Thanks David! And yes, the handouts and the notes master are key. And there are a couple tricky things about the notes master that I should mention...What is the 'unfinished' layout for? Just a slide that you're still working on you mean, as you're building a presentation?
@learnspreadsheets7 жыл бұрын
Regarding “unfinished”, I use a layout with a drastically different colour background for a few things. 1. To indicate that slide is not complete as Im authoring or 2. To denote it’s a different thing to the audience, maybe a discussion or an exercise. I find it works well!

@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining5 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew - thanks for the question! When you go to change the fonts options (like I do around 1:38), if you scroll to the bottom, you'll see Customize Fonts. If you click on that, you get to choose which fonts you would like to use. If you've installed the font you want on your computer correctly, then it should appear here as an option. Once you save it, you'll be able to use this font combination. Keep in mind that custom fonts can be problematic, which I explain in this other video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKeqi2qmg6ehr9E Hope this helps and good luck!

I don't have Photoshop so I need to figure out how to do it with the tools I have. Thanks!

Thanks Kim! The way you would do that is to take your logo and then make the color a light grey using the color options in PPT. Then, duplicate the object across your slide. Finally, select all of the logos and the copy-paste them together as an image, before placing it on the Slide Master. I don't have a tutorial specifically on this, but my video on how to make a watermark will show you a lot of the steps which are similar: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKWapWSalJx8n7c. Hope that helps!

Hey, great job on the tutorial and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with others. I have a quick question: is there a particular reason why you copied and pasted the image as a background image/pattern as opposed to simply setting it up as a background image? I would like to change the transparency of the photo and copying and pasting it directly onto the website will not allow me to adjust the transparency. By contrast, setting the photo as a background image will give me the option to set the transparency. Thanks!
@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining5 жыл бұрын
Hi Claudia - and thanks for your question. There are pros and cons to inserting an image versus making it the background, but you can absolutely do it your way if it helps you set the transparency and achieve what you're looking for. The only downside is that you can adjust it once it's set as the background and a future user won't be able to access the original image. By the way, in newer versions of PowerPoint (Office 365), you can now add transparency directly to pictures you copy/paste, making things easier for all of us! Hope that helps.

Hi Holly - hm, if you're not seeing the little lines, I would assume you're not in the Slide Master View. When you click on the View tab in the Ribbon and then on Slide Master, what happens?

Quick question- the fonts that I purchased are not showing up as a choice. Is there a solution? Thank you.
@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining6 жыл бұрын
Hey there! First thing to try always, is to close and then reopen PPT after you've installed a new font. Or even restart your computer. If that's still not working, it may be that the font you purchased are web fonts, and not desktop fonts...or that they're restricted in their use. Take a look at the license for the fonts to see how you're allowed to use them.

how can I group the 2 pictures?
@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining5 жыл бұрын
You should be able to select the two pictures and just hit CTRL+G to group. You can alternatively select them both (holding the SHIFT key), right click and in the menu select Group. Hope that helps! How to pop up toolbars menu above the ruler?

I've added custom template, just like the one you did, but when I test run it, I couldn't type in. The boxes where users supposed to type in something, they became like a picture format, not a word box where you can edit. Where did I go wrong? Edit: Wrong part of the video LOL, I meant to comment on part 3 😅

Hi Husna - when you're building a template in the Slide Master, you need to make sure you insert placeholders (not text boxes). Only placeholders will be editable back in the Normal View.

Fantastic tutorial! Thank you! I have a question- when I go in to edit master, I only have one child slide showing underneath the master, unlike yours, which has a whole bunch of defaults. If I hit "Insert slide master," I get a whole second set of new masters, but they have Calibri font (not the font pairing I chose.) I saved this file as a .potx. What have I done wrong, and how can I fix it?
@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra - sorry for the late reply. If you only have one child layout, it means the others were deleted. To add more layouts to that parent slide master, simply click on 'Insert Layout'. But I would consider starting from scratch, so that you can get all the default layouts back. And also, if you click on 'Insert Slide Master,' PowerPoint will add a whole new master to your template and it will be completely separate from the first one. I don't recommend this for 99% of situations. Happy to elaborate if you're interested. Hope this helps!

i don't have a slide zoom in my powe point what can i do ?
@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining5 жыл бұрын
You mean zooming in on your slide, correct (not the new Zoom feature). If you don't have the plus and minus signs in the lower right-hand corner of your screen, try holding down the Shift key and using the spin wheel on your mouse. That is another way to zoom. Check out our other video below for more PowerPoint zoom options. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWe8aZl7ltOJgdk

Hi....I am struggling that all elements are still in editable format. Can you please let me know.
@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining4 жыл бұрын
You mean the design elements you put on your slide? Double-check that you are adding those elements in the Slide Master view and not in the Normal View. If you are in the slide master view, remember that the content placeholders you insert are editable in the normal view, but any rectangles, text boxes or lines you add to your slide master will not be editable in the normal view. See if that does the trick for you.
