I hit that sub button, didn't realize I wasn't subbed until you gave us the heads up, Rick! Anyways, I love these videos- and Nuno is such an amazing, musical guitarist! I'm a Norwegian 1974 model, and I remember my 2 year older friend introduced me to VH when I was 10. I remember it like it was yesterday, he pulled out a cassette tape (a transparent ferro Maxelll one, I still recall) and he said: "Torgrim, listen to this- you've never ever heard something even close to this, it's gonna change your life". We were sitting in my parent's Dodge Van, he pressed "play", and out came "Eruption". I was so blown away by what I heard, and it literally changed my life. From that day onwards, music was all I really cared about. Seeing and hearing the pure joy Nuno projects playing Eddie's (and Dave's) riffs in this video, is just like I feel myself. Grinning on the inside and outside! RIP, Eddie- you are truly missed, but luckily we have guys like Nuno and all the other amazing players that will never allow us to forget what a great musician and composer he was. Peace out, and keep up the good work, Rick! You're a true legend by your own right!

He uses the string scratch as percussion and his leg and body movements are doing a harmony type thing to what he’s playing, almost like he is hearing a full orchestra in his head and playing around them . Totally been mentioned, Rick, but love the way you allow the artist, in this case Nuno whom some of us have under appreciated, but you just allow the “interview” to become a jam session. With some really great nods to EVH and shows that this man can play. You are a consummate professional and showcase “music as an expression”. Thank you Rick! I subscribed to this channel too 😉

Saw him with Extreme in Sydney last year. At the end he thanked the small crowd for supporting them etc, commented about how they’re old old men now etc… he was the bomb in my youth, 30 years ago. He certainly seemed humble after the show, shook people’s hands & thanked everyone for the longest time.

That 'Hot for Teacher' run was majestic. I found Nuno really early in life without knowing it. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was pretty much the first movie I saw in the cinema. It was years later I realised Nuno scored the montage of the historical figures running through the mall. Fabulously talented guy, can't wait to see him again live, if you are reading Nuno....people in Scotland know who you are too!!! We have some venues here!!!

Rick - 40 yr old dad of 3. Plugged back in after about 15 years, after watching you for 3 or so. I think the Steve Morse interview was the lynch pin. My Chops are back and this continues to inspire…. There is a level of candidness and accessibility that you bring to these guys, as a kid if I could have seen that Steve Lukather or Nuno were just dudes like us - I know much of it is to do with the nuggets of gold your guests will leave lying around occasionally. But you set the tone …. (Hur hur) …. The conversation will traverse harmony , technique, creativity , the business… You fill a niche that us with day jobs didn’t know we needed. Between you and Troy Grady ….. sweet Jesus … the internet has a lot to answer for with this round of catching the guitar “bug”

5:53 never underestimate the game-changer that a properly set up guitar can be. It took me far longer than I care to admit to realize how important guitar maintenance is to the playing experience. What always strikes me when he interviews is that Nuno talks about the music. Not about himself, but other artists, the music, the guitar, the technicians. How many of us are fortunate enough in our lives to truly feel that passion for whatever our art may be?

Nuno is such a freaking G! Kinda bums me out that so many of us that were into rock music in the '90's missed out on his amazing talent along with Extreme as a whole due to that one commercially successful "pop" song. I genuinely had no idea what a shredder he is. Me being into the whole Grunge thing at the time probably didn't help.
@thatsamazin-
@thatsamazin- Жыл бұрын
Huge grunge fan here but I was also playing guitar back then and reading all the magazines. That’s why I bought their debut album. He was highly praised in the magazines way before the “more than words” single which wasn’t even the first single off the album. So while many “casual” music fans might have overlooked them, I don’t think very many serious guitarists did. I never became a big fan of the band or album but definitely respect his playing and love his personality.

Nuno is not underrated, in any way, shape or form! He is well known and widely regarded as a guitar maestro. Many folks have commented on KZbin about the excessive use of the word "underrated" due to people wanting to profess their love of an artist and simply using "underrated" as a way to do so.
