Thier wont be any titan gpu, and 3090 is 20% better in workstationloads then 3080 as always titan where, it is not a costly quadro. As is leaked there is going to be quadro ampere model with 48gb slower gddr6 vram, 3090 is already maxed chip its a almost full die with insanely pushed 350W TDP, titan wont have any headroom left without doing any major architectural changes. As for ti yeah they are coming, pretty much confirmed at this point, however i dont think 3080ti will be much faster than 3080 because there is already very small gap of performance between 3080-3090.

Im still using DDR4 at 3200 mhz and it is never bottleneck for performance. I suppose we did need DDR5 to keep up with promises of memory speeds that never came.

@@StrazdasLT I’ve tested a 4090 in a 10900k PC I have that runs DDR4 3200 and I don’t have any bottlenecking at 4k/144hz. I’ve tested many different games with full path tracing and they have all run between 120-160fps at max settings. The board is a Z490 MSI board with PCIE 3.0x16.

@@KiinaSu You are mistaking ALLOCATION with USAGE. Every game allocates much more memory then they'll ever use. To date, the biggest memory hog is the new Flight Simulator and even at 4k max settings it only uses 9-11 gigs. But considering no card out there can run Microsoft simulator at 4k/60fps... memory capacity is certainly not the issue. Learn the difference between the two before you get your panties in a bunch. I also love how you mention 1 game in your comment as an excuse for why you think this is a gaming card and mention 12 gigs as "not enough" memory. I hate to break it to you... but this has 24 gigs of memory bud. Literally double and it will take many years before that is needed in games.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe any previous Titan's had compute driver optimizations, did they (a quick driver search just shows the same game ready and studio drivers)? If so, then it is no worse off than previous Titans. Only the Quadro line have received those. If anything this release looks to be closing that gap, as they now release "Studio" drivers that are tuned a towards some compute workloads. It is some artificial segmentation, but it is also because the 3090 is somewhat dual use. Your gaming performance would suffer if it had the same optimizations as the Quadro line. Though, I agree, it would be nice to be able to switch between the two if wanted,

There are mutually exclusive optimizations for both, so at least one would suffer. I did look at the Catia performance, does look like some artificial segmentation there. For my uses (Tensorflow primarily) it looks like it'll be a good fit still. My main PC is 80% games mixed with periodic multi-day AI training.

To be fair the only thing the Titan had was dual precision and Nvidia disabled that, re-enabled it after vega 56 raped them then disabled it again when AMD didn't challenge them on the high end with Navi. A Titan without dual precision is just a binned xx80 TI that costs twice as much.

To put things in perspective, you can start a band with $1500 these days. You can buy a very decent entry-level guitar, bass and a drum kit for less than $500 each. And, unlike the computer hardware, it will get better both with your skill going up, and just with age: as wood settles and matures over the years, it sounds better. Not to mention the quality of your life experiences going up due to you learning music and having tons of fun with other people.

I think the idea behind using "3090" instead of "Titan" is that they no longer have to keep inventing Titan names. Though honestly they should have just used the architecture name from the get go. "Titan Ampere", "Titan Turing", "Titan Pascal", "Titan Kepler". But also, they get to sort of merge their Ti series and Titan series.

1gb of GDDR6 at 14gbps is estimated to cost just over $26. With GDDR6X it's not clear yet how much a gb costs but the jump in price from GDDR5 to GDDR6 was about equivalent to the speed gains. So assuming that the same thing has happened from GDDR6 to GDDR6X then it's just over a 39% speed increase from 14gbps to 19.5gbs a second, and by extension also a 39% price increase. Therefore if I'm correct 1gb of 19.5gbps GDDR6X should cost just over $36.

@referral madness It means that all the CUDA cores (along with the RT & Tensor cores) are unlocked/functional. Mostly 2 or more graphics cards have the same 'base' GPU(die), but the lower tier ones have some Cores disabled/locked as it isn't feasible to manufacture a separate GPU all together for each graphics card.

"2.7 x multiplier over 1080ti", that can't be right. The 2080ti is around 30% quicker than 1080ti in the best cases. So I struggle to see how 3090 is nearly 3 times faster than 1080ti.

Those high margins are for newer games with RT. And even if the 3090 is 50% faster than 2080Ti which is 30% faster than 1080Ti, then the 3090 is almost 2x 1080Ti

I have several friends that have different versions of the Titan. Their respective rigs (built themselves) are around $5-$6k for the builds. With Monitors it’s close to $8k. $1500 more for a Titan isn’t a big deal.

One HUGE problem that I have with nvidia's marketing is this: they claim a 90% increase in performance / watt. RTX 3090 is something like 50% faster than RTX2080Ti @4K, and it has a 40% higher TDP. So... that's like a 7% increase in performance / watt. What in bollock's name do they mean by +90% performance / watt?! WHERE IS THE PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION?!

I am a video editor and I have to say that I have seen minimal differences when it comes to export times based on the graphics card I am using (recently went from a 970 to a 5700 xt). The graphics card will kick in when using certain video effects - main culprits being noise reduction and colour correction I believe. If your exports are crashing, it could be to do with using footage or still imagery that Premiere isn't getting on with. I convert all imagery to TIFF or PNG and all audio to WAV pre-edit to cutdown on my Premiere spitting the dummy with jpegs and mp3s. Also, for silky smooth editing, create uncompressed proxies before the edit.

Very good video with interesting figures. Regarding RTX3090 CPU bottleneck at 1440p playing MFS2020. If we're only seeing 40-60 fps with graphics at maximum, would there be less of a bottleneck? I ask because my new RTX3090 FE is on the way to me in the post, only I'm still running a R5 3600 with 32Gb of 3600 RAM. I fully intend to upgrade the CPU soon, but which one would people suggest if it's mostly for MFS2020? My motherboard is the ASUS X570-PLUS.

hi, i have RTX 3090 FE and i7 9700k, and i thing, that the bootleneck problem is not so big. I7 9700k you can buy with very good price. On the begining i was Angry, that i not bought the i9 10900k, but i saw also Videos with RTX 3090 + i9 10900K and diffrence was not so big, sometimes even worse 😆
