Have you done/could you do a video on bang cutting techniques (foundation stuff)? I'm trying to master them as a new stylist and sometimes have challenges with them, especially carving out fringe from completely long hair thats never had them before 😊😊

I have a lot of health issues, and my stylist believes I should keep my hair short, partly because of this, and partly because she thinks its cute, lol. I originally had to cut it around chin length BECAUSE of a health issue and kept it short ever since. I still have issues and am on a lot of meds, but I REALLY want to give it a try again. long hair, i think, was so much a part of my identity and I just don't feel right. It almost seemed like it went with the transition into my 40's and symbolized old age for me. Just a mental thing I guess. We've even tried several coloring techniques to hide or blend the sudden head full of grey hair i had, but most have been a disaster and NEVER hold. The happiest I've been is after, on a whim, i decided to go dark purple and i never went back, on color because it made me smile for the first time in a long time. In dealing with customers with a LOT of health issues, who don't have the energy for a lot of maintenance, and some falls out, plus its harder to keep healthy with all the meds, what would you recommend, if they are on a tight budget, but dying to grow out their hair again? I do try to use a good shampoo and conditioner (I need to know a good leave in 1 because i always need that), but otherwise I can't spend a lot. What would you say? Its a bob, a little shorter than chin length, and I am just really hoping to make it to shoulder length. Will probably not be able to have it really long again without being really thin and horrible looking. Thankyou!

I use oil mixed with certain herbs that are good for scalp massages. Every week or two I scalp massage my hair with oil then comb it down to the ends. I sit with it for a minimum of 2 hrs. Wash it out. Maybe shampooing twice. Depending on the shampoo. I stopped heat styling too. I’m 51 and my hair is bra strap and healthy. I just cut off 6 inches. These are the two things that really made a difference. I also use pure mehandi henna but my hair is really dark and I don’t change my hair color often. It’s difficult to get out but it gives me strength and thickness.

i'm sorry for the long delay for a response. I'm just noticing a few comments now that were missed. i'm not sure if you ended up finding a solution for your hair but my opinion is that everyone should love their hair. that being said, all hair requires maintenance. the best thing you can do is find a color that you like that is close to your natural color (because that would require the least amount of maintenance). I agree with what Tracy had to say down below too about using herbs and good products that promote scalp care. what did you end up deciding to do?

@@nvennhairbeauty I never saw that about using oild/herbs, but I have actually gotten to a place close to that in trying to care for my hair. I did have a nice stylist, where for 1 or 2 visits, she did the under part darker and then blended blond highlights with my grey, without trying to coever it up. its the best its looked ina long time, and she was the only one that has listened to me on the length I wanted, and knew just what to do...so of course she got married and moved away. I have tried 2 stylists since and it never goes well. Its funny, but I have just been asking questions again to youtube about possibly just letting go and going grey since that is what my hair seems to want, lol. And being at home, atleast for the short term, it is getting to or just past shoulders and definately getting the grey. If I get really disgusted (My just looked dirty and icky, not drab when I try to trnsition) I still have some old manic panic i can play with that is non damaging, lol. I know shorter in the back and a lot longer in front isn't the trend anymore, but that has just been the best thing ever for my thin fine hair, but most don't seem to do it right, and wif I amspecific with youtube terms, they say its all the same thing and do it wrong. I guess my big questions these days is easier transition? I definately use the oils and masks for dry thin hair, but would it be at all safe to try and bleach and use a very light lilac type color to help in transition so I can have fun with it, or is that too dangerous. I already look unhealthy when I look in the mirror, That strong contrast of grey to brown just looks so sickly on me. A lot of people can rock it and have enough health and feel secure in themselves where they can pull it off, but I struggle and do not want to shave my head tho, lol. Many blessings. (sorry for the typos)
