I was hesitant to purchase an open box carseat but it came in excellent condition and saved $35. Box was damaged as stated before I purchased it, but the kzbin.infoUgkxIxQe7nPH74g_xtI5NgiE9-zpGNkfgovw car seat looks brand new and I don't think it was ever used. I will update of course if I have any issues with this carseat but I don't think I will. Also it is surprisingly lightweight, the handle feels secure unlike my previous EvenFlo that was gifted to us. Love it !

This is a dangerous installation guide that gives incomplete information. The user manual explicitly states that using the True Tension door is not enough and is not a belt lock-off. Belts MUST be able to be locked. Refer to vehicle owner's manual to determine if the belts in your vehicle lock by switching the seat belt's retractor or they have a locking latch plate that locks the vehicle's seat belts so they will not move freely. After routing the seat belt through the True Tension you must lock the vehicle belt (refer to vehicle car owner's manual for method or if the belt cannot be locked using one of these methods, contact Nuna Customer Service for a locking clip.)

LOVE the leg extender! Rear facing is a 50 pound weight limit and 49 inch height limit. The average weight and height for a 5 year old is 42 pounds and 44inches tall. So my child will definitely be rear facing until 5 if they are below both limits. I do think kids adapt and find where to put their legs rear facing, but the foot extender is awesome to give older kids a little more leg room since the rear facing weight and height limit are so high and older children can remain rear facing. I think it was such a smart idea on Nuna’s end and will be keeping my child rear facing until the limit regardless if the seat has a leg extender or not. But the thing I hear the MOST from people is how even though their child is still within the rear facing weight and height limit, they are turning them because “their legs seem squished”. I always respond “Better squished legs than a dead child in a crash” (Because honestly it’s your child’s life we are talking about). But now when I hear that I can say “Oh goody I have the perfect car seat for you with a leg extender so no squished legs and now you have no reason to need to turn your child forward facing!” Thanks Nuna! I definitely need to buy this seat! Love the sleek look of it too.

Btw I know you only installed with seat belt but can you install with a rigid latch system? Does it have lower anchor connectors for a latch install?

I just purchased the Nuna Rava carseat and finished the rear facing installation by following the exect instructions. ( Noted I did properly using the rear facing door) However I noticed the forward facing door would make a sound everytime when I push or put the baby on the car seat. The sound is very subtle and it's probably because there is a small gab in the forward facing door even it's completely closed. Is this something normal for this product?

Eli I’m trying to find a travel bag for this car seat and not have to pay the $200 prace for the Nuna travel bag. I already had to buy one for my MIXX stroller. Hi, I am debating on maxi cosi pria 85 and this one, the installation is not a problem, however the main concern is the fit of my baby, she is 2 and still want to keep her rear facing, the britax advocate cliktight that we already have it's not really good for the legroom. We tried the pria85 in the store and I like that it gives her a lot of legroom. I wish I can try the rava but I don't have where around here

Eli, you say "you don't want to tension the seat belt", however in my experience that leaves the car seat loose. The manual states after feeding it in, to pull the shoulder harness so that it tightens and locks. Perhaps you should read it and revise this video.

I agree. This installation video is providing incorrect information. Not locking your seat belt can be deadly. I’d advise maybe removing this video or making a new one.

Hi Eli. I wanted to ask about the comfort of the child while riding the car seat. I have read many reviews on other car seats about mother's complaining that the material of the car seat is too hot (doesn't provide enough ventilation) whether in the fabric or the design on the seat. What are your thoughts on this car seat? Also wanted to know how easy is it to clean the car seat? Haven't had a blow out in the car seat yet but now that my daughter is eating solids would like to know how easy/hard would this car seat be to clean. Will be needing are new car seat soon as my daughter will soon need an upgrade. Thanks in advance.

HI Mrs. K, In general, I find that most of the complaints about heat and car seats revolve around Infant Car Seats. Since you transport Infant Car Seats outside, sometimes in the heat - kids can get hot in them. I've heard that a lot (and experienced it with my own kids). The material on the Rava is super-premium, and since most cars have air conditioning, I think your kid will be quite comfortable in it. As for cleaning, the Rava seat fabric is machine washable so if there is a blow out (and in my experience there always is) - you can just throw the material in the wash (but never in the dryer). Yes, the Rava can be installed with LATCH but it's really meant to be installed with a seat belt. Nuna recommends this because it eliminates confusion of when to switch from LATCH to seat belt installation. The Rava's fabrics that can be taken off and machine washed, though they have to be air dried to avoid any shrinking.

While the Pipa (Nuna's infant car seat) uses LATCH, the Rava is installed with the safety belt! This eliminates confusion about when to make that switch. It also lets the Rava fit in more seating positions in different cars.

I have this seat as well as the Nuna infant car seat. We've installed the Rava rear-facing and reclined as far as possible (but without using the legroom extender featured at the end of this video). With those settings, believe it or not, the Rava takes up *less* space than the infant car seat. We have a smallish car as well, so this was a big advantage of the Rava.

Remove this video and post a correct one before you kill a child. You have to pull the seatbelt all the way out to lock it in tight! You're pointing out a "feature" that doesn't exist, you have to pull the seatbelt, the seat won't stay tight on its own. I have two brand new vehicles and every single one requires that. Come on man, a number of people already pointed that out and all you can say is " ok thanks"?
