I love the quality of videos.But, there is something I always wanted to point out..The staff can be VERY hippo-critical (Specifically Luke). Especially on very minor things. You guy dislike piano glossy because it attracts dirt and it will be noticeable, yet you also don't like brushed aluminium either. It doesn't even matter about the material anymore because you guys will always find a reason to dislike the product. This was not the point of the video AT all, but its something I find unfair.

StoreBrand I believe they mean dust, being as the type of plastic coating that achieves glossy finishes has a bit of static cling which attracts dust from out of the air and is really trivial because all it takes is a dry cloth or duster wipe over it and bam perfect glossy surface again. Compared to other finishes, glossy is easy to take care of imo.

James Nixon mbps and mb/s are 2 different things. You have about 17-21 MBPS so you're good

I've got this great device which allows me to stream games from my PC. It doesn't require any WiFi, it never drops frame, it has no input lag, it doesn't require an expensive device, it consumes no power, etc. It is called an HDMI cable. You pug one end into the PC and the other into your TV. Done! I have yet to figure out the purpose of running an Android console if you have a PC in the house. Am I the only person who has figured out how to run an HDMI cable from my PC into my living room's large screen TV?

I bought the Shield for streaming kodi cause of its power which is fasssst! and I'm a casual gamer (I'm over 30 and have kids and a job) so I can't play games all day and buy everything when they come out and have the time to play it on my xbox one *which my son took over* but I have to say, I honestly think next Gen consoles should go the way the shield works. I mean streaming games from Nvideas servers without downloading is great. All in all I love this, hope they make a new version soon and compete with the big boys. overall this works great with kodi, just buy a keyboard/mouse combo with a tab to close unused apps and you'll be happy... also I have my emulates and roms on it. it's an all in one media center.

The Game Stream function is great ! I even played DayZ Standalone on my Shield Tablet. Well - almost played.. cause the game doesn't support controller (could only look around). But you can play any game that has xbox controller support. And the most important thingy - for the Game Stream you need a beast router !

I'm not in a position where I need game streaming so for the price this doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but otherwise it's pretty good value. The only real problem is that like with any console you're stuck with what you got originally, and I get the feeling the x1 won't be king of the hill for long and nvidia won't be interested in supporting it for more than a couple of years. Tegra 3 anyone?

truly baffling that Witcher 3 isn't on Grid even though they used an early beta of it back in March at GDC to show off the streaming quality otherwise this thing is pretty sweet, i'm sure after getting whipped by AMD in the console market they were still itching to do something with the Tegra tech particularly at $200 base price...even if there aren't a lot of games for it, i'm still recommending it like mad to every console gamer i know, $200 isn't much money at all for the potential this thing has, if i didn't already have another PC built as my media rig i'd absolutely buy one of these

THIS IS NOT A MORE AWESOME CHROMECAST! with the shield, you need to open the app you want to cast to first and then you can cast to it. also, if you have more than one shield, you CANNOT rename the shield to anything else. So that means that you will have to guess which shield is which.

Spencer Stagg 1) You can switch between all games without the pain of using Windows with controller. (Steam Big Picture only supports Steam games) 2) Wireless stream is possible from your pc. 3) You can stream from the Nvidia cloud playing AAA games at 1080p 60fps without downloading them. 4) You can use Android games and apps (for example Netflix, KZbin, etc.) and play natively those pc games that are ported to Shield.
