Good to see you out there again you the man storm God bless you and your family. Ok that is my old walking tracks out there from the `70s and I always loved trains but they are very dangerous can`t believe the south shore line is still going you were very lucky to film the wreck and a freight train going by and south shore at same time. I watch a lot of live railfan on youtube there is live cameras all over now. Any way the south shore line going toward miller before you get to lake st. there is a bridge going over the b&o railroad the old orange pass. cars electric and very little noise my 1st. wife her brother and I were walking the tracks up the hill before the bridge it snuck up on us I heard something and looked back he`s coming up the hill we got off tracks just in time. Yes I did a lot of walking the tracks in my teens in that area of miller got busted in Gary twice. Need to walk more now just turned 67 Dec. 24th.

I will say it was pretty trippy especially when that other train went by it was just good timing and I really appreciate you taking the time to write that God bless you and your family too. I think I’m going to do more train tracks they are always so cool and interesting thank you so much once again for your comment I enjoyed it so much I am going to pin it to the video so everyone can enjoy a little nostalgia thank you for stirring it up In my brain about the long walks in the tracks we used to do the same thing I really enjoyed reading this comment and thank you for your unwavering support it means a lot to me. This is why I do these videos for memories of places long ago this was pretty cool because nobody got hurt and it was just cargo. ☝️😎☝️💯⛈

I worked a lot of derailments while working for Union Pacific Railroad . I've seen a hell of a lot worse and the destruction is Awesome and almost unbelievable . That derailment was probably caused by a rail defect or the train derailed while going through the switch . The propane tank is for a switch heater . The rail cars and the rest of the material will probably be removed soon . The rail cars that can be put back in service will be picked up and sent in for repairs . A new switch will be installed and will be a panel rail switch hauled to the site and assembled and slid in place . That's very interesting and something you need to video if possible . REMEMBER ' Anytime is TRAIN TIME ' . TRAINS CAN RUN SILENT . I know as I've almost gotten hit 3 times but I was extremely lucky . Stay Safe .

Great to see close up. Once i knew it wasn't a passenger train. Which is what you automatically think here as 92% of trains are passenger. Very little freight. Thanks for taking the time to go video it

So glad I found you guys again. Darn KZbin and their crazy algorithims. Now WHO in all their infinite wisdom decided that was a good place for a propane tank beside live railroad tracks? A train details and hits that tank & KABOOM! Hey Storm is there a chance Gary can make a comeback or is that city's best years behind it? Hope you have a safe and healthy 2021.

@anthonyjackson42133 жыл бұрын
So what are they going to leave that to rot away, like many of the buildings throughout Gary, seems that should have been picked up the same day or next day, right after it happened, also dangerous for kids playing in those train cars as well....🤪🙄😕🤔🤔
@TheSteelCityStorm3 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell they are scrapping it where it lays it is getting cleaned up and they are scrapping it out instead of towing it away but I agree with you I’m surprised they didn’t leave it there to rot

Careful around moving trains my man. They are not forgiving. Although, I yelled out “Safe!!” after your slide down the rail road bed. Also, law enforcement has zero tolerance for trespassers on routes designed for interstate commerce. Cool stuff to see up close. Rail trucks, welded rail sticks everywhere, loose coils, hopper cars split open, trains still moving around you..... stay alert good sir. As the old joke goes.... How do you know a train went by? Answer: It left its tracks.
