The untoldpast I love your videos on history. The videos are very informative and teach well about history. I reenact the executioner and I study the history of execution and torture methods and devices. I do however want to call this to your attention. That an individual in the comment section is commenting perverse and inappropriate comments. The comments have absolutely nothing to do with the video or content this channel makes. I don’t support people trying to take advantage of others and since I have respect for this channel I would like this person who is commenting horrible things to stop i know that this person who is being gross has nothing to do with the channel I would like to say that I just want to protect others and make sure that this is a safe space to learn from this channel about history. So I really appreciate it if this individual stops trying to make others uncomfortable and stops trying to take advantage of people. Thank you.

These same people are probably Jewish haters and have no respect for the race. I on the other hand appreciate these videos and seeing justice carried out in these manors are very justified no matter how inhumane others see it. The crimes committed by these people are the worst in history murdering 6 million people and any severe punishment is well deserved.

@@davidgrahamscott i don’t see the inappropriate comments or the individual anymore. I think it was taken care of in which I appreciate that so much. But to answer your question I don’t know the person but they had a perverse image as their profile pic on KZbin of a thong which is completely unacceptable regardless. I just look out for people and channels that I fully support and care about and respect. It doesn’t matter who it was as long as it’s taken care of and we can move on and learn about history and have a safe space to do so.

When did Albert Pierpoint, the British executioner take over the hangings, as I remember reading that he noticed that there were 12 coffins, but 13 to die. When he remarked on this, he was told that one body would be dumped in a pit, to which he replied that they had paid for their crimes with their lives, therefore they should be buried with dignity, and ordered another coffin.

@Doctortigger-m1bАй бұрын
That's what was said in the film, @pierrepoint'. If you want the truth, read his biography. He said that they wrapped the 13th body in a sheet. He did not make a scene about the lack of one coffin.

Hanging isn't 'instant death', but it does cause an unsurvivable injury in a jiffy. The brain is functional for quite some time after a broken neck...more than enough time to realize what has happened.

I was told that the man who made the nooses, botched the knotting on purpose. Also, that man is supposed to gauge the prisoners weight etc, for certain adjustments. He purposely did none of these calculations, in order that the men suffer. I don’t blame him.
@thomaskeil14372 ай бұрын
Woods had no training in the operation of death by hanging. He bungled the executions due to his ignorance of a proper execution methods. That he was chosen to conduct the executions was probably intentional although it disgraced the American military because of its incompetance.
@littlebigman69572 ай бұрын
John c Woods was an absolute butcher. He deliberately prolonged the executions. On the other hand, the British executioner Albert pierrepoint was an absolute professional. From meeting the condemned to being deceased was no more than a minute. He weighed and measured every prisoner and the gallows was built to Albert's exact specification.

There was a British hangman as well and also a British gallows which was better made and worked as a gallows should work and I think I am right the British side thought the American gallows was wrong and offered the Americans the use of the British gallows which was turned down and as for the noose I have no idea whether it was the same as the Americans or the standard British one.

@brianhood4182Ай бұрын
The American gallows were too small according to the British so your wrong and like a lot of modern day executions in the USA they don't go well as reported in the American press, as with the Mulberry harbours on 'D DAY' the American harbour broke up after the first storm, where as the British harbour lasted for the rest of the war.
@davidlauder-qi5zvКүн бұрын
Yes, they most definitely suffered. Look at the photos online of the bodies of the hanged. It is clear that they did not die easily. In an interview after the executions hangman US Staff Sargeant John C Woods admitted he had deliberately caused the condemned to suffer.
