I love my 154CM folder. Great steel. Tough enough, sharpens easy, pretty good edge retention, and good rust resistance. This is a knife I would love to own.

I just watched a video from one of the guys who makes Bark River knives and he was talking about the Bravo-1. Designed with recomendations from members of USMC Force Recon who were using the original version called, (I think) the field knife. I just found these knives recently myself, they are awesome lookin! I really like the looks of the Bravo-1. Looks like it has some heft to it I hear razor sharp out of the box. My next blade! I really like your videos bud, good work!

It is very nice! Not a bad price either. I bought one, and I am thoroughly impressed with it. I really like the blade shape. And the handle is extraordinary. I highly recommend one. Everyone who has held the blade ends up wanting one. I want to know what Nutnfancy thinks of it.

I've found if you bolt the handles together while shaping it makes it easy to stay off the inner edge and also allows to match the 2 sides very very closely. Great review!

Between this review and the Sykcos review, there's a ton of kindling on a mountain somewhere out west. :-) Thanks for these reviews. I don't know much of anything about knives, but I'm learning through your great videos. I've already incorporated a Spyderco Tenacious into my EDC system because of your videos... now for a good, multi-purpose fixed blade.

Hi Nutn, since I started watching your knife reviews 2 month ago, I've spent 2000+ dollars on knifes that I have no plan or place to use, especially here in China where we have to register ID numbers for buying kitchen knifes, buying US made knifes is super hard, I get ripped off by importers all the time, like spending 250 dollars for BM 940, which makes me mad every time, but anyway , I enjoy all the reviews you put up here, wish more cool things come up , appreciate your hard work
@razorspoon11 жыл бұрын
Say Nutn. How do you feel about knives that have blades made of softer steels that are used for survival knife? I mean that in the sense that you would be stuck in the wilderness indefinitely. The thought on it is that a softer steel is easier to put an edge on with a rock you find out where ever you are.

Not CPM154 but rather in A-2 tool steel the Blackjack Tac-Ops 8 series is the same design also created by Mike Stewart. I own both the BRKT STS and the Tac-Ops and love them both. I do tend to beat on the A-2 carbon steel a bit more and worry about it less. I do find the Tac-ops handles a bit more comfortable for the average chore. There are still a few out there. Most STS have been sold out for a while.

POU = To kick ass at killing wood. Though I prefer the drop point 3V, S35V and A2 variants... In other words, the Bravo series, ideally the Bravo 2. And, yes, they mill out their full tangs to save on weight... it is just hidden by the handles.
@Player_Review9 жыл бұрын
Collectible, yet I'm going to beat the shat out of my green micarta Bravo 2 in A2. Yeah, it cost $207 on sale, but I'm not going to just look at it. BTW, it curls receipt paper out of the box (no micro-bevel).
@TheOnlyRatDragon11 жыл бұрын
You might want to check out the Bravo series from Bark River. They're probably more your speed and the 2 is in your preferred size.
@GabeMacDonnell10 жыл бұрын
Why do the screws on the STS-8 protrude so far from the handle? Big ergonomic miss, just like the sharp handle. Bark River usually does better on ergos, though their handles tend to be too small for me. But then, i think a Bk-2 is comfy!
@tacticsurvival72789 жыл бұрын
You every tried to stipple the handle scales boss? The same way many people do their clocks, Ka-Bar Becker scales, etc. I think it would look awesome on that blue G10 handle. Cool way to create traction as well as give a personalized feel to the blade.

Awesome! Some superior convex edges! I think the Bravo series are even better. They will make a Bravo 2.5 and a Bravo 3 later this year. In 3V steel, which I think is much better outdoor steel than 154

How do you oil tang of the knife? If It is pinned and cannot take the scale apart to oil the tang. Wouldn't it rust under the scale?
@midwestcoastapiculture67779 жыл бұрын
+Sara Chen The handle scales are epoxied to the blade steel when they're constructed... unless the epoxy breaks down (I.E. total knife failure) there's no way for moisture to get behind the scales. Same with the wood handles. Also, they use bolts, not pins. I own several, in several steels, and have never had nor seen nor heard of any moisture under the scale problems. Give them a try-they're amazing, and, if there's something you don't like about the one you receive, BRKT is usually no-questions about reasonable modification to suit your needs and ergo... you just cover shipping costs. I recommend the 3V steel... worth the extra $$ for what I do.

I love my Bark Rivers - FYI kniveshipfree is closing out a line called blackjack that is made by Mike Stewart of Bark River. Great deals on excellent knives, not a $30 Kbar, but maybe $100 off the cost of a Bark River for an excellent knife. Check the tac ops series - very similar to the Bark River STS. No affiliation except my tacops 6 just came in the mail :)

@maxcoseti11 жыл бұрын
If the STS-5 weights 9 oz then it's really lightweight for what it is IMO, take the CS SRK: 8 oz, just 1 extra oz gives you a .270" thick blade vs 3/16" plus the convex edge makes it cut like a thinner blade. On the other hand I'd rather have more belly, but as you said, the knife's a fighter
@sonnyna38019 жыл бұрын
I dont understand why my kydex sheath scratches the blade. Everytime it goes in the sheath it comes out with a new scuff/scratch somewhere. Really pisses me off.

They do in movies! But I have noticed "Zombie stuff" is usually neon color. Hornady Zombie Defense rounds (yes I bought some during firearmageddon) have a neon green tip, my Ka Bar Dozier Zombie is neon green (but I bought that for visibility). But no, zombie's do not exist... just a few random people strung out on bath salts that decide to eat someone's face.

hello mr. nutnfancy it is a honor to oost a comment on one of your vids, but I have some paticular knives for you to try out so I can have a true and honest feedback about the knives. the two knives are the ones that joe teti uses in dual survival, which is the surv-tac 7 and the second one is the Tops firestrike fs46. that would be really great to see those two knives in your hands and just abuse the living crap out of them to see what you think the knives
