Then came the violation of the German-Soviet non-aggression pact by the Germans attacking Russia. Now who is right and who is wrong - I don't know. Maybe he Americans and Brits would have been happy if the Germans and Soviets had butchered each other - you never know ! Are you actually informed about what happened in the regions that were given to Poland after WW1 ?

Hess flew to Scotland of his own accord - the British Government did not invite him and nor did they know of his plans - so it was not a "this is Sparta" moment. Also, I suggest you read some WW2 history if you think Hess flew to Scotland "to end the war". Hess flew to Scotland because he wanted to convince Britain to agree to a NAP so that Hitler could proceed with invading UUSR - which Hitler ended up doing anyway. I don't think that counts as wanting "to end the war". The Soviet judges wanted Hess to hang because of this but were overruled by the others who instead agreed to life imprisonment

Rommel was a soldier and strategist who had no direct involvement with atrocities, unlike those perverted megalomaniacs tried at Nuremberg. This was largely acknowledged by the allies at the time and has been consolidated by many historians since. Had he survived the war, it's likely that he would have been tried and acquitted.
