Hey friends. We just found you and are loving your content. We are a small homestead in southeast Georgia. We grow about 80% of the veggies we consume on our 1/4 acre homestead in the middle of a subdivision. We have an egg layer flock and do meat chickens a couple times a year. Thanks for the education on the hydroponics! I've been doing hydroponic tomatoes for about 8 years and can think of no other way I would like to grow them! See you soon!

Doug is a man on a mission to finish the beautiful leather work , keep all the farm and transportation running good as new :) all the plants are happy as ever . CSA get your bins ready for the good stuff only a few weeks away from greenhouse to table .

Flame weeding is the use of intense heat, usually produced by a propane torch or other fuel-burning device, to kill weeds. This organic option for weeding causes the water and sap inside the plant cell to boil and expand rupturing the cell walls and causing the plant to wilt and die.

Thats a great idea. Doug uses that around the pool deck and it works great

Those tomatoes and cucs look amazing. Really cool how you guys have things set up so well that a few seconds added or reduced can make the difference on your plant growth! Doug is a friken MacGuyver!! I think he can do anything! Any way we can get your beef Wellington recipe? I have never made that before. I don't have a herbicide for the mint, but I do have a suggestion that will get rid of all that mint quickly. Invite all of us subscribers over for Mojitos .... that will polish that mint off in no time! I'll bring the copper cups! Happy new year!!

good idea on the drinks! So, check out Chief Jean Pierre on KZbin. A really great French chief and fun to watch. I used his Wellington recipe, but I did not make the crepe which turned out fine. Here is a link to his Wellington. chefjeanpierre.com/recipes/beef-wellington-recipe/

Try straight white vinegar on the mint. I have used some of the acid for my ph. Tank to get rid of stubborn weeds as well.

Since you are not growing in the soil were the mint is, boil up a huge amount of water and soak it real good so you get the heat penetrate into the ground, it kills the roots and all living tings in the soil. Do this a a few square feet at a time. - Just cook the ground, roots grow too a depth of 12-15 inches.

Love the Beef Wellington at the end! I couldn't get rid of mint either so I am with you there. I have been wondering what the spacing is in between your bato bucket rows. It looks like the first row is closer to the wall but the rest are further apart. Thanks in advance! Love the channel ❤

I learn so much from you! I got my shipment of Bato buckets in from Crop King and have some cucumber and tomato ready to plant. I know watering is driven by the plants needs-could you give me an idea of what your baseline watering schedule looks like? Right now I'm running my flood and drain system (world's skinniest greenhouse!) 3 times per day for 5 minutes. Is that even close to what you run? We are in SC, zone 8B.

so we are running through the pressure emitters and the times are on for 1 minute every 25 minutes. i think yours will work just have to watch the plants. we have found in the Bato buckets more often is better than longer times

Vinegar should help with the mint. Try with regular strength vinegar, otherwise try 15% or higher.
