Your blue plate is upside down:) the little sides thingys should stick upward and its flush up against the steamer

I used it for the first time but after I was done steaming there was something brown that smells like caramel in the steaming plate is that normal?

Yes! I had that happen mostly when I steamed sweet potatoes. I would just wipe it after

I used soap and water to clean the steamer plate but I don’t like scrub it if that makes sense lol I’m glad you love it! My daughter is 16 months old and we still use the system
