It can obviously go faster. I remember multiple analysis came out after the first run. Misha has clocked it on a dry track at 6:38 on a private testing day of Mercedes, which is almost 10 seconds faster than the previous record 20.8 km run. I guess amg doesn't really need a faster time with this car so they don't do an official run for the second time.

Would love to see a 918 comparison lap on current Cup 2 R tires now. The 918 did its 6;57 on Cup 2 "non R" back then, furthermore 10 year older tire tech in general. Would be interesting to see the difference.

My guess was an accelerometer sensor that automatically turned it on above a certain G-force threshold, because you see it come on during turning and braking

The suspension on the AMG One is an engineering masterpiece. This is an incredibly bumpy and uneven track. The 919 Evo onboard looked like it would shake its drivers brain to jelly. The AMG One hardly seems to notice most bumps and stays flat on the roll despite that.

The 919’s suspension has to be that stiff since it has to withstand the tonnes of downforce the car generates - the levels of downforce in these cars stand in different universes

The last attempt was on a damp track so it was guaranteed to have a faster time in it. Breaking the 6:30 barrier is incredible and I knew this car could do it! Congrats to the AMG team and driver Marco Engel!

Yeah especially with energy deployment. After about half of the Lap, you can see they werent pushing full power and were saving for the hangar straight.

3:07 why is it stuck at 270 kph? I know that section is uphill but even GT3 cars with more drag and less power reach 270 there. Out of hybrid juice?

Why is every other comment talking about how one company or another can beat the amg one instead of just appreciating this car for being a masterpiece 🤦‍♀️ yes Porsche might make something faster in the future, there will always be faster cars as time goes along thats just how it goes. for now Mercedes holds the record and that js that.

Not sure, there are illogical times where the flaps popped up, on-throttle. I suspect it's automatic, for car balance purposes, doubt he would press buttons to hamper his speed.

Looks like they are open when braking and turning. Figuring when the wheels are turned then more air is being forced into the wheel wells. When he straightens out then the flaps close. Just my observation.

Viele haben das noch garnicht auf dem schirm wie krass es ist das Mercedes einfach so um die ecke kommt und den Rekord für Production cars einnimmt, und das mit einem großen vorsprung, keiner hindert Porsche daran auch all out zu gehen, der rimac Nevera zum beispiel ist ganze 30 sekunden langsamer obwohl er von den stats auf papier garnicht so weit weg ist

Das ist eigentlich eine Art Prototyp...kein Production car...denn daa Teil ist extrem teuer und nur sehr wenige Liebhaber können sich das leisten...und die Anzahl der produzierten Fahrzeuge wird gering sein...ausserdem kommt das Ding gegenüber dem Porsche 919 evo recht 'langsam' daher...das sind Welten 6:29 zu 5:19

You can see the car was de-rating the electric power on the uphill section after Bergwerk, and on the Dottinger Hohe straight, the car started to decelerate even on full throttle. This is what happen when almost half of the power output is from the battery.

​@@mvpdustin843No. Its 420kW 571hp from the ICE and 450kW from the four MGUs. Total system output is 780kW.

@@mvpdustin843 No, those are the current f1 engine output. The engine they use in AMG One is from 2015/2016 season, which has been detuned so it can last 50,000km instead of ~5000km in f1 spec. Plus 2 additional motors at the front axle. As the guy above said, it's almost 50:50 ratio

Gratulation, sehr gute Leistung. Die Zeit mit teils recht großen "Reserven" hier und da in den Abschnitten. Da sind noch ein paar Sekunden noch drin, aber da darf sich jetzt Porsche wieder abmühen, den Rekord zu knacken.

Der 911 wird das defintiv nicht schaffen. Da wird ne neue Klasse kommen müssen. Das schnellste Auto von Porsche ist der gt2 rs mit einer 6:43. Also muss der 992.2 gt2 rs ganze 15 Sekunden schneller sein als der aktuelle. Schwierig. Vielleicht ein 992.2 GT2RS MR, aber dieser ist ja dann auch nicht von Porsche.

It would have been really interesting to see the throttle and brake inputs, the driver was definitely holding back on the straights. I wonder, just how far can this car be pushed? Impressive lap time either way.

why does the chrono started with the car was already at 94km/h? I expected a record making 21km started with the car parked, stand by. Many thanks to the official notary that has been hired to guarantee transparency. Were also previous world records with other cars made like this? With the car already in movement?

Lightweight Single cluth gearbox THOUGH when it shifts eletric power take over so it doesnt lose any speed at all when shifting and is more efective than any DCT

Yeah definitely areas for improvement and suspension tuning. Problem is as humans we are not consistent enough, so on one lap a corner will be taken a certain way, then the next lap the same corner will be taken slightly different due to whatever factors involved. It will be extremely hard to improve that time now without taking unnecessary risks.

I doubt that they are mapped for every turn but it seems like the speed the close at is not always the same. They could come out under braking and close depending on the energy deployment.

Sind die Motoren eigentlich mittels mapping leistungsgesteigert bei Testfahrten. Und ist die Abgasnachbehandlung deaktiviert für mehr Leitung bei diesen Rekordfahrten. Was wird alles angepasst?

Nein, die Autos sind im absoluten serienzustand, insofern man bei diesem Auto von Serie sprechen kann. Das prüft auch der TÜV vorher. Kannst du im AMG Video zu dieser Rekordfahrt sehen.

I think I read the electric motor takes over during shifts so their in no drop in power making fast shifts less important

Yes it is a single clutch sytem that has torque-fill engineered between gear changes, no loss in power or torque inbetween shifts. Shifts are 'slower' but overall speed (when measured) is faster than any dct. Gearbox is also lighter.
