It saddens me. Just seems so odd in 2024. May not have figured everything out but between what the Bible gets wrong and all the horrible things in it, just seems there wouldn’t be anyone into that anymore. Guess it doesn’t matter much unless they try to indoctrinate our children.

Nothing safer than a bible and a suppressor in the same pouch. Cognitive dissonance if you ask me.

I have to say that I do thank you for showing a bag that has been more than casually tested for a month or so like I see a lot of others do. I always find it annoying when someone complains that the leather is stiff and they haven't even tried to condition it or use it as a dedicated bag for more than a short time.
@PhotoCaptured
@PhotoCaptured 2 ай бұрын
@memyselfandi1300 as I decide what tools to review and hopefully provide useful info for others, it's always something that I have used extensively and know the ins-and-outs of. Thanks for the nod, and hopefully I can share some more good info on things I get good use out of! Regarding the bag, I actually have only conditioned the leather a handful of times with Leather Honey (product name). It has taken care of my riding gear, jackets, and even the whips I make. The best tools and gear always require some break-in time, and a month long casual review just isn't going to cover that.

That is a well thought out kit. A lot of time and love has gone into it. Thanks for sharing and there are some good ideas there. A couple of things I would add (just thinking) are a multitool (I have a Leatherman ARC in a belt sheath) plus some minor support. I have a small adjustable wrench and a small Knipex pliers in my EDC kit that I would put into this. I would add a couple of Zeiss lens/glasses cleaning packets. Uncle Billy's Sliver Picker plus a small nail clipper (Victorinox -- careful, they are sharp), a couple of bandaids and a small tin with some ibuprofen, benadryl, and a dose of Rx meds would be useful as well. These are exceptional bags. The duffle works very well and so does the tote.

@nvrumi great points! Some of those additional tools you mentioned I carry on body, and not in the bag. Leatherman Wave+ along with an 8in standard screwdriver, and a lens cloth that fits in my wallet 👌
@nvrumi
@nvrumi 14 күн бұрын
@ When the ARC was released, I retired my Wave+. I bought a sheath from Clip & Carry for the ARC (had one for the Wave+ that worked very well). For folks who pick up this thread I’d add a caution when using the Wave/Wave+ - I learned to wear gloves when using the tool because it will pinch the #$%) out of you when using the pliers. The ARC does not have this design feature! I have the items I listed, with exception of the Leatherman, in a small tool roll and a small Vanguard pouch. I found those were too much to carry in a cargo pocket, so they are in my pack. I would move those items into my EDC satchel (if I had one). The pack is fine in the field and certainly works in the 4Runner, but is a bit much for EDC. The satchel would solve that problem. I’m going to work on this because I am actively looking for the means to carry a small tablet (currently a Surface Go 2 with keyboard cover), my bullet journal (currently a Lochby Field Journal, but will be a Leuchturm bound journal next year), my regular journal (currently instance also a Leuchturm, but also could be a Rhodia), a small pen roll (softly fountain pens), and then support items like your list. I have a Nutsac Tacsac 13 for the SG2, but with it fitted with a laptop sleeve and a double admin pouch there is not enough room for my journals and other EDC items. I currently have a NET Bible on the iPhone and iPad, but truly eschew reading on screens for significant time. So,, having a paper copy in my EDC kit or on the Kindle would be preferred. But there just isn’t room in my current setup with the Tacsac 13. (Aside: The Tacsac 15 works well for a MacBook Pro 14” or the work computer, as n ROG 14”. But there is only room for the computer support equipment and a couple small items as noted previously.) I love that you carry a copy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Those are vital American documents. I LOL’d at the suppressor in your kit. It’s a good idea and I need one for my daily carry. In all, I’d way well done on your kit. You gave me a number of good ideas on how I can approach my problem.

@Oxymoronic930 thank you kindly, and hope this helps! The pen case is one I found on Amazon, and has held up brilliantly over the last year or so of use. I've had others, but none have held up as well, or look as good as this one for keeping everything organized and undamaged. I'm handy with many things, but leather isn't one of them. When I decide to change or upgrade, I'm going to order one in OxBlood red leather, made by a custom maker. First I need to find the right maker though, because I feel obligated to help quality makers out. @ArcThings different styles, and different methods of carrying tools. I can say this, a gift from my wife will get used and cherished more than anything I pick out myself. I do use backpacks, but for me it's a very specific utilitarian need, and my preference for daily use revolves around a satchel. If I'm not careful, it's easy to end up carrying a lot of random junk and added weight. The medium sized satchel format is a look I like, while also forcing me to keep the carry more thoughtful and formatted to the day ahead.

@PhotoCaptured

@lware1 in the time I've had it, I only did a full waxing once. I do touch ups here and there with a horsehair brush and sun warming, or even a low temp heat blower. I'm coming up on a cleaning and touch up, so I'm planning out how to do the video and show how easy it is! I just get the straight Martexin wax cans, and they are great for basically any waxed canvas material. Now I'm coming up on nearly a decade with the same little tin of the stuff, and it just works so well.

Im sorry. This may seem like a silly question to ask, but im from the UK. Why would you need to carry a suppressor? I would have thought that if you had to use a firearm for self-defense, noise would be an afterthought.
@PhotoCaptured
@PhotoCaptured 2 ай бұрын
@eugenevictortooms4174 short answer, most don't, and this just happened to be what was in my bag at the time I did the video. I often take my bag with reading and writing materials to go sit out by the water or somewhere in the woods on my private property. I'm in the middle of nowhere, so getting a surprise visit from wildlife that is capable of attacking is very real. I'll find a spot to sit and read or write and put the suppressor on my pistol that I keep next to me. The legalities of actually taking the time to put a suppressor on while in public and claim defense is not every going to go well. Some of us have a rifle in a safe or pistol in a safe with a suppressor that has biometric access for home defense. Carrying such a device in public is pretty rare unless we are going to be in the outdoors hiking or camping. Hope that helps to clarify that most of us don't actually carry such things regularly. The laws surrounding suppressors are pretty stringent in the U.S. and we avoid doing stupid stuff. Safety is priority for most gun owners in America 👌

@Glassed_in_Nature I've been trying to figure that out for over a decade! It's larger than a Pitt Minion and slimmer than a traditional compact from most publishers. While being the same footprint as a Nelson Compact, it's barely an inch thick. All while maintaining a really great font size. Mine is the red letter or Emerald Text edition, but otherwise identical to this one: KJV Standard Text Edition (Black French Morocco Leather) a.co/d/drIzRA0 I also have this Nelson NKJV compact: NKJV, Compact Center-Column Reference Bible, Black Genuine Leather, Red Letter, Comfort Print a.co/d/3ZDYT3q I sincerely hope this helps, and that you find what you're looking for!

@@PhotoCaptured Great! I'll be on the lookout. Mind giving me a minor spoiler? The one in the thumbnail was a single stack like an old school Walther ppk but I'm not aware of those being compatible with optics. Am I wrong or are you running something else? If its something else you don't have to give the model. Just wanted to know if I was wrong about optics on those old ones.
@PhotoCaptured
@PhotoCaptured 4 ай бұрын
@form4li7y there are some adventurous types who have successfully milled a PPK to accommodate a slide mounted optic. It tends to be rare, and expensive if done right, or functionally challenging if done poorly. The thumbnail is actually a P365 with my CGS can ✌️ That was entirely staged, and not a preferred setup just because it's too small for me to use well. My G19 alternative is quite modern, and quite bulky for most to consider as a carry piece unless they are very proficient at concealment techniques. Comfort is my primary reason for sticking with the G19 - that sucker just doesn't have bits and bobs that poke out in every direction. That said, carrying with a slide mounted optic is truly game changer if you're already a decent marksman. Definitely a tool I recommend readily for all the benefits, and very few cons.
