The rule about animal fats is extremely important. I tried carnivore with mostly very lean chicken meat, and then had to switch to much fattier beef & pork meats and chicken eggs, as the lack of fats left me feeling unwell. The improvement was immediate.

Regarding "No foods from the plant kingdom," what are your thoughts on plants merely infused into water? Such as coffee and various teas (black tea, rooibos, ginger tea, cinnamon tea, etc.)? Also, have you found that ground black pepper is often a problem for people?

I don't know who coined the phrase,but I think of it as a Carnivore Mantra: Eat when Hungry - No Snacking. Reveals the Pros; learning to distinguish real pangs of hunger, and the cons: recognizing "snacks" are purely psychological - tricks of the brain. Carnivore; simple but not easy! 😁

Thanks Judy from England, UK. Your Carnivore Cure book is fantastic. Keep up your excellent work. You have given me hope to reverse my IBS and mental health issues. Is coconut oil the best plant oil to use for lightly cooking my 90/10 ground beef? My gut doesn’t do well with rendered animal fats. I have IBS but find coconut oil in the past has improved my energy and cognitive function. I do eat beef, lamb, liver, kidney. I don’t do well with dairy, ghee, eggs.

Mercury is in the fat of the fish it stores in the fat and is to be avoided in excess can cause serve neurological damage however large amounts of well chewed cilantro or EDTA will help cleanse from your system . Salt isn’t an issue for carrying mercury because there is no liquid like suspension to carry it with the salt.

@@marianking1379 I had a very light case of COVID-19. Thankfully my only symptoms were the horrible headache, fatigue and loss of taste/smell. My husband also had the virus and did not have any symptoms other than fatigue! He is not carnivore, or keto but is very low carb. He’s lost 45 lbs I’ve lost 35 in the last 18 months. We are on a lot of vitamin D as well as other protocols for Health , he takes a mega dose of D because he’s been following a man who swears by the results, my says it is why he didn’t lose his taste and smell.

@@priscillababbitt6967 that's absolutely great, lm a fan of vit d also. Good that you are doing so well on carnivore. I am also carni. Feeling painless, but sadly having trouble losing my last 10 lbs or so. My husband is doing carnivore now after my nagging!! I mean encouraging him, he's type 2 diabetes and has lost 7lbs over the last 10 days, yippee. He's even got goals now saying he will be down 14 lbs by June, his bday. He did add he would celebrate with a cream donut!!! One of his little jokes 😂😂😂 keep going.... Thank you Judith for your advice and inspiration xx❤️

I'm confused that you recommend no supplements. What about vitamins and minerals that aren't in meat, like magnesium (which we used to get from the soil) and vitamin D? In another video you talk about iodine and selenium. I'm hypothyroid so I've added that as well.

Judy, you may want to do your own research, but the grass-fed beef has been proven to be an excellent source of Omega-3 fats (some of us just don't like seafood)

Good intro tips. I know you're trying to keep it simple but I would prioritise awareness of good/bad fats more, even for starting because it's my understanding that this would help a great deal.

I was wondering if you recommend a minimum and maximum amount for daily meat/fat consumption. Say eating mostly moderately fatty beef in grams or ounces per pound of ideal body weight. Maybe accounting for a few categories: a minimum amount for sedentary, elderly people to maintain muscle mass, a maximum for folks looking to lose weight/burn fat and stay in low level ketosis, and maybe a minimum for those wanting to increase muscle mass. I know the easy answer is chew well, eat slowly and eat to satiety but that only works if you’re not adding any carbs or flavorings that boost hunger during the meal. Thanks a lot. Hope to hear your opinion some day.

Two things : Elizabeth Stern - long-term #carnivore - lost weight by 1. increasing her meat intake from 2 to 3 lbs, and 2. removing salt. As I have been Carnivore for 2years ( dairy-free for nearly one year ), and am still 'overfat' (size 16, when used to be 12-14 Australian sizes) and have not lost more than a couple of centimetres, I am considering following suit.

@@NutritionwithJudy thank you. It's so confusing! I don't have metabolic disease (my LCHF GP can't find anything 'wrong' that would be stopping me losing fat - even did an IGG FOODPRINT test, which told me to steer away from eggs (!) , and beef was right on the edge!). I now just eat grassfed beef, free-range chicken & pork, and fish/seafood. I have Meniere's Disease, and take Betahistine, but have not found any evidence that the medication is keeping me fat. I despair, as I think I am doing *everything* right!
@mikesutton69362 жыл бұрын
Therapeutic Keto is 80% of your nutrition (calories) from fat... Many channels talk about your ideal protein and a simple 2:1 ratio of Fat:Protein... I found I could not lose fat until I was eating more fat! ... Just a thot

NEEDING something sweet sounds like a sugar addiction (mine is)... Current research indicates ALL sweet tastes trigger insulin and according to Ben Bikman T2D is about insulin, not glucose

For as important as fat intake is it's really frustrating that it gets glossed over with just another quick blurb that it's important. Would have taken 2 to 3 minutes to give a guideline or ratio, but again no. Love your content otherwise but holy cats I've yet to find a video that addresses the fat requirements specifically and to the point.
@jennybtx2 жыл бұрын
That's because it's different for everyone. If you are hungry eat fatty meat. Eat eggs if you like. Stay off the carbs. Then tweak it if you need to.
@mikesutton69362 жыл бұрын
Rule-of-thumb used by Dr Colgan (expert on proteins) is (ideal?) body-weight in pounds times .7 That's the min daily protein grams Therapeutic Keto is 80% fat calories, so Fat grams is double that
