How to sterilize location of the filter to avoid contamination from the previous sample? Is it enough to reform the burner and flushed sterile solution?

Dear kpecak, to avoid a cross-contamination you can decontaminate the filter base (location where the filter membrane is placed) with a well working burner for approx. 5 seconds. After this please wait for a while that a newly placed membrane doesn’t fuse to the filter base. Then the funnel will set and the buffer will provided to the funnel. This cools down the equipment. A flush with the buffer before adding the sample is also possible to cool down the equipment.
