Hey I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. Big one, salary he's talking about isn't common. More common salary for cyber security roles, like in a SOC, is a lot less than he's talking about. So that's the biggest con, is depending on the company/job, you'll be on call, and you won't be getting paid 200k, if you're tier/level 1 in a NOC/SOC... You aren't getting 150-200k a year, gonna be more like 40-80k a year. So if you can deal with that in a cyber security role, for a time... (1-3 years) and learn enough and do well enough to move up, you can get to what he's talking about, he's not talking an entry level security role. Cyber security is a great field if you're into that sector of IT, but it's not just... Get some certs and jump into a 200k role. No, MAJORITY of people it takes them at least 1-3 years to get to what he's talking about. Some even longer, some have taken the long path to the field like 5-10 years, working in other parts of IT like help desk, sysadmin, network admin/engineer etc. These days, good path is other part of IT for 1-3 years, then apply to cyber jobs.

If I finally made 150k or higher 😅 I will work even if it’s passed my bedtime or they bug me for something on my vacation. I understand we have work life balance but I can see that anything cybersecurity related definitely asks for some form of IT support. Maybe if you’re the go to guy/girl then yes they will ask you. If you are the senior engineer analyst etc then yes. I’d want that clearly stated before I take on a new role and transparency is key before accepting any type of job.

I'm currently studying in institute and my specialty is cybersecurity (or technical protection of information, as they call it) It definitely seems interesting, despite all the cons (a lot time working, bad for eyes) However, what bugs me is the fact that the degree will be specialist but not bachelor. Which means it will be problematic to continue studying after graduating (Western unis don't really know what is a specialist degree because there's no such thing out there), so I'm also practicing programming in order to be able to apply for various jobs

Hi everyone! I'm a 32 years old Italian girl and I would like to know how to start working in cyber security without having a degree. Is it possible to work 100% remote (I need it because I have a chronic condition) and to have a good salary even without having a degree? I'm asking also because I'm reading some people saying now it's becoming harder and harder to find a job in this field, even when you have a degree and experience. I need every advice, idea and thought you can give me, because Cyber security interests me and I really want to better my life but I don't want mistakes so I need your help. Thank you in advance, and have a great day! From Italy, V.

Seem like a minor inconvenience especially compared to my carrer as a truck driver who work 60-70 hours week and barely scrape 55k CAD$ (40k USD) the reality is pretty much every year is forget your family and friend and Christmas or new year or pretty much having any life for all that matters cause you're gonna be stuck on the road most of the time for weeks with no way home for things you have no control over. Had a revelation of driving trucks don't make sense anymore and It give me hope as to my choice of going back to school this year in cybersecurity if theses are some of the challenge i will face. Nothing is perfect or ever will be but this seem like a good idea to try it out for the working conditions even with the salary aside.

I used to be stationed up north for the airforce working as a mobile mechanic. Sometimes I’d get called out after duty hours to drive 50-60 miles to fix a truck that was broken down somewhere or wouldn’t start. A lot of those calls were because the operator left the truck in gear. Imagine waking up at 1am driving 50 miles just to put the vehicle in park and it starts fine lol. Getting a call after hours working for cyber security for 5x the salary sounds like cake to me 😂

Should I pursure a degree for cybersecurity or will a certificate be good enough?
@techisthenewblack
@techisthenewblack 10 ай бұрын
Hey! Both can be valuable! Consider your career goals, the time you can invest, and the specific requirements of the roles you're targeting. Certificates often offer targeted skills, while a degree can provide a broader educational foundation. It depends on your preferences and the specific job market you're aiming for.

Is it worth it to get a masters in cyber security?
@techisthenewblack
@techisthenewblack 5 ай бұрын
Hey! I don't recommend certifications alone because certifications are not enough to be competitive in the market today. Either a cybersecurity bootcamp, like the ones I recommend, or go to college for cybersecurity. They also assist with those certifications, but certifications are no necessary. For those who want a career as a sales engineer or in cybersecurity, but at a more affordable price, I suggest Leveled Careers bootcamp. It's self paced and ONLY $447 WITH MY DISCOUNT CODE: Cyrus10 Click the link here to sign up and get 10% off with my code: Leveled SE: www.leveldcareers.com/a/2147714608/AVkBGmwQ

Definitely go for it. Obviously you’re gonna have to have your certifications anyways but having a masters and cyber security will definitely start you off of at least 150 K plus.

In my earlier years while residing in Nigeria, there existed a medicinal tradition wherein illnesses were transferred from a person to a black goat through a ritual, leading to enhanced well-being for the individual. Furthermore, I remember a family member who received a death sentence in a particular country (the name of which eludes me), and a ritual was performed on his behalf. Following this, he was deported, while the remaining accomplices were subjected to execution

Wow that's really good to hear, I thought i couldn't do it because of the math. I'm going to really put some thought into it. I'm 30 yrs old and I'm ready for a new life. I dont have no family or a significant other.I've been in really deep thought about my life, my future and I wanna be stable, financially okay. I'm tired of working these 20 dollar jobs and tired of everything that comes with it. I'm not 100 percent sure of exactly what I wanna go to school for but cyber security is one of the careers that cross my mind.
