Thank you so much for these questions! Reading is the toughest area for me as I have a word processing disorder. In future episodes, can you highlight in the passage why specific answers are correct? Just as you highlight the correct answers in red, can you highlight in the passage key words or sentences that help to formulate why the answer is correct? It would help a ton. Thank you again truly I watch these videos everyday ❤️

@platinumgossip2690
@platinumgossip2690 4 жыл бұрын
Queen latifah I wouldn’t say it was very hard but please make sure that you study the science section respiratory system, endocrine system and the skeletal system. You will also need to know about the kidneys as well. The reading was easy for me. You will need to know how to distinguish from a theme, topic, and main idea etc. For the English section make sure that you study the prefix and suffix section for word meanings that will help up out a ton. Math make sure that you know the metric system if you don’t. It’s really basic math. I took it the first time and made over the score that I needed to for the BSN program!!!!If you have any more questions I’ll be happy to answer them for you.

Queen latifah I used the ATI TEAS study manual 6th edition. I also purchased an ATI TEAS bar chart to just study when I didn’t want to use the book. I studied for around 4 weeks on and off but I would say you need at least 6 weeks to study. I also downloaded the ATI app to study on and off throughout the day.

I am so excited, I will take my TEAS Exam on June 3rd 2022. I appreciated your time and effort to introduce us with this questions and passages to help us pass out Teas Exam. My overall grade was 9 of 10. I am hoping to pass this exam. My quickness is math and English because is not my native language. I would let you know once I passed. God willing.

I am so pleased to hear you are taking your TEAS exam very soon. ☺️💜 I would love to hear how you did on your TEAS exam as I am sure you will dominate it. Make sure you take the time to really study both math and English since these two areas are not your strongest compared to the others. Take lots of question practice tests to help with that as I can see you are already doing ☺️ You got this!

Thank you so much for your videos. I did not get the grade I needed to apply to the nursing program last time. My main problem is time management in the Reading portion. I get all the questions correctly when I'm not scamming through them. Do you have any tips on time management?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you find the videos helpful! Time management can indeed be a challenge during the Reading portion of the ATI TEAS. Here are a few tips to help you manage your time more effectively: Practice time-based exercises: Set a timer and challenge yourself to complete a passage within a specific timeframe. Gradually reduce the time allotted to improve your speed and accuracy. Skim before reading: Quickly skim through the passage to get a general idea of the content and main points. This will help you focus on the most relevant information when you read more carefully. Highlight key information: Use your reading time wisely by highlighting or underlining important details in the passage. This can help you quickly locate information when answering the questions. Prioritize the questions: Start with the questions that you find easier or those that require less time to answer. This will help you gain momentum and build confidence as you progress through the section. Pace yourself: Be mindful of the time and allocate a specific amount for each passage. If you find yourself spending too much time on a single question, consider making an educated guess and moving on to ensure you have time for the remaining questions. Remember, practice is key! Continuously practicing with timed exercises and mock exams will help you become more comfortable and efficient with time management. Best of luck with your preparation, and I hope you achieve the grade you need for the nursing program!

Me reading all passage and being a slow reader gives me no time and eventually run out of time. Is there a guide to just track main idea without reading the entire passage?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 4 жыл бұрын
I would highly recommend reading the questions before reading the passage. Most of the time, the question will ask for information from a specific paragraph or sentence. This will help maintain time and focus on what the question really wants to know. ☺️

Is it better to read the question then answer the question? Instead of reading the whole passage?
@Foodiegaal
@Foodiegaal 4 жыл бұрын
Hi hi. I’m not sure if you’ll read this or reply :/ but I am in need of help. So I’m not sure if you know who Carolyn McAllister is? But I’m following her tricks on main idea. She said main idea is always the last sentence of the first paragraph? Topic sentence is in every first sentence of every paragraph? I did her tricks on my practice test on nursehub but got all my answers wrong LOL. I’m not sure if it’s me but her tricks didn’t work on nursehub.... could you clarify if this is the smart way to go on my actual test? I need to know ASAP because my text is next week. And if I’m following this trick, I’ll be getting all them wrong.
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't necessarily agree with the first and last sentences. Theres been evidence that this method doesn't apply to all cases. I would highly recommend knowing the difference between topic sentence and main idea. Which topic sentences, you have to ask yourself who or what is the paragraph about? What is the author trying to teach me about? As for the main idea, you have to ask yourself what does the author want me to know about the topic? Main idea is usually implied main and will not be stated directly. I would highly recommend practicing as many test questions as possible to help main idea and topic sentences. I hope this is helpful in your studies. ☺️

Main idea is the big picture it’s broad yet specific.
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! You are absolutely right about the main idea being the big picture and that it can be both broad and specific. In fact, understanding the main idea of a passage is crucial for reading comprehension and answering questions on the ATI TEAS exam. By identifying the main idea, you can get a better sense of the author's purpose and the overall message they are trying to convey. This can help you better understand the details in the passage and make more accurate inferences when answering questions. 😊💜 I'm glad to see that you have a good grasp of this concept, and I hope that my videos can continue to help you prepare for the TEAS exam. If you have any questions or specific topics you'd like me to cover, feel free to let me know. Thanks for watching!
