used to build my pc's 20+ yrs ago, lately i buy pre build pc's because of my low income being disabled because of my health, am a lung and heart patient, wish i could afford a better pc. because i sometimes like to stream on twitch, when i feel physicly well enough. will be 52 august 17th. so been around with pc's for quite some time, even commodore 64-128 and the amiga 500 era. My first PC (and still current) was prebuilt, it was the cheapest one here, had an integrated a Ryzen integrated CPU, a non certified PSU and only 8 Gbs of RAM. But oh man it has been so much fun upgrading it little by little. I think if you wanna get into Desktops and customization, a prebuilt is a great starting point to get inspired and learn about the PC master race RGB world

In all honesty, building a PC for me isn’t a big deal… but I’ve also assembled and disassembled things like cars and clocks for awhile so something like PC building is cake, so a hundred to $200 doesn’t seem terrible for someone else to do it and offer a warranty. Thanks for a fun review, Nutty!

Received my Rapid Plus (4060ti/5600), a week ago, So far so good. The price difference was around $11 (using pc part picker) Airflow is brilliant, No complaints at all with the pc, Just shipping times took a little while. In case anyone is wondering I paid 1.6k shipped.

I feel like most people should just do pre-builts. I have an Aftershock coming built for creator work and some gaming, and it’s probably cost me a bit more than building myself, but I pay the experts to do it so I know it’s done right, and if there’s any issues, all warranty just goes through them. I don’t have to spend heaps of time troubleshooting and sending components back to manufacturers if something goes bad. I get to spend the time I would have spent building on my business, and or with my family, or even just gaming.

The idea of custom building is sooo confusing for me. I’m slowly trying to understand the part and what does what and the generations. For right I think I’d go something like this pre build or an Allied one, at least I could change it later or add/update it. I am looking to stream and game and work from it. My gaming laptop is just not coping heat wise. Graphic as sublime but it gets waaay to hot that I think it will blow up any day. So I limit my game play.

Honestly it's an interesting state now that prebuilds are actually a really good entry point now. There are some pretty good prebuild systems out there that are worth picking up that you can upgrade at your own pace if you don't wanna build yourself.

Great video, but to be honest, using a cusotm companies prebuilds isn't much different from using a custom PC. When testing out prebuild PC's what you really want to do is use branded prebuilds, from companies lke HP, Dell, etc. Because when people talk about the gap between custom and prebuild they're generally talking about mass produced branded prebuilds that intentionally use cheap components and build as tight to the required specs as possible. For example last branded prebuilt i tested came with a brand specific 200w power supply which was borderline exactly enough to run the parts it had, if you wanted a better graphics card, or more drives, you would have to replace the power supply too, which was a brand specific psu in a different size to standard so you had to get it through them. Whereas with prebuilds from custom companies the machines are built with wiggle room for upgrades because they're basically custom pc's built in advance based on popular builds their customers regularly buy.

Exactly this! It's mainstream company builds. This is the big difference between prebuilts and custom built. Companies like aftershock are basically making custom PC's.

I'M LITERALLY THE PERSON YOU'RE TALKING TO. I've been a gamer my whole life. but ALWAYS A CONSOLE GAMER. I've never had a gaming PC. but now my chat on stream is YELLING at me to get one! So I try to do some research, and there's SO MUCH TO GO THROUGH! I'm left thinking: "it'd be nice to find a decent prebuilt to at least get me started....."

I’m looking into building my own pc because it’s always been one of my goals. So I’m willing to suffer thru acquiring the parts and putting it together on my own. Thanks for including your own list. Looking at a very similar parts list for my build. I don’t have cool friends so I wasn’t sure if my list was garbage but now I don’t feel so bad about it. I stream from my Mac and I’m always getting “missed frames due to render lag” no matter what I do 😢 and it puts me off from streaming and I don’t even play the game on my computer!🙈 Now, do I impulse buy or wait for the holidays. That is the question 🤔. Also, I know you said you had limited time with the pc but if you ever do another video like this then I’d love to see how this build handles playing more graphically demanding games while streaming at the same time. i found its not worth building your own pc atm, the components are more expensive to buy unless you running a business, the parts they get at cost but I can;t get parts at cost so it seems not really worth building my own

I just did my own PC, Coolmaster case, 750w power supply, a i7 13700K, NVIDIA 3060ti, 128gb of ram and a 1tb NvmE and 4 fans for $1,485. So, looking at that system, its not so bad really.

Wouldn't recommend aftershock They use a low quality components In high end builds Almost paid 6k for the pc

@@nuttylmao ok...thx that u give me the chance to write u my situation...i stream on twitch/w OBS. non afilliate/partner (8000kbps). for 5 Month all went very well but all of a sudden after a 10 hour stream the stream cuts and since than it happends every time. it happens random onstream after 5min ,1hour even 1 Minute. stream gets cut and restarts after a few seconds. can i send u my logfile from todays crash and maybe u can check it (its a short logfile from 5 min stream) maybe u know this Problem and can help me without taking to much from ur time. i would send the logfile to ur email if u give me the yes to do so... sry for the long message but ur my last chance to solve the Problem. have a nice Day/Evening
