Thanks for showing Sam's plants. He had a wonderful place, we talked at his place just before the lava. His place was so breath taking. Happy you have some of his work. Looking forward to being allowed to get some. We always stop everything here and watch your videos.

How do you tell the difference between so many similar-looking species and cultivars and hybrids?

Wonderful update. So glad to see something different like this. Oh a new greenhouse will be cool. And love the focus on nepenthes this time. That's a cool plant Dominik sent you. I like his plants. I hope some of those cuttings will go on sale soon. I got my peter d'amato from you. I hope it will do well for me. I have it under an led. I posted a video about it if you want to see. Those benches look great. I'm off to watch the other video. I am in need of some good benches.

The video is instructive to see some of the plants vs the static pictures on the website. Maybe make a more complete video catalog. It was interesting to see the differences in the sarracenias in this the greenhouse for example.

It must be amazing to have a job like that! I'm thinking of starting my own business with carnivorous plants. I judt don't know how many plants I need before I can sell some :P

Very cool!!! Just love all those plants!! I've only been into carnivorous plants for about a year and absolutely love them. What I'm wondering about that wonderful bathtub-pond is are the plants ever in danger (assuming not but wondering why) of getting overly watered or rotting? Do all (or most) carnivorous plants like constant water? I have 2 king traps and 2 cape sundews! Thanks for that video!!!

What kind of fish do you keep in the bathtub? Also how are you keeping them alive without a filter adding oxygen to the water?

Nice to see new vids again. Have a question. I have sown "Sarracenia leucophylla 'Brown & Green Veins' " don't know what it really is, can't find pics on the net but seedlings are now weeks old. Can they stay outside it's zone 7-6 here or need to come in during the winter?

Normally when sarracenias germinate from seed in the wild, they would germinate in the spring because they've gotten cold stratification. They would then have the rest of spring, summer, and a bit of fall to grow mature. By the time they reach winter, they would be mature enough to handle dormancy and cold temps. Since your seedlings are weeks old and only have a few months left to grow before dormancy hits, i would suggest that you have 2 options. One, you could let them proceed through dormancy and leave them outside, but if you wanted to choose this option, i would suggest that you take some action to try and protect them a bit more from the cold then you would for more mature sarracenias. Maybe try mulching, or placing them in an unheated garage, and also pay attention to weather forecasts and protect them from prolonged frosts. The second option, would be that you could grow them inside for this winter under strong artificial lighting, and by the time we reach winter of next year, they'll be mature enough to stay outside. I personally try to grow them inside for this winter, and if you dont have artificial lighting for plants, just try to give them as much sunlight as possible. Their growth will definitely be slowed by the lack of light, and they might grow a bit wierd, but i'm they could make it through. This is just my suggestion, I urge you to go around on some online forums like flytrapcare forums and such and maybe get some opinions of others. I'm no sarracenia expert, but i have a decent collection of sarracenias and I like to think that I know what i'm doing. But anyways, good luck with your seedlings!

Good stuff! regarding the new 20 X 60' greenhouse -- guaranteed that in a few years you will wish you went to the slightly more effort to build a 30' wide (with some trusses so you can do some hanging baskets)while you are at it... :)

Is that Hawaiin nursery that got hit with lava rebuilding? I would donate to help them do so.

What a shame you were so rushed. Maybe in future wait until it's cooler to video. The camera didn't even have time to focus.
