You make me spend so much money. I love all your reviews, and trust your judgement. Spent a ton on those case knives, picked up some really nice ones. Now I have to get these! I have been collecting more knives since the gun bans in NY.....

Coloration gives it a sick look! Crinkle finish is amazing for wood blades, the crinkle is much more durable than a smooth plain black spray over.

Travis is spot on. A light backpacking saw + big blade is the combo we use in TNP, have for years. I like the axe but they still have downsides: weight, harder to split with, needs good foundation for the log (try it in 6 feet of snow as we've shown here). I some situations they are excellent.

I've been a Busse user since 2001 or so and the more affordable Scrapyard is hard to beat. Res C is tough stuff, it laughs off DEET and that stuff about thm puncturing is not a big deal. I have had a bit of that, if it really bothers you, you can heat it a bit and fuse it. I use it as is. Don't forget Busse has a lifetime guarantee, use it, abuse it, it will be there for your grand kids. Great vid as usual Nutn!

I've found that a good bore solvent will remove the sap from a crinkle coat, if you want it removed. We live in similar environments, so we likely encounter the same sap. I'm just on the other side of the mountains (Colorado).

been into sykcos for a few years. and just got the exclusive 1311. started delving into busses. but decided the value wasn't worth it and went back to sykcos only. I just ended up selling of some busses to fund purchases from Guy Seiferd over at Survive! knives. he has awesome value knives that surpass the busses. I think his GSO 10 knife had potential to be a HoF blade back when he had them preorder priced at 165. anyway. Sykcos are just fantastic values

Lots of people use the word Alpine to refer to the environment and in this case, specifically the trees you find in higher altitudes. I would use it to refer to higher altitudes which are above the normal deciduous treeline in any mountain range for example. Just so happens Aspen is deciduous but you get the idea. :D
