Aetherling (and Progenitor Mimic, muahaha) is what levelled the playing field between teenage me and the tryhard jerk "that guy" of the LGS who routinely showed up just to flaunt his $5000 (back when Lotus was $2k) Vintage decks. It was the RTR prerelease -- everyone got a sealed pool including a guild-specific pack plus a guild-specific prerelease promo. I roflstomped his carefully-crafted Golgari graveyard deck with my 4c value junk and went on to win the RTR prerelease. Turns out that a BG control deck's removal and deathtouchers aren't great against a sealed pool containing _2_ Aetherlings plus the Mimic. If your real name is DC, sorry for the PTSD, but I'm not sorry for making a sealed deck that's 7.5% Aetherlings or Aetherling clones :p

@@brushwagg7735 I miss my early days of noob magic when Elixir was a "good" card in constructed decks and the actual wincon in a multiplayer-viable mill deck :p

Yeah Elixer with the right angels and whatnot would essentially turn your whole deck into a Progenitus.

@ the most consistent control deck was an indiscriminate pile of the best interaction and card advantage and an elixir, I think. You just answer every opponent’s entire deck until it’s time to shuffle the graveyard back in.

Would love to hear why you don't like Windrider Patrol. I think scry 2 is equivalent to draw ~0.8 cards. Put that on a 4-power flyer for 5, it seems good to me. What am I missing? Is it because of Lyev Skyknight?
