board wipe. He had one of the biggest bomb Abzan 5 drops P1 P1. passed a TON of solid outlast creatures. He wasted a massive opportunity and blamed the packs... Smh this guy is honestly the most arrogant MTG youtubers Ive ever watched... Funny guy, good player (for the most part) but too arrogant and ultimately it was his downfall this event...

Ah, 4 color pile! … my most drafted archetype in the og paper form of this format😅 Of course the goal was to be powerful w/ lots of fixing and just be a good pilot

Sultai (and blue in general) is the weakest in this format. White (and abzan/mardu) is by far the best. I think its a case of Kenji not being as biased as he should be towards where the stronger cards are in terms of color composition.

This format is rough. I feel so spoiled by the sets of today with getting efficient creatures and cheap removal. Playing a 3 mana 2/2 just feels so slooow.

For some reason, I'm not liking this format. I've drafted very good decks several times but not having the success I'm expecting it to have because I always get mana screwed (even though I almost always play 18 lands), mana flooded, or color screwed (even if I have fixing). Not sure if it's just MTG Arena screwing with me or what.
