I spent quite a few years servicing hospital equipment and I noticed that nurse burnout isn’t obvious to the casual observer while the nurses are on duty but when I’d run into them in the cafeteria or after work - that’s when it all came out. It’s a helpless feeling because unless you’re a shrink all you can do is listen sympathetically and let them vent.

Awh, I'm sorry to hear that. I still think bed side nursing is a great career, but it's not for everyone. I hope you can find a new position that you enjoy, that's the beauty of nursing, there's so many different options out there!
