It's ridiculous the amount of online nursing schools and the lack of confidence from physicians and patients in us. And.... this is why. I hope this get more standardized for the accredited programs as well.

@Maria Gloria Just say "I haven't passed yet." Don't take it as a failure but see it as a learning opportunity. There is a lot of power in "Yet"; you are telling yourself that you will get there and that your eyes and heart are still fixed on your goal.

You should cover the rock bottom standards by which NP schools gain accreditation. Some have 100% acceptance rates, there’s no standardized education (unlike medical schools, PA schools and CRNA schools) they don’t help you find preceptors nor are they required to (in the majority of instances) and in some cases, require as little as 500 clinical hrs, no prior nursing experience, AND still expect that you’ll be able to function safely as a provider!

This is such great information!!! it is not something I personally even thought about when I attended nursing school over 20 years ago. I just knew the school I was attending with a large University. It was well known and others that had a graduated the nursing program, so I can definitely see how someone could be unaware of the value in the impact of accreditation.

Funny thing I didn’t know about national accreditation either, I also went to a large reputable university and they had a 99% pass rate. I graduated in 2010, most ppl don’t know these things. I really need everyone to be aware before applying to some of these schools. Thanks for watching

Some schools only have regional accreditation but are on the list of approved state programs. always check if it is on the states approved list. Some schools have probationary status. They will stay that way until the schools pass rates increase. My school was seeking CCNE accreditation but was on the list of approved state school.

Excelsior College is not accredited by the ACEN or CCNE, but they're accredited by the Middle States Commission on higher education. Would you recommend it?

Some schools without national accreditation still enable you to take your boards. New schools tend to seek accreditation afterwards. I was able to take my boards.

Actually, any credits earned at a Nationally accredited institution will not transfer into the College/University system. There's a difference between the schools accreditation and program accreditation. This matters when you decide you want to further your education at a college or university and learn that none of the Gen ed classes you paid to take at a nationally accredited strip mall program count. You have to retake all those classes, out of pocket because you used your financial aid already. These nationally accredited programs can get you to were you want to be, but there are limits if you decide in the future to pursue more or different tracks.

Heyyy sis. This AAS in Nursing program I was looking into is accredited by NLN CNEA. Is that a real thing? I know most AAs are ACEN. I believe it stand for National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation

This information is something that all potential students should be aware of before choosing a school. I, myself went to an unaccredited school, did my homework, did not want to be on a waiting list, worked hard to pay out of pocket, and I must say I was well prepared, passed my ncex, 75 questions, 1st try. Just do your homework, it seems like because of the recent scams, that people have labeled all Flotida schools. Don't be lazy, take your time and research, not all are bad.

I graduated from a non “ national accredited” school. I passed my nclex. However, I am now not able to find a school that will allow me to pursue my BSN. Does anyone have any recommendations of an accredited program that will accept my non accredited transcripts to enroll as RN-BSN? Please share

Most of the nurses learned on the job do you believe that nursing degree should loosen the academic requirements and focus more on clinical care?
@fromcnatonp
@fromcnatonp Жыл бұрын
Nope, not at all. There still need to be standards that need to be upheld didactic wise, but I do think that more time need to be spent hands on with real patients and clinical hours.

I can learn "On the Job" how to insert a foley catheter or how to IVP a medication, but without the proper education, I will have NO CLUE as to the why. NO CLUE how to assess the efficacy of the treatment, etc.
