Something about you makes me want to roll up my sleeves. Some ideas my friends used at bnb: A cordless travel steamer. Seat both sheets on bed and then steam lightly and the tension draws it taught. Save 2hrs! Pre prep batter for brownies and freeze in batches for a bakers dozen. Pull out what you need night before. Save 45min. A compact air filter will keep the unit's mostly dusted and add a signature natural oil scent to filter( like sweet grass/basil or other herbal tones like bamboo/tarragon...) A wet vac along the edge of the room should pick up the rest (airflow forces dust to outter rim). Save 1hr. You put in such a long day but the love shows! The rooms look well cared for and stand up radiantly and proud. Annabelle; the blessing and fresh air of a good helper! How proud you must be. Be Well, Liam

Hi Liam, thank you so much for your kind words! Some fab ideas there. I will definitely look into a cordless travel steamer - that's genius! I wonder if I can get a battery powered air filter? We've just bought a proper air purifier for our house and it's great so could definitely see it's use in the domes. I do quite often batch bake brownies and freeze them depending on how many i need at a time - otherwise we end up eating all the leftovers! Yes my lovely little helper is so useful bless her! She's getting more involved the older she gets and really enjoys it. Thank you so much for commenting and watching. Vicki

Ironing tip from a friend that changed my life: Make your own "wrinkle relaxer" spray using vodka and water 1/7 ratio to start (1oz vodka / 7oz water) and then increase or dilute to your preferred starchiness. It will speed up the ironing and also help the sheets keep their shape without adding stiffness or nasty white flakes like store bought starch. I like a to add a few drops of essential oil too, it makes me less angry to be ironing. ;) This mixture can also be used as a Febreze spray to reduce and remove odors in the air and on water safe fabrics.

Vicki you work so very hard … you do absolutely everything … do you ever get some time out for yourself ? … Annabelle is a real wee helper … but doing the lions share is bound to be totally exhausting … and I see when you get some time off your out with the kids and Brian …. Does Brian work away from the site ? … I hope business flourishes for you and maybe we’ll see you go off on a spa retreat alone away from it all … 🙏☘️😘

Bryan has a full time job which at the moment is working from home so he can sometimes pop and help me with things in his lunchbreaks. gosh a spa break sounds amazing about now! Vicki

Hi. A bit late to the party. We're looking at setting up a glamping site over in France in a few years time so I'm absorbing information at an alarming rate! One question that you may have touched on in another clip - how do you manage when guests arrive early? We watch all the programs on TV about couples running businesses and an ongoing theme seems to be people turning up hours earlier than they should and there doesn't seem to be a moment when they say 'You're too early, please come back at the time agreed!' Does this happen to you often? Loving your videos so far, thanks for the very useful hints and tips.

@@davidjsherry hi, thanks so much for your comment and it's great to meet you! That's really exciting. I think glamping in France has so much potential, it's definitely not as saturated as the UK! So to your question, we very rarely have people turn up early, I think it's happened once in 8 years where it hasn't been pre-arranged. I do message the guests 2 days before with check in time and arrival instructions so that helps. If they did happen to arrive early then I've got somewhere to store their luggage and would allow them to enjoy the site while I go their dome ready. I think on TV they always need the jeopardy to make it more interesting but in reality it's not that common. Hope that helps! Vicki

Hello! congratulations for the youtube channel! My name is Karen. My husband and I are the owners of a land of 5000sqm in Baja California sur (mexico), in front of the beach. We are looking for investors to build an off grid glamping or a tiny house village. if you are interested in this please let me know something or just have some tip from you. I am Guatemalan and my husband is Italian. We currently live in Italy but our dream is to leave our jobs here and move to Baja California sur.

Hey guys, what is the occupancy rates of your glamping site? and what rates should a newbie expect?
@TractorsandCream
@TractorsandCream 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question. So we get about 60% occupancy. Mainly because we are really family friendly so don't get too many mid-weeks during school term time and I also don't push the mid week market as it gives a bit of down time in between the crazy weekends and school holidays! We only open April to October so get the winter off. We started off not getting any bookings through our website and everything was through air bnb and booking .com but now 95% of our bookings come direct through our website. It's good to start on the other platforms and then gain your regular customers. We had around 20% occupancy the first year but the times are a bit different now as staycations are massive due to covid so some new sites are experiencing much higher occupancy rates this year. Where is your glamping site, are you open yet? Thanks, Vicki

You could have another water jug full for when you think you need to replace the current one. How much are you charging per tent
@TractorsandCream
@TractorsandCream 3 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry I've only just seen this comment. Yes extra jugs might be the answer! We charge £90 per night for the yurts and £100 a night for the dome.

my biggest question here is since there are new Airbnb rules in California restricting how many days a house could be rented on Airbnb per year, do these new laws also affect tents like those?

Hi, I'm afraid I have no idea! I know in the UK we had to get full planning permission for them. They are classed as removable structures so would be worth looking into.
@TheAdVentureists
@TheAdVentureists 3 жыл бұрын
@@TractorsandCream You are right, in the states, at least where we are, they're classified as temporary structures but that can vary by municipality. Most people don't but you should definitely get planning permission from your planning and zoning department for sure! Not necessarily the same rules as regular housing

They had to pay quite a bit more than 1000 for these, it was mentioned somewhere else that it was about 100 times that. I really wish it was as easy as putting a tent for 1000 and opening up and I'm sure they do too! :)
