@@HolyknightVader999 Starkiller Base was slightly smaller than our moon, which has a diameter of 3,474 km. The question is, why did it have an atmosphere? The answer is simple: When asteroids, planetoids, and planets reach a certain size and mass, their gravity can hold and trap different kinds of gases. With the help of their molten core, geologic processes are created, giving birth to volcanoes and a magnetic field. These factors together lead to the development of an atmosphere. The only scientific and logical reason why our Earth's moon has no atmosphere is that it lacks the mass and gravity to form one. Additionally, the moon lacks the geologic processes required to produce volcanoes, gases, air pressure, and a magnetic field to contain an atmosphere. A good example of moons with active geologic processes and a strong magnetic field is Titan and Pandora in the film AVATAR. These moons have enough gravity and mass to hold a thick, breathable atmosphere.

In Star Wars, there are indeed massive ships, stations, and structures, both ancient and new. However, when you compare the scale to Warhammer 40K, it's on a whole other level. In 40K, we're not just talking about one or two gigantic constructs, but a multitude that are even mass-produced, spanning both ancient and new designs. Even the most infamous Star Wars constructs, like Death Star 1 and 2, Starkiller Base, and the Centerpoint Station, don't even come close to the colossal structures in 40K. These structures aren't just large; they are incredibly durable and strong, capable of cracking a planet upon impact. For instance, a Blackstone Fortress, an ancient station made of hyper-advanced metal and black stone, which is half the size of Earth's moon Luna, was dropped onto the planet Cadia, a military fortress world of the Imperium of Mankind, and caused it to crack. Additionally, the Necrons, an ancient race, built numerous planet-sized mobile stations and planet-killing machines known as World Engines. The leader of the Necrons even constructed a larger ship-like structure containing a cache of their knowledge, history, and downfall - essentially serving as a mausoleum and museum of their race, as well as his personal ship.

@skalgrimfellaxe57965 ай бұрын
@@nikkotan2840 ah, but thats also a misconception, Glorianas are not standardized even from the start. Some that were built at the same ship yard were pretty much copies, like the Vengeful Spirit and its sistership the Harbinger of Doom (built at Mars for the Luna Wolves) , while others, like the Shadow of the Emperor (Raven Guard) or the Flamewrought (Salamanders) were built very differently from the start. The Imperium "can" build ships like them, the issue is rather that in 40k its no longer possible to build the massive generators and reactors needed for optimum efficiency at the same ship yard. The forge worlds have become specialized and hoard their knowledge so the combined knowledge needed to produce every critical component for a massive ship like a Gloriana can no longer be found in just one spot. There is also less of a need for such vessels as the legions are shattered. Under the supervision of Cawl and order of either a high lord or a primarch Im sure they could still create new Glorianas. They would just have to strong arm the Mechanicus pretty hard to do it.

Depends on which lore for SW and if we are talking 40k pre-or post Indomitus crusade. SW legends just before Endor or in an AU were the Empire wins at Endor vs pre-Indomitus crusade IoM; I think the Empire has a fighting chance, due to having better communications, faster FTL, research and development and shipbuilding. Especially if we go for a more ‘natural’ first contact, where the IoM’s slow and imprecise communications and FTL work against them and the Empire’s advantages in those areas allow them to scout on the IoM for years, if not decades. As this will allow them to gather intelligence and build up their forces further. When it comes to ground forces, the Empire can counter the IoM’s greater numbers by increased recruitment, Spartari cloning cylinders and droids. The only issue I can see would be the the Empire isn’t the best when it comes to tank designs, but those can be fixed. Likewise, titans and knights, while a threat can be countered via massed conventional heavy weapons and new anti-Titan vehicles (basically, think the SW version of tank destroyers). Additionally, SW has more accurate orbital bombardments, which would make the titans massive targets from space. As for the SPESS MARINES…putting aside the issues the IoM often has with getting them to properly coordinate with the rest of the military and not going off to do their own agenda…I would direct your attention to the Phase 4 and 5 Dark Troopers. While they wouldn’t be quite the match for a Space Marine in combat, they would be within sneezing distance and most importantly, the Empire can make them more easily and quicker then the IoM can make Space Marines. Assuming the GE doesn’t just jump the sun crusher into the Sol system and make the sun go supernova and take out the heart of the IoM in one shot.

Lol cyclonic torpedoes won't be able to crack open planetary shields the way a superlaser can. Also, regular ship turbolasers can glass planets. Oh, and by the end of the Sequels, the Empire has mass-produced superlasers mounted on souped-up ISDs.
@HolyknightVader9995 ай бұрын
@@yoannbelleville7763 Because 40K fans think it's the same. They think Exterminatus glassing a whole planet is the same as Tarkin destroying Alderaan, when it couldn't be any more different. One is the planetary equivalent of setting something on fire, the other is the planetary equivalent of disintegration.
@thorshammer78835 ай бұрын
Not exactly the same thing in terms of powerscaling the destructive potency however. As planet vaporization is far more powerful then surface destruction or cracking continents apart to make the surface uninhabitable. One is in the zettatons and yottatons of force while the others are in petatons and exatons range. I would more pit the Death Star against the UNSC's NOVA bomb which does almost the same exalt range of potent planet busting yields as it does.

My english isn't very well. Thats why i wrote in german.

You need to be specific on which empire, because the older empires of the star wars universe would dominate warhammer. One empire, pretty much better built most modern star wars species, they are geneticists that built animals like the tyranids, there's no way that they couldn't use their powerful force abilities and their knowledge of genetics to completely force tyranids to their will

I personally don't like EU/Legends as it just throws too much silly stuff and with all the secret projects and forces the Empire had that ALL failed, just make the entire setting and the Empire looks idiotic

Speranza seems laughably way too big for golden age humanity. Halo’s forerunner who could snipe golden age humanity didn’t even have ships 1k-km. Only stations should ever be that big like I could only imagine what the station that would be needed for resupply that abomination would have to be. I would also have to say if it’s that big what other faction as a similar size.

The star forage was comparable in size to a star that could build trillions of soldiers and ships within weeks. The empire that had it, their typical fleet was over ten thousand ships and had trillions of eyes ground soldiers. This is not ignoring the fact that they had thousands of fleets. The star forge was also known for building super weapons. So if you had one star forage, you could completely take Webway
@blooddixmond3 ай бұрын
Star Wars Power Levels destroy warhammer, modern halo, Star Trek, etc easily. the entire combined nuclear arsenal of Earth would be considered absolutely trivial by Star Wars standards-our strongest weapon ever made has a single-use explosive yield comparable to what a point-defense light turbolaser puts out per-second. Even starfighters in Star Wars have laser cannons with yields as high as kilotons. For example, the axial turbolasers mounted on the Allegiance-class Heavy Star Destroyer and the main armament of the Bellator-class Star Battlecruiser and Assertor-class Star Dreadnought have maximum yields of 720-teratons. But they can get even higher, too. Heavy planetary turbolasers such as the w-165 planetary turbolasers, as well as a few ultra-heavy turbolasers such as the spinal-mounted siege gun on the Munificent-class Star Frigate and Recusant-class light destroyer have yields measuring in the single-digit petatons

It seems you are not as nerdy.In star wars as I am as I love both the warhammer and star wars universes. And I have spent many years learning about both of them, collectively star wars is a better and more chaotic world. The problem with the imperium of man is that it is smaller and not technologically as advanced as the typical species within star wars. The imperium of man only has a million worlds, the galastic empire, at its peak, had at least six billion. On top of the fact that Star wars has multiple species and some of them produce fast enough to pretty much become the death core of Krieg. The typical weapon of a genocan fighter.It's a sonic blaster that melts your organs with the sound waves, and that's just their typical bit of technology. Accept, they find it easy to produce large.Weapons and ships, if you gave them all of the resources, they could build something the size of it. The death star that could sonically melt a planet's atmosphere and feature all living organisms within it. The star forge was a ship comparable to the size of a star, which it fed off of, it would create billions of soldiers and ships a day, creating an entire fleet, which could contain up to fifty thousand ships at a time within a week. You underestimate the general power Star Wars has because it has access to the entire Galaxy of star wars. On top of the fact that we know some things about the other galaxys, and we actually have ways to get from the star wars galaxy to the closest one next to it for trading. We know about seven of them, do you really think the imperium of man can go against people that make up? Seven galaxys have weapons that can shoot across galaxys having the ability of two closely teleport, as well as actually having the feet of killing gods. Because in star wars, people have killed gods
