i really don't understand why forging can't be done without human. why can't just robot do all the moving the metalwork stuff?

Oliver Usher what if every company incorporated robotics in manufacturing? How will ppl get jobs. Does govt of any country can guarantee financial security to public. Millions will go hungry. Families depends on their sole breadwinner.

It is possible to replace humans with robots for this purpose. However, the investment required to meet that need is sometimes more costly than employing someone. For example, a good quality robot cost at least 30k dollar to buy and with added expense of installation, programming and maintenance. Note that the cost of robot is one time payment which means a capital investment. Many forging processes are highly automated. Given the price of robots and their limited ability to adapt to new products as quickly as humans, humans become the preferred method of producing some products.

They can and they do in some areas, but robots are only profitable in large scales, small batches or custom parts are much cheaper and simpler to just use a human

@@comprehendnature2404 Robotsarent fiscally profitable for products with short runs because they have to be reprogrammed with every changeover. There are some jobs that are better done by humans. When the product is too large to be handled by a human, and the production run is stable then it is fiscally useful to use a robot.
