The entire point of technology like dlss and fsr should be to bring life out of the low end GPUs because the majority have them and it creates a different between non playable to a playable experience. Not against the fact that higher end GPUs need it too since they have more heavy things to take care of like ray tracing but it is what it is. AMD has done something that will be praised by a huge crowd of low end pc gamers who cannot get their hands on the newer GPUs or cannot afford them. Good job AMD.

A dozen other chips make a gpu and as it happens 1080 tj has far better components and co processors compared to 3060. As far as I understand it FSR support on a driver level won't happen even for AMD's drivers since it's something that has to be implemented on a game-by-game basis. Probably could be implemented on the engine level as well so hopefully, we see some of the big-name engines implement it.

The interesting thing about this is: AMD is still embracing OpenGPU as a concept even though they have a good lead on CPU and GPU progress, they aren't giving in to mass greed to try to pull a Nvidia with the market and expensive price to entry. You would assume only underdogs would go Open source stuff to build a market and grab attention, but Intel isn't doing that and Nvidia isn't doing that at all.

Tbf most of the low end cards on the market can now easily do 1080p 60 fps. I don't understand people's obsession with 4k gaming, when they are playing on a 40" or lower panel. If you want to play 4k, you should be doing it with 65" minimum panel and at least 8 feet from your eyes with a 5.1 surround system. If you're 4k gaming at a desk with some shitty overpriced headset, you're wasting money and those kinds of people drive really bad marketing decisions in the electronics industry.

yo if you want fsr idk because for 1200 you could get a 2060 super and don't get 2070 it is for some reason weaker than 2060 super but you could get the best scaling compared to fsr which is worse than rdna and that is worse than dlss

Ive been team green for over 10 years. Been seeing the trend for AMD since 2016 and all I can say is that AMD is making me transition to their technology and I believe will continue to be a good investment. I love what AMD is doing for their consumers. Though nvidia always has something to counter this type of technology. Still, AMD will finally reign as the leading manufacturer of chips.
