Rick! We were the “old people” (your age) who approached Nuno at the VIP “Sound Check Experience” at Hard Rock Sacramento. We told him that we “discovered” Extreme for the first time through your amazing interview (yes, really!) We are long time subscribers to your channel, but I told Nuno that he was the best interview - ever! I also told him that we now have all of their albums & love their music. He told all the other guys right there in front of us, “They found us through Beato!” They seemed very pleased to hear this. All of the guys were very kind, humble, and gracious with all the fans there. They played a great show & they were definitely “all in”. We were so excited to see this latest interview. Thought this interview was wonderful. Rick & Nuno have such great chemistry. Loved him bringing up 8 tracks tapes. I laughed so hard as 8 tracks were so bad. Also brought back the memories of buying a 10 pack of TDK or Maxell blank cassettes so I could record albums to play in my car.

Hope this isn't offensive but I told my wife that your channel Rick Beato is like Graham Norton for myself. It's a fantastic channel that privileges it's esoteric audience with a distanced physicality as if you've just had an encounter with one of your idles first hand. Like playing a support gig before one of the bands you're enamoured with and the guitarist comes over to chew the fat with you. I've had those experiences but your channel is sharing this with a new or old aspiring musician. It's an amazing privilege and so encouraging to see where you've taken your KZbin channel. What a treasure you are Rick.

I never knew much about Nuno and his bandmate. I just really like More Than Words especially since the lyrics were things are would tell people. I never realized that he is considered a virtuoso or near-virtuoso.

What I think makes Mr. Bettencourt so endearing to us fans is that not only does he have NO PROBLEM giving Edward Van Halen proper due as a massive inspiration, friend and to keep his name alive, but he also makes no apologies to anyone for it either. Since 1978 when all of us walked around with that "wtf is THAT??!!" look on our dumbfounded faces from the debut Van Halen album coming out, Nuno never wants any of us.... or even himself.... to ever forget that "wtf is THAT??!!" feeling. The Van Halen invasion is a time-stamp in my life too and one that also wishes it could have continued on a little longer. Thank you Nuno for being, well, Nuno, thank you Nuno for being very human, and thank you Nuno for playing YOUR ass off in your own "wtf is THAT??!!!" inspirational right too. I know I speak for many, but last, thank you King Edward for making our ears bleed and smoke with your ferocious, jaw-dropping and magnificent gifts for all of us to enjoy-- especially turned up to Spinal Tap 11. You are sorely missed and that is another "wtf?" moment time-stamped in my life too. May King Edward shred in peace.

Saw Xtreme for the first time last Saturday (03/10/2024), in St Petesburg, Fl. Living Colour opened for them (I'm actually a huge Living Colour fan, drove 4 hours from Miami just for the sake of seeing LC for the 15th time) I was totally mind blown by Nuno and the band. And on top of his playing, he's an amazing host and master of ceremony. Great show, those guys are on their prime.

Ok let me say one stupid thing... there is something magic happening only on the Rick's channel: two f**ing BIG stars and pros and artists of the music scene (each one in his area) are talking like two school buddies that are crazy for music and rock and gear and records (but with all the know-how they have!). I feel like the way Nuno converses is a window into how his guitar playing works and how his mind and body work together to execute functions. It's almost as if he is discovering what he going to say several seconds into the future while he just allows his voice to carry out the plans that have been made several seconds ago. I would bet that a brain scan would show a highly-developed, highly active hippocampus. Also - Watch the eyes - the eye's are always darting around while navigating through thoughts, which I think indicates that the visual/spatial parts of the brain are being used quite heavily to process the ideas and stories. However, he's still very able to stay engaged with Rick through use of body language even if the eye contact is heavily intermittent.

Nuno’s my GOAT. I’ve got others that I put up there too, but Nuno has always been on a different level to the rest of my heroes. Some friends and I (who worship him too) went to see Extreme by in London just before Christmas. We sprung for the VIP meet n greet, and it was an incredible night. Extreme are just on the money. So tight. Masters of their craft, each one of them. And Nuno’s become a great showman to boot. What a guy.

Hey Rick, (and Nuno)! I have the biggest grin on my face! I just watched this, then immediately went back to watch the interview, and rewatched this again, in one sitting. I love how you guys get along, communicate, and understand the music, instrument or feel of whatever the subject is. I smiled the whole time. Im a 54 year old Virgo, lol. I really.cant play or sing, but I get so into it...the ride, the escape of it all. I have a local cover band that I love, and about 10 years ago, I wrote a thing about them and the 80's music they play.
