Thanks! I did this on my 2012 Civic Hybrid, it took all 3 quarts. Only difference on this car is there is no plastic guard for the drain plug to get around :-)

Меняется жидкость в вариаторе на 40000 км. При жесткой эксплуатации через 20000км Для, фильтрации жидкости в коробке обязательно надо менять внешний фильтр. Но в коробке установлен еще внутренний фильтр. Его тоже рекомендуется менять. Для этого надо снять поддон коробки. Под ним находится фильтр. При замене так же нужно и поменять прокладку поддона коробки!

Helps if you pour from the bottles the correct way, a lot less splash. You pour quart bottles the opposite way, instead of the neck first, you turn bottle around and neck is facing backwards... way easier, esp pouring only part of a bottle to top up.

No. Go to the Honda dealer and ask for the fluid for your vehicle. Their price aren't bad. I paid $9.99/qt for the CVT Fluid shown at the start of the video. Also ask for the proper coolant for your vehicle at the dealer.

The car is gone but yes, you should change your external transmission filter.

There's actually two: 1. In-line filter between the trans and cooler that's in the radiator. Part # 25430-PLR-003 2. Strainer in the trans pan. Part # 25420-RBL-003 Local US Honda dealer said the in-line filter was back ordered nation wide, and Rock Auto doesn't show it. Rock Auto does show the strainer with a trans pan gasket in the kit.

How do you know when it's time to change your transmission fluid? It's always been one of those things I've ignored. Also, I'm assuming it's the same, but is changing transmission fluid on a regular automatic transmission the same?

I usually do it around 60k, or 90k. You will find the transmission fluid color to be real dark and not bright red as before. I would check and change it if it looks dirty or not dark. As for the transmission change, its the same as automatic on this vehicle, the Prius has a cvt transmission but it doesn't have a filler hole on top, so you do that as if its a manual transmission drain and refill since there is a fill and drain hole on the transmission at the bottom.

I didn't want a lot of noise when filming, so that's why I didn't use the power tool. You want to change the transmission fluid at 90k.

all you need is a drive on ramp or a jack and jack stands. Its not hard to do it yourself, I do all of my maintenance at home. Doing it yourself will save you around 100-150$ in labor cost.

joelopezjl28 joe I just saw ur question. Plz do not use any brand but Honda transmission fluid. Honda's r really finnicky about all their fluids. Quickest way to screw up a Honda transmission or powr steering pump or master brake cylinder is to use a diffrent brand !

joelopezjl28 Hey Joe, I just got back from the honda dealership parts dept. n the brake fluid is DOT 3 and there is only one type of power steering fluid for all honda's, each r under $6.00 but the ATF DW-1 was $10.00, I got him to sell it for $8.25. Bud E Lee's tip about breakin the ATF fill plug first is valuable, I bought an extension bar for my ratchet n I can't get it off, gonna have to buy a breaker bar. Spread the word my friend, Honda fluids r the only way to go n watch ur knuckles when breakin both plugs. Take care.

I used it in my old civics that I used to own and it worked well. It's Honda and toyota approved. CVT is different. I don't know if Valvoline makes it for that.

You're supposed to pour them bottles from the end of the angle slant on the top of the bottle not where the cap is. But I really doesn't matter I guess as long as it's in there lol.
