Some proponents of the carnivore diet claim: carbs are poison, vegetables are highly suspect, and meat alone offers humans an opportunity to "thrive" once again. Some nutritionists warn it could be harmful in the long-term, but plenty of converts swear by the health benefits.
Food and nutrition scientist from the University of Newcastle, Dr Emma Beckett talks Ange Lavoipierre through the pros and cons of all-meat diets.

To be fair, her point that a research is cunethical if its proven to be unhealthy and/or unreasonable based on evidence is absolutely legit. Evidence always beats observative studies, though most of the time evidence is used to verify or debunk assumptions based on observative studies. The problem is, the evidence she refers to is terribly outdated, and has been completely reverted.

Our ancestors had a diet strict on fish, shellfish, meats, berries, fruits, poultry, roots and eggs, so we can try and get those ingredients mainly. On a broad level, it's important to remember that it's impossible to accurately imitate the diet and lifestyle of our Paleolithic ancestors. We can base a diet loosely off what we know, but some experts are concerned that some paleo dieters have "misguided perceptions of health and weight benefits" of this diet.

Bone isotope studies have proven we evolved as hyper carnivores for millions of years and have evolved very little since. This makes an all meat diet the evolutionary correct diet for humans. Since we've started plant agriculture and moved further from our evolutionary diet the sicker we have become as a species. And the best thing: Once you reach retirement, and lack the physical activity of your job routine, the western diet does a pretty decent job at shortening your remaining life-span.

@wonderfulgood2010

Scurvy: It occurred in the British Navy when they decreased the meat ration and replaced it with grains such as rice. Prior to that, the seamen on the British Navy’s ships had no scurvy problems. It was only after the rice replacement that we had to add citrus to the grog…hence our nickname “limies”. Sad how this nutritionist was taught to teach 1950s doctrine. They have degrees and yet nothing useful to say. Sad to watch.

There is no such thing as too much saturated fat. Saturated fat only goes bad if you ingest carbohydrates. You get all the Vitamin C you need from muscle meat and you also get most things vitamin c is used to synthesize such as collagen and carnitine, the things that actually lead to scurvy if you lack them.

Maintaining balance in life is crucial. As a former dedicated vegetarian, I can attest to the numerous benefits like reduced LDL cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and decreased risk of hypertension and type 2 diabetes. However, occasionally enjoying meat can be satisfying, and that's perfectly fine! The key is to exercise regularly, eat a balanced diet, and consider incorporating supplements. These include multivitamins, probiotics, fiber, fish oil, and Tongkat Ali - I prefer this over Fadogia Agrestis, as it is 100 natural, clinically backened and safer for your liver. Actually sailors kept plenty of meat on board. Salt beef, pork, fish, ale, and biscuits. Generally stuff that could last between destinations. I imagine fruit didn't last very long on those ships so of course they succumbed to scurvy often. One famous remedy that actually worked wonders was drinking Mojitos; which back then consisted of rum, mint, sugar, and lime juice. Another remedy was Grog, made by a sailors named Old Grog in fact. It was water, lemon juice, and brown sugar. So yeah you need some citrus. 🍋

We have brains, experience, and an abundance of evidence in our personal lives from a disappointing sick-care model and this is border line an offensive response because of how low-quality and assumptive it is.
