It's amazing how things have changed over the years. If you get tired of lugging around a full stack, pedalboard and rack effects you could just take something that's a size of a mini pedalboard to gig with.

Both pedals sounds very good. In this video using OD effects, NUX seems to have more gain than the Valeton pedal and it is not a problem, setting up the gain knob. But in my opinion the sound of NUX has a little more middle frequences and Valeton sounded more faithfull to the Strato timbre. I don't know if it's different playing with other guitars, but I thought Valeton a little better. But both seems to be great pedals. Thanks for the video, sir!!! Cheers!!!

For me the best one was the Nux, some frequencies sounded a little more "fuller", also the software looks more worked in the Nux, but I can understand that some people might prefere the valeton because it looks like it has a little more to offer, at the end both of them are great for the price! I've had both. Although nux advertise that they use TSAC, to me personally valeton gp 100 sounds more closer to the real amps that it simulates. The mg300 is a bit bright sounding than the gp-100. Valeton also have a stomp mode option which is very helpful for live performances and all effects block is freely moveable unlike the mg300 modulation and delay is the only moveable effects block. What I loved also about the gp-100 is the simulation of whammy pedal is really good. The nux mg300 have latency when switching through different patches especially when switching from clean to dirty tone or vice versa and it is very noticeable during live performances. So I highly suggest the valeton gp-100 to save you from the trouble that I experienced. And also valeton gp-100 is all metal so you don't have to worry about the expression pedal snapping off.

@@gldkrn Hey. No extra foot switches can be connected. Yes, can use with anything you can connect with a jack. As both are over $150 USD, I would see if you could wait and get the NU-X Cerberus which is light years ahead of either. It's about $200 more but it's far superior. If you need one NOW, I would watch tone review videos of both. Both can give 'me" the harmonic overdrive "I" like and use, but it might not be useful to you. Also, there is now the GP-200 which again, is vastly superior to these units but is, again, $200-ish more. If "I" did it over again, it would save longer and get the Cerberus OR GP-200. GP-200 gives you more foot switches for control of more effects, Cerberus is more compact. BOTH can store presets. Best Regards and Best Wishes. Follow the Gospels!

The interface, the functions and essential details like bypassing the audio (like any pedal or multieffects should do) make me prefer the Valeton for a huge difference. Setting and performing with effects in the Valeton is intuitive and flexible, and such actions with the NUX is a nightmare. Cheers Derek ... just found yor channel & your vids.Good stuff man and ya come across as knowledgable and good spirited. Both these products seem fairly equal and top quality over the others(they know who they are lol). With that said, i've been doing MUCH research and vid watching(love KZbin for gear reviews), and it simply came down to one thing that i havent seen many talk about... USE OF THE PEDAL!!! Which product would you say had a better pedal feel,motion,ease of use,and the "Throw" in em or how hard and far did ya have to travel downwards to achhieve desired effect sound??? The Valeton (from looks alone) looks like a MUCH BETTER pedal for home studio,stage,gigging use...and that solid metal construction is hard to beat for longevity of a product with Live band situations!! Thanks in advance for your opinion on this subject,ya have a new subscriber here now as well,Staysafe and PEACE Derek....(sorry about it being so late after the post of this video,but as stated,just found ya!!!) #MusicMaker69

Cheers John, it's always good to chat to people who are passionate about these things! that's a good question, in my experience with them i'd say they were on par with each other with regards to getting what you need easily and the range of sounds and throw of the adjustable parameters, i found the NUX to have slightly better tones, but that's going to be subjective, the Valeton on the other hand is really good for the money and will probably take a better beating in gig use, i reckon you can't go wrong with either for what you'll need gigging tone wise, the Valeton as i understand it has a stomp box mode, but i found the NUX to have the same sort of thing if you set your sounds up and stomp between them at a gig. Anyway, rambling on....hope that helped and thanks for subscribing and sticking around :) cheers!

I already have a gigging guitar rig consisting of individual pedals and amp etc, but I'm keen on getting something simple that I can use for when I play simple, solo and duo performances DI'd into the sound system with an electric guitar that also has a piezo pickup under the saddles. Seeing as I would just be looking for something that I can program a decent electric preset with a little bit of gain and an acoustic preset (using an acoustic guitar IR), all in one unit using the same guitar. I'd say that the Valeton is the one that would work for me.

I'm really stuck between these two. I really love everything on the NUX MG300, but the 26 presets against 99 presets scares me. I'm afraid of ending up wanting to play a certain song and not being able to get the specific sound out of it (or something close). I've never had a guitar pedal before. I've only played through my Roland CUBE-15X amp which has some basic lead sounds. So this territory is very new to me. The only thing i know is that i'm interested in experimenting with the drum machine and looper. Do you think i will end up with too few sounds, or is it more than enough to get the sound i want?
@DerekPaulGuitar
@DerekPaulGuitar 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anders, either unit would be suitable, they both have 198 presets (99 user which are blank for you to add your own and 99 factory presets) they will both allow you to get the tone you want, its going to depend of whether you need acoustic simulation and what type of drum sounds you are after (the NUX drums are better) plus they both have software editors for full customisation, cheers

@Robertoilo
@Robertoilo 3 жыл бұрын
@Derek Paul Guitar I've seen these symbols, but the pedal apparently ignores them. It seems to me that this feature is only working through the interface on the PC. Note that when you click the wah pedal on the PC interface (which does not even appear in the signal chain of the LCD pedal interface patch editor) the pedal button turns red, but if you press the pedal button while in the function of patch editing, the icons change giving the impression of having changed the function of the pedal, but neither the red light of the button lights up, nor the function of the pedal changes, and remains only controlling the volume of the sound.

Interesting that you lean a bit more toward the Valeton, not only due to its feature set, but surprisingly also based on sound. The MG300 sounded a bit throaty on a lot of amps, as if it was asserting its own flavor onto everything, whereas the Valeton sounded quite distinct from model to model. Also found the attack to more natural on the Valeton. The MG300 seemed to be masking/muddling things a bit. Still sounded good, but more like it has its own signature sound. With the Valeton also offering bass sims for my occasional use of bass, I‘m definitely going to now check out more sound samples of that unit. Thanks for turning me onto this device I was unaware of! Was actually looking for a comparison of the Nux Cerberus with the Nux MG300 (having summarily dismissed the new MG30 from the competition based on its wishywashy sound). Still curious how the Cerberus might stack up soundwise in this field...
