Thank you Nurse Liz for this video. I just passed my FNP board exam this Saturday. I used Liek and Hollier’s AV as my review materials plus FNP mastery. I think 3-4 weeks of dedicated studying is sufficient to learn the materials. Here’s what I saw on my exam: Gynecomastia - spirinolactone Morton’s Neuroma How to diagnose: anemia and leukemia Hemolytic Anemia Chlamydia treatment for pregnant women HF Systolic murmur Hirschprung disease Test for strabismus for toddlers Anticholinergic effects Coumadin treatment and InR for first time dvt patients Acute bacterial prostatitis Ethical dilemma for a terminally ill child Dementia Copd treatment Metformin Sign for Rotator cuff Cluster and migraine headache Macrolide abx Rash post viral infection seen in kids Skin diseases - pytiaris rosecea Tender points for Fibromyalgia Fasting glucose Hepatitis B and Hep Igg Acute hepatitis Leading cause of death for women Lateral epicondylitis Patellofemoral syndrome Meniscal tear PCL/ACL ligament tear test (Posterior and anterior drawer test)

@MizzBri184 жыл бұрын
I've been watching your videos for the past year and just realized that I wasn't subscribed!! I have my exam coming up in a week and am concerned that I have not been studying enough. I did the Hollier live (virtual covid edition) the 2nd to last week in march. I had been using the fitzgerald book to study and for practice questions for course exams since January. I also felt like the fitzgerald book was too much info to go through. My exam prep started a little over 6 weeks ago but not very structured due to me and my young son being quantined together for 4 weeks for covid. I feel like that was a major setback and I am a little worried about how well I will do on the exam. A co-worker who recently passed recommended Leik to me about a week ago and my practice exam scores have really improved. I guess my question is how did you know that you were ready and adequately prepped for the exam? Also, I have been having testing anxiety since the covid pandemic began; What can I do to help put myself at ease during the exam?
@NurseLiz4 жыл бұрын
I for sure didn't feel "ready" but I knew that I had gone through all the material and had done all the Leik and Fitzgerald practice questions. I figured that there was NEVER going to be a point where I knew absolutely everything, but I had done a ton of studying and reviewed it all so I just went for it. But I don't think there's ever a feeling of "readiness" ya know? I am also no help with being at ease during the exam because i was hyperventilating haha. sorry!

Hi Nurse Liz. I was curious, how did you break up your studying time while using Piccmonic for pharm review? Did you do abx for a few days, then antihypertensives for a few days, etc? Did you review ALL of pharm? (There is a lot)!!
@lizwiebe40224 жыл бұрын
After going through a review book, I'm wondering if taking lots of study questions for the FNP AANP exam is a good strategy. It worked for the NCLEX to just go through lots and lots and lots of questions and rationales. Would you say that might work for the FNP exam or should I work on studying more content and later questions, but fewer questions in total? I mean still a lot but not use that as my primary strategy. Thanks!
@NurseLiz4 жыл бұрын
It's definitely helpful to do questions because you can read the rationales, but the NP board is definitely more content based vs the NCLEX that really was more geared toward logic and how to take a test. The NP boards didn't try to trip you up with weird wording. It was much more straight forward.

I absolutely would NOT do the course twice. That sounds like a really big waste of money in my opinion. Sounds like your school is trying to have the review course do the job of teaching you. I did find it helpful to buy a review book (around 50 dollars usually) while going through the core classes. But definitely not a review course.

Hi, i love your channel. Question. Is there a question bank to study while in NP school?
@NurseLiz4 жыл бұрын
You could get a study book for boards and do questions from there

How long did you study for?

Hi Liz, how many hours of study did you do before the AANP boards? Trying to figure out how much time to budget

Liz, I do not work much with social media, instagram or posting comments on youtube channels. Is it possible for me to reach out to you personally with questions I have regarding my FNP program? Thank you!

Easiest way is definitely Instagram messages! If not you could email me at nurselizyt@gmail.com but I’m definitely not the best at checking that I admit 🤦🏻♀️😬

@@NurseLiz Wonderful! Thank you! Unfortunately, I do not have instagram, but I did send you a lengthy email :/

i tried the free sample app and found the questions to be the same as those in the book. Were the leik questions reflective of the exam? I was going to buy the code separately but didn't feel it was necessary just to have the same questions on my phone. I take my book everywhere lol
@NurseLiz6 жыл бұрын
They are the same as the book! The app is helpful if you don’t have the book on the go but if you travel with it then no need

@@NurseLiz I just purchased the app for 70 dollars, does that sound correct? with 732 questions or so. I hope I bought the right thing. Thanks

Just scheduled my AANP exam for next Thursday! Nervous is an understatement!! :( I just passed a comprehensive exam last week that was required in order for me to graduate, so I was on a high with that! They say usually if you pass it, you can pass boards, but of course I'm still freaking out :/ I attended a live Hollier review in January and have been studying her guide for the last few months and doing Leik questions as well. Everyone who's graduated recently from my program suggested to go ahead and take the exam as close to that comprehensive exam as possible since it's SO hard, but part of me is still so afraid!

Fingers crossed for you! I remember the sheer panic I had before that exam oh so well. Make sure to give yourself a break the day before the test. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Hi CJ how was your test?? I’m taking the ANCC in three weeks and I’m freaking out! Was it as hard as you thought and what content would you say to study the most ( Everything) right?

Hi Liz, studying for ANCC exam. Did you have a study schedule? Im having a hard time creating one
@NurseLiz6 жыл бұрын
Nikki Nurse get as much crammed into my daughters nap time as possible 😂. Towards the end I set small goals like 2 systems a day. But mostly I just studied during nap time. I’d say 1-2 body systems a day, studying at a similar time of day would be ideal! You will kick that exams butt!

We’re you able to balance this and work as a new grad Rn? Anyone with this experience???

I don't have experience in this situation, but hopefully someone does!

It is doable but you have to stay disciplined. Doing schoolwork, working full-time and doing the clinical rotation all at the same time can be stressful. I had to switch so many days with my co-workers just to accommodate my clinicals! Good luck :)

Thank you for your videos they are so helpful. I graduate in 10 months, do you think it is too early to start with Leik and Hollier? Haven't decided which certificate to test for yet😊
@NurseLiz6 жыл бұрын
nancyhertl2013 I would wait until 3-4 months before graduation, that way it’s still fresh in your brain! But if you think you can remember it now then go for it! For me, I would forget it all by then 🤦🏻♀️. Best of luck on your final stretch! You’ll be done before you know it!
