Hi MC, I just want to ask for an advice . I will be taking up nursing leadership and management in Seneca college this jan 2021. I'm also taking the NCLEX (new york) when I arrive there in Canada. In case I will pass the NCLEX, are u still going to advice me to take up the year 2? I also have a safe practice since I'm currently working as a staff nurse in a hospital here in the Philippines before I fly to Canada. 🙂 Btw, Thanks for your videos. It's very informative 🙂

Amazing video. The only thing is IENs either applying in a different province or not fulfilling the 400 practice hours criteria, meet a dead end while watching this video. For example, I am still clueless if the 400 practice hours in Canada are comparable to 2600 hours/year of clinical practice back in one's home country. Can you please clear theses queries too? CNO is still easygoing compared to other provinces regulatory bodies.
@studyliveexploreca
@studyliveexploreca 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Amrit, I got confused on your question, This video is mainly for International Students who wants to get RN programs in Ontario. If you are getting your license in Ontario, the Rn programs mentioned on the video has a clinical hrs component, so they can renew the safe practice and get the Ontario license. Most provinces will require you to have 1560hrs/yr for the last 5 yrs (home country or Canada experience) to transfer the license to different Canadian province. I only suggest to practice on the province where you got your license and obtain 1560hrs to have the smooth transition and make sure you dont have any gap on your safe practice before moving. Different province here has different rule, Ontario has the lenient one so far.

Is there chance for me to go back to Nursing in Canada? How long and what program would be the best option for me? Thanks and your reply will be greatly appreciated.

Aren't we suppose to complete this NNAS process while we are in our home country? Because NNAS will require information from where we have initially completed our 4 year bachelor degree in nursing, our parent licensing Council in home country and we will manually have to take these forms to these institutions and make sure they send our transcripts and everything to NNAS...

Hi, in general that is no problem. Most important is that you explain in your SOP why you are changing your field. I have some info on how to write your SOP here: www.studyliveexploreca.com/study-plan-sop

I'd like to take a graduate program in Nursing. Is this possible? Do you have any suggestions of schools to apply to? Preferably cheap schools or scholarships. Thank you

HI, I would check that with NNAS www.nnas.ca/ Best sent them an email with about your plan. They do the transfers from other countries to Canada. If you have no nursing degree yet, might be better to start of in Canada right away then you don't have the transfer process, which can be quite costly and time consuming and might ask to take extra exams or bridging programs.

@studyliveexploreca
@studyliveexploreca 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your feedback! 😀 Yes Nursing is competitive that is true. (But Nurses are still in high demand). If you have nursing or any related experience, that will help you to get in. Also attach a well written statement of why you want to study nursing with your application and your resume. etc. Some colleges like Northern Lights College and Keyano College seem a bit easier to get in, but still competitive.

Hi MC i watched one of your videos about study permit where you mentioned that you have to prove to the VO that you don’t have plans of staying in canada after graduation. it won’t be applicable for nurses studying and want to be RN after right?
@studyliveexploreca
@studyliveexploreca 4 жыл бұрын
Having Canadian RN license won't not only limit you to be a nurse in Canada. You can always go back home, and practice what you learned in Canada, after all, you still have you local license, but you have better understanding of evidenced based nursing here in Canada that could be used in your home country. Focus on the skillset not just the jurisdiction of your Canadian RN license. Hope its clear :)

Yes - you can apply while studying and after school while your RN license is being processed, you can work as PSW for the mean time. And then once you have the License, they can usually promote you to RN :)
