People from other generations used to call it just "soundtrack" in full name or just the "main song" so the acronim caught us off-guard. There are many popular acronims nowadays that were just fully pronounce by Millenials (we are the generation that went from mobile phone to smartphone and many of us got our first mobile in adulthood so we could not change spoken language for written language) ✌️🫂

Military update---Jin has reached the rank of sergeant & is an assistant training instructor, J-Hope is a corporal & is also an instructor, Yoongi is doing alternate service due to his past shoulder injury. He is doing his service in Seoul and will serve 3 months longer than the others. The last 4 have been promoted to private first class. Jimin & Jungkook enlisted together as companion soldiers & are serving in the artillery on the same base where Jin is stationed. Taehyung is in a special unit that protects the capital & Namjoon is in a mountainous region near the 38th parallel. They have numerous awards & are adapting well. It would seem that they excel at everything they do.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

It tells more about how they were formed and their discography and how they grew over time to get where they are now. It’s very well done and it doesn’t have a lot of reading.

There's a new guide by ARMY up to date to Feb 2024. It's called A Helpful Guide to the BTS members or something like that. It has some of this same information, but different footage and covers the new solo work. Spreading the word! It's great to see you watching this, Nathan. There's a lot of stuff that's somewhat glossed over that explains their success. They were pioneers because of putting rappers with vocalists and ended up hated by both sides. The three big companies with money were able to buy tv slots, but BigHit had no money. Bang Si-Hyuk (aka Bang PD) wanted them to write their own music from their hearts, whereas the Big Three shoved kids through tough, almost abusive, training, then handed them shallow music to perform. By allowing them to write their own, they challenged Korean societal issues (unheard of) and personal issues (also unheard of) which added to the hate they received. cang was a visionary, and was able to choose extremely talented boys - one requirement was the ability to get along, though they had teenage issues too. The boys (men now) had big dreams too, would practice 16 hours, then rap or practice more hours on their own. They had to be perfect in order to build a fan base. The media found excuses to attack, they couldn't get radio play in the US because of racism and payola, and on and on. Some of their songs have a lot of anger expressed toward these haters, with symbolism, such as mic drop, fire, and the cyphers. Suga was mad all the way through Haegeum. So they persisted and persisted. The 1.3 million viewers at that concert is cool. I watched Suga's live paid concerts and there were 6 million. Their government asked them to do a free online concert in fall of 2022 and 60 million computers etc logged in, breaking the server. Anyway, there is so much to their backstory and content that it's hard to comprehend. The mention of vacations and such came in their later years, they didn't take a break for 5 years. They lived together 8 years, finally getting their own apts in about 2020. I have never seen a group so tightly bonded, not family, not the girls I took on wilderness trips, not my best friends. They truly love and support each other. I'm sorry this is so long. For a lot of people it's the only documentary they watch, and it's not complete.

While I haven't seen it yet I hear it is rather dry and in some ways incorrect? Wasn't it even taken down? Or was that temporary? Having rappers on the team is normal in Idol music - just not usually what people can call "real" rappers. They were hated because they were from a small company and succeeded over Idols from bigger labels with a big fandom/company stans. Dirty PR is very common in Idol music. Asian Entertainment and Culture made a vid about it. The rapline is not up to Idol beauty standards - which is important in SK - and rappers considered underground rappers becoming Idols as "selling out" and not being real rappers anymore because Idols are not exactly considered artists or musicians in Idol music. And than there were their lyrics and having no outside producers etc. bby gang mag has an interesting video essays: - BTS: More than K-pop - you are wrong about K-pop Side-note: do not trust weverse viewer numbers: it's impossible to have more viewers in the live-stream than subscribers. It's likely that every reload in counted as a new viewer. You nice! Keep going! 💜

Lots of great info in your comment. One point where I beg to differ is that they could get along. There are plenty of times that BTS has talked about how they argued when they were living together in the early years. However, what also happened was Band PD and/or their other managers taught them how to resolve their conflicts. You can see if in their Honey FM radio shows, for example, when they would talk about the frustrations they had with one another. And they also learned to give compliments to one another. At the end of the Bon Voyage seasons and other occasions they often wrote letters to one another that praised one another and demonstrated their love. We could all learn a lot from their example! 💜

I loved all the light sticks that were controlled by the concert people. That was awesome. There were other BTS related things going on in Las Vegas, which was fun. A Visual is a Kpop star who is the main one to sell the story of the song. Soulful looks and such. Hard to explain as we don't have an equivalent in the US. The 'pretty guy' but also an actor. The old old OLD Videos are still on their KZbin channel if you look, where they goof around or talk about things and of course alot of that is clipped into compilations all over KZbin. RM once was live and Jimin was bored so kept dancing up against the translucent wall behind him and RM gave the camera his long suffering expression. Junkkook if you watch the RunBTS series, is good at EVERYTHING except waking up. He's fast, agile, very strong, sings like an angel, dances, plays several instruments and is a very good artist and also does martial arts... That is why he's the Golden Maknae. RM is legendary for breaking things. You can find many clip compilations of it like when he broke a crank handle while making a guest appearance on a show. They even wrote it into the script in the RunBTS episode where they make their own short video. He does NOT cook well so they usually give him jobs cutting vegetables in order to minimize injuries. And is why he rides a bike and does not drive. In the early days V was somewhat of a rebel. RM has a story of sneaking out with V to get ice cream cones when they were meant to be dieting and the Managers catching them. In the RunBTS series he is often doing odd things so much that noone thinks twice about it if he does something unusual, which lets him get away with a lot when he's the Spy but also often makes him seem like the Spy when he's not. We know that J hope is training newer recruits, V is in advanced training for Special Ops, Suga's old shoulder injury meant he is in alternate service rather than the military. I'm not sure exactly what but it often is things like teaching. RM and V both were in the top of their class. I like your honest liking for BTS so keep it up! Ive never been to a live concert but watched two online concerts and saw the Busan Concert in theatres. Suga's D-Day tour is coming to theatres so you should go see that.

Suga has a whole song dedicated to the love of his first piano, called "First Love." You should totally check it out! He's also played live on stage several times, including at his most recent AgustD concerts with "Life Goes On." I also recommend checking that out. It was brilliant! ETA: JHope recently choreographed the back up dances for one of AgustD's songs that he performed at his concert. I could be wrong, but I also think he did some of the choreo for BTS's live performances of "Baepsae." He also has Hope on the Street coming out soon about different dance styles! ETA2: Long Military Update: Jin and JHope are killing it as drill instructors. They both also achieved a "special forces" status which allowed them to rank up faster. Jin should be getting out sometime in the next few months. Because of a previous injury, Suga was deemed unfit for regular combat duty, so he's serving as a social service agent. He'll be in longer than the rest because of that. He's gone really quiet since joining, and I total respect that. I hope people let him finish his service in peace. The others I believe are out of basic training now. V has joined the military police corps...which I think is very similar to the US version of MPs. Both him and RM graduated basic with a special recognition as "elite" trainees, which is apparently only given to 5 out of every 200 recruits. Not sure what RM's job is after basic. Jimin and Jungkook chose to do a special enlistment that keeps them together. They actually trained under the same unit where Jin is a trainer. Not sure what their assigned job is, if they have them yet. I know there's stalkers out there that probably know more. But I like to wait for official news via official channels. So yeah, there's a relatively recent update. As an USAF spouse...I'm so insanely proud of them. I know how hared the military life is, but it's not surprising at all that they're kicking ass and doing so well. Those guys can conquer anything, if they put their minds to it.

In this vudeo, the Korean firm of calculating age is used. That system has you become 1 on the day you ate born, then on the following January you become 2, and add a year each January. So V, who was born on December 30th became 2 yrs old, 3 days later. The Korean government passed a law that instituted the global age system that went into effect in 2023. As you watch other videos, whenever the guys mention their age, it will be their Korean age unless they specify that they are using global age. Therefore, JungKook was not 15 when he signed as a trainee in 2011 and left home. He was still 13. He was 15 when he debuted. In fact, 5 of them were still in their teens when they debuted with only Suga and Jin being 20.

People became collectivly one year older on the *Lunar* New Year. That makes for a unique situation in a still on Kunfuzinian social worth system: chingu aka. people born in the same year friends are the only ones who can truly be socially equal. When you wonder why 2 Idols who seemingly have nothing in common from label/groups are friends the answer is most likely they were born in the same year. It is one of the reasons why Jimin and Taehyung are that close from early in their career. (P.S. While it is true that JK was scouted when he was 13 it was only a few month of of 14 - and I think he moved in in summer of 2011. We have seen his 16th birthday celebration and it was ca. 2,5 months after debut.)

Suga plays the piano and guitar, he actually composed the song "first love" as a love song to his piano. He is a sweetheart. He said that many people think hes cold or mean but hes just a huge softy who gets excited over little things like kittens and puppies. He said he seemed angry in his 20's and that he wants to now live his 30's as a much softer person. He wrote about how he wasn't loved enough as a child so hes the cautious type in his song "people pt.2". Pre debut he had multiple part time jobs and he would try to sell his songs that he wrote but people would steal them from him. He said it was a constant struggle being an underground artist, he had to chose between 2 dollar instant noodles for dinner or a bus ticket. If he ate he would have to walk hours back to his home. In that interview where they were disrespecting him and Rm, they asked him what it is he is trying to do and he said that he wanted to make underground and mainstream as one because he doesn't want others to suffer the way he did, he said he was starving everyday just trying to work for his dreams. Actually during one of Sugas side jobs when he was a delivery boy he got hit by a car and it shattered his shoulder. He was afraid the company wouldn't take him in so he hid it at first but when they found out they decided to pay his college tuition. He went almost 7 years without surgery and it got so bad he couldn't even pick up a water bottle but he still worked his ass off and performed like it was nothing. He fortunately got shoulder surgery back in 2020 and he is feeling much better. I dont want to focus too much on their hardships because people tend to do that and i know the boys dont want us to worry, they are much happier now and are healthy. They have grown so much and i am so proud of them. They have always been there for eachother and they are like family now. They always mention their love and appreciation for eachother and it is never forced. They even got matching 7 tattoos to show their loyalty and love towards one another. Suga got his 7 tattoo on his injured shoulder next to his scar :) They're strong bond makes me so happy and i am so thankful that they found one another. They went through everything together and have supported eachother. They even signed a third contract as a group for another decade, so yes they will be back as a group in 2025. They always talk about it and get so excited thinking about all the fun memories they will make once they are back as a group. Im sorry for the long comment but i hope this helped you understand their bond as brothers a little more.

🙋‍♀I was blessed to see them twice. I traveled to the shows by myself but never felt alone, surrounded by ARMY from all over the world. All of us loving and being loved by these seven gentlemen. They put on an amazing show and give 100%. I'll always be thankful to live on earth at the same time as BTS. Really enjoyed your personal commentary and watching you watch this! I agree with the other comments about watching the other video, The most beautiful life goes on, it will compliment this one nicely. Min Yoongi is Suga's real name! You can see many of their previous lives on Weverse. After the initial posting, there are subtitles, but I have watched many times not knowing what they are saying (I only know English). They sing, dance, fold laundry, do arts and crafts, eat, drink and play games and just share everything. I don't know how anyone who gets to know them wouldn't want to be best friends with them. Each one is unique, talented, humble, and honest. It's refreshing. I'm 55 now and they comfort me and make me joyful in times of depression, or pain or just stress. Can't wait for them to return to their creativity after their service. I wish them so much happiness and contentment for the rest of their lives. I just love them, apobangpo! Borahae! 💜

What people forget: That is normal for Idol trainees: Who did not dance: Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, Taehyung, Jungkook Who danced the wrong style and had to be corrected: Jimin Who did not rap: Hoseok, Jungkook Who did not sing: Jin, Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook (who did not get any real singing lessons till years into his career: Jimin) And no, Jin is NOT the only one who can "belt". Nothing wrong with having a favorite/bias/beloved voice - except when you take stuff out of context and give people a false impression. Jin has a very beautiful voice.

On how K-pop groups are formed. In general, labels hold auditions and scout for young talents to sign as trainees. When they want to form a group, they select people from their pool of trainees and the group will debut. People can train for 1-4 years before debuting and they can also be cut by the label. For BTS, the process is similar in that all members became trainees first and the seven were eventually selected from among the trainees. A notable difference is that when RM auditioned, the label was impressed by his rap and lyrics that they decided to form a hip-hop group around him, so early BTS trainees were rappers, including Suga and J-hope. When the concept changed from hip-hop group to idol group, the label looked for singers as well. There were 10-11 trainees at any given time, coming and going, with a total of 30 trainees overall.

Different from the usual system also here: The bottom 3 of the monthly test were not cut: Min Yoongi, Kim Namjoon and Supreme Boi (who decided he would like to be a producer for the label). HYBE labels now keeps the trainees that don't debut but lets them go if they want to. Back than they had no money for it. We can trace some of the trainees and one of them is dead. There is a documentary called "I was almost in BTS" with the last trainee to be cut and another ex-trainee as a guest. I'm a little sad that these details are not in "the Rise of Bangtan"-series but than the series - especially in the beginning - has to give a lot of context for new people first.

Borahae is a mashup of the word for purple and Saragae, which means I love you. Jimin almost didn't make it into the group, in an interview (Let's BTS) he said that he was nearly cut on multiple occasions. Bang PD said in the Monuments Documentary that he wasn't sure that Jimin belonged in the group but staff convinced him otherwise. And there's another recent video on the Hybe KZbin where RM credits a staff member for advocating to keep Jimin and that "without Jimin it would have been a disaster" although we don't have more on quite what he meant by that statement. We've seen Jimin with Bang PD and clearly there's no hard feelings. On Suchwita with Suga & Jimin, Suga said he told the staff that they were making a mistake in training Jimin to rap, and has said that Jimin's voice is to his taste and he knew Jimin would have a unique vocal quality if developed.
@ruthfischer7615
@ruthfischer7615 10 ай бұрын
The reason was that Jimin was untrained and they wanted to debut soon and already having cut most non-debut trainees. Jimin danced the wrong style instinctivly/held himself wrong and because of circumstances most likely did not get individual vocal lessons. So debuting him was a risk. Everyone knew that. It turned out a good idea as BTS is 7 and with one member missing they would never had that synergy.

BigHit auditioned and signed many young people, guys and gals, as trainees. For instance RM and Suga became trainees in 2010. The group members were picked from among the trainees to form BTS. There are interviews where Jimin spoke about the possibility he faced of being let go while a trainee. I recall watching a video with the guys and a solo artist who had been a trainee at the same time they were trainees.

After more than an hour filming, "is that it?" is the best reaction to see 🤣 I love that you spotted their connection with fans - it was deliberate, and sincere, and it worked. People grew up alongside them, watched them grow up. But it made them vulnerable, too. I know you're mostly into production and there's no bottom to that rabbit hole 🤣 but I really would love to watch some live performances with you. Even if it just sparks more memories of your own time onstage, it's a perspective not many people can bring. It felt like you really connected with BTS through this video because for all that they're Korean and you're American, you really did have a lot of similar experiences. I grinned when you said "all five of them" because of course you know there are seven... but there were five of you, and that's what you had just been thinking about.

Ok so, chairperson of HYBE corporation and founder of Big Hit Entertainment (Big Hit Entertainment is a part of the bigger HYBE corporation, both of which he founded) Bang Si-Hyuk, pronounced with last name first, as Bahng Shi Hyuk, also called “Hitman” Bang (because he writes hits - and a lot of them. He’s an extremely talented songwriter and can manage an entertainment company well too. He’s a main songwriter of BTS’ music, and before he started his own entertainment company, he wrote hits for JYP Entertainment, which is another top Korean entertainment company that produces idol groups. He said in an interview I just saw here on YT, that he first became mesmerized by idol groups when he, as a teen in the 80’s (he’s 51 now) saw a video tape of the British “pretty boy group” he called them, Duran Duran. He said at that time, Korea was just coming up in the modern world (South Korea is a very young country as far as modernization and a western-style government and pretty much did in just 100 years what the U.S. did in like 300 years. I’m just talking about the speed of modernization. Going from dirt roads and horses for transport and dynasties and kings to the ultra modern South Korea of today. That happened literally in just 100 years - the bulk of it happening in just the last 50, which is just really wild… really like modernizing at lightning speed once democracy and capitalism came into play. There are many videos about that here on YT) and it was hard to get video tapes of live performances of western music in South Korea in the 80’s, so watching a band like Duran Duran, his eyes were really opened to another world. He said that maybe that was fate that he was turned on to western pop music and pretty boy bands as a teen, since he ended up creating idol groups. :) I liken him to Maurice Starr, who created the New Kids On The Block, and also managed them and wrote a lot of their hits (but Hitman Bang went even so much higher). Not necessarily to react to, but just to listen to, you should really check out Epiphany by Jin (the YT lyric videos vary slightly so look at a few different ones with just the lyrics, because it’s the lyrics you’ll want to focus on). Jin didn’t write it (Hitman Bang did, along with BTS producers Slow Rabbit and Adora) but he sang it so well, and it’s just such a really beautiful song, both musically and lyrically. That would be one you’d maybe want to cover if you can create a good English lyric translation. I think literally every BTS fan loves Epiphany, and BTS themselves are no exception. There’s a video here on YT that an ARMY made, showing how much BTS loves Epiphany, and it features all 7 of them each singing it passionately at different times. ;D

Dude, also as an aside, I just want to say, I’m only one year younger than you, and you look really fantastic (people thing I look younger than I am, and I thought you were younger than me!), so good for you! Cheers to looking great! So keep on living passionately and with love and gratitude, doing what you love, and also eating well and taking care of yourself, because all of that is what helps people to age super gracefully.✨ There’s a quote I like that’s attributed to Socrates, that is “It is a disgrace to grow old through sheer carelessness before seeing what manner of man you may become by developing your bodily strength and beauty to their highest limit. But you cannot see that, if you are careless; for it will not come of its own accord.”✨ :)

You’ll also notice a lot of sharing food out of the same bowl and feeding each other and that kind of thing. Super weird in most western countries for probably a majority of people unless it’s your significant other or maybe your kids, not super weird in Korea, where even co-workers out together will share out of a communal soup bowl with their own chopsticks and such. I know BTS is super close to each other, but I see the same thing in videos of Korea and Korean dramas and whatnot, amongst friends and even strangers. Western societies are really individualistic and private and we maintain a lot of personal space around us (this probably comes from British culture), Koreans, not as much. It’s much more of a collective society and there’s a lot more sharing with and taking care of others in a super close familial way, even if they aren’t necessarily related to you. It’s just a noticeable difference between Western cultures and Korean culture.

Another note (I’m commenting as I’m watching the video, pausing of course, lol). So j-hope, before he auditioned for Big Hit Entertainment, auditioned to JYP Entertainment (another top Korean Entertainment company - at the time, Big Hit was a tiny company nowhere near as big as JYP, which is still a top company today), and he was accepted as a trainee (your Micky Mouse Club story made me think of this), but then he got cut. What’s so amazing, is that j-hope could have just decided that he’d failed, gone home and gone back to underground street dancing or become a local choreographer or something like that, but he decided to stay in Seoul and audition for Big Hit even though it was a really tiny company at that time. He was accepted as a trainee, and ended up in BTS. TBH, I don’t think he would have had nearly the creative freedom he’s gotten with Big Hit if he’d stayed with JYP, so it’s lucky for us that he’s our j-hope, lucky for him that he was cut (or “failed”) to succeed in JYP Entertainment, and lucky for the world that he’s the 3rd member of BTS!💜 How amazing. You should never thing of something that seems like a failure as being such, because usually, not succeeding at one thing, leads you to something else that is also great, as it did with you. Maybe you wouldn’t have ended up in your band if you’d gotten into the Micky Mouse Club, so you just never know where something NOT working out could possibly lead. :)

You also asked if BTS started as a rap group or rap-idol group and the answer is Yes. It did. Hitman Bang heard a mix tape by RM, which was given to him by someone who met RM and knew Hitman Bang. Bang arranged a meeting with RM, and immediately wanted to work with him (I heard him say in an interview), and came up with the idea to form some kind of group around him. He thought of the concept of a rap-idol group, but a real authentic rap group with real rappers and real rap lyrics (a real rap group with a pretty-boy look), not like a pop idol group with a rap style or tough image. So Big Hit held auditions for rappers and SUGA auditioned with the aim to get into the company so that he could become a producer (with a company. He was already producing on his own locally in his hometown of Degu for local artists). He was accepted, but under the condition that he’d go through idol-type training even though he was hired to produce. He agreed. But then he was convinced to join this rapper-idol project with RM. They needed at least another person they thought, and j-hope had auditioned, after he was cut from JYP Entertainment, and became the third member. He could dance and dance well, and neither RM nor SUGA could dance at all (imagine that… like, imagine that and then go and watch some of their live performances and focus on RM and SUGA… it’s amazing what one can learn to do, when they just decide that they are going to learn to do it - the same goes for j-hope and rapping. He learned from RM & SUGA and has now become the chameleon of the BTS Rap line. I think RM is the poet, and SUGA the fire, through they are all all 3 sometimes). So now they had these two rappers and a dancer for this rap-idol group, but the company was very small and without money and really struggling financially, and Big Hit decided that a rap-idol group wasn’t that marketable or wouldn’t be that popular (at that moment in time (2009/2010), so they decided that they could add more guys and make it a pop idol group, which was really marketable at the time, but have 3 main rappers instead of the common one that a lot of idol groups had, and make it a rap-heavy idol group. So they added Jin, Jungkook, V, and Jimin, and honestly, I think one of BTS’ greatest unique strengths is that it’s such a rap-centric and rap-heavy group, but with an equally talented vocal line. Many idol groups are vocal heavy with one main rapper to interject some variety into the songs. A few, like Block B had 3 who could rap but it was still more vocal heavy, and the rap was more like a few lines here and there. BTS has just a really nice balance of beautiful vocals and really good rap in equal amounts. So then SUGA and RM had to learn to dance (along with Jin, Jungkook, and V) and SUGA called out Hitman Bang in an early video they recorded at Big Hit, where they all stood in front of each other and everyone in the company and made a complaint about something that frustrated them, and SUGA stood up in front of everyone and yelled that “Someone told me a really big lie….!!” and then stated that Hitman Bang told him that he wouldn’t have to dance… but not only does he have to dance, but BTS has the hardest choreography of any Kpop group! Lolol. Poor SUGA. He got over it though (…mostly…), and look how good he is now!! I feel proud of him. He decided to do agree to dance, and then decided to give it 110%, and can now completely hold his own in dancing in a group that’s the top pop group in the world. It’s totally amazing. ;)

47:03 OST means Original SoundTrack. It is used internationally. Especially in anime, tv series etc. For movies especially smth like Dune they can use "score" "soundtrack". But OST is smth that became worldwide used because of Japanese anime i would say

I went to their PTD concert at SoFi in 2021! ✋ Honestly the energy of BTS mixed with ARMY is insane. I've never experienced another concert like that before, and I probably never will again (unless it's BTS). They sound SO good live as well! I highly recommend trying to attend one of their concerts when they come back!

OST- Original Soundtrack so basically a song that’s written for a specific drama or movie. So a song written specifically for Top Gun is an original soundtrack song. 💜💜

Just a reminder to keep the historical context in mind whenever you think about BTS’ methods and accomplishments. Their KZbin use was not “like other groups.” They invented a new approach and intensity to staying in close contact with fans. They did not struggle and emerge within the kpop industry you think you know now. Their success changed the industry itself. Think about it: nothing in society was the same 10 years ago, right? :)

Thank you for watching. 🙌🏻 Jungkook was 13 when he joined. He also occasionally slept in the closet like your member. That's why he calls his films Golden Closet Films. They did want BTS to be a rap group in the beginning. And it was a bit like the Mickey Mouse Club. There were other trainees that got cut. A lot of the members had no training in dance. Jimin was a trained dancing ace. Suga once said that when he first met Jimin that he must be an amazing dancer, in order to be there, because he didn't look like a hip-hop guy.😂 So now the group had 2 dancing aces. I am always amazed at Jin's discipline to learn to sing and dance from scratch. BTS dances are hard!!! I liked hearing the stories about about your group. And, yes, BTS is family. 😘💜🫶🏻🫰🏻 Also, 3 out of 7 members could be considered lethal weapons. 😂😂😂

that is what happened to JIn. In fact it happened twice. once when he was in High School and he thought it was a scam so didn't follow through, and this time, with BTS. The international plastic surgeon ass. has named him the most perfect face as he has golden or perfect margins on his face and is so perfect they now use him as a standard. OST is original sound track. JIn is doing so well and is now a commander which I believe is as high as he can go as enlisted. He trains the newbies and it's reported by other military that he is much loved and respected. also you googled OTS, not OST.

Ok, I just had to comment on your tea...it cracks me up every time you mention it, because my husband is also a KZbin creator (PC games), and also has a favorite tea, and also mentions it every chance he can and it became a running joke that he was digging for a tea sponsorship. He was like, "One of these days I'm going to get a C&D from [tea company name] telling me to stop mentioning their name in my unhinged playthroughs..." 😂

Since you play the piano, I think you will relate with suga's song "first love". It's about his love for piano/music. And please react to "lie" by jimin too. OST means original sound track for movies, k-dramas, games etc. The korean dramas are very popular so the OSTs are important as well. J-hope will release a new album on march 29 "hope on the street", including a feat with jungkook.

I enjoyed your reaction to Taylor’s guide so much more than many others because you brought the perspective of someone who went through similar experiences. I especially loved you mentioning hours of dance practices . BTS routinely practices dance 8 hours a day and were known to practice 16 hours a day preparing for releases and performances… The Korean entertainment company and trainee system is unlike anything that exists in the west. The companies scout, train manage, do a&r, produce and distribute. When BTS debuted it was rare that the members participated in writing composing or producing and that bang si hyuk gave them that freedom was kind of ground breaking . Jk became a trainee w big hit in April 2011. By western calculation he was 13 when he left home, went to Seoul and lived in the dorms ( Koreans calculate age differently. Not going to explain here but google it lol ) So during their trainee to debut days, 7 guys ranging in age from 13-20 lived in a 486 sq ft 1 bdrm,1 bthrm apt … the mind boggles … (actually 8 people because a manager was with them as well)… Jin went uni, rm graduated high school, v and jimin went to high school together and jk was in middle school…they continued to live together until late 2021 btw. Thks gain Nathan I would love to see the breakdown of black swan and find out what that string instrument is on the track… I’ve heard harp, mandolin, Chinese guru in Korean gayageum … ??? 💜💜💜

welll... Motown existed. There were about 30 (?) trainees that did not debut and came in at various points of the trainee time. One of them is dead - he was not a good guy. Supreme Boi on the other hand is a producer for HYBE.

@@ruthfischer7615 you are absolutely right the end to end aspect of K-pop may have deliberately or Inadvertently may have its origins in Motown … the scouting and training process is the aspect that seems to me to differ the most… the trawling for thousands of kids who meet “Korean beauty standards” and then enforcing training programs of 9 hours a day ( eg SM)… artists like gdragon spent 13 years training with SM and then YG! I know that’s the extreme but even yeojun of txt was 5 years at big hit… beyond the “grooming to be royalty” at Motown did anything comparable exist? I don’t know enough about the topic 😔

@@lizruork7877 Japan had about the same time their first Idol program, too. Idol music had to be better because the market was already too full. If you want to know more I'd try bby gang mag's video essays: -BTS vs. K-pop (has a section of what K-pop even is) - you are wrong about K-pop (because that narrative from the West is getting old) the following vids on the thematic are also intersting. Some of that is also in the "Rise of Bangtan"-series in the first few episodes but I prefer bby gang mag's take on it as it is more concentrated on the topic and less ambiguous. You nice! Keep going! 💜

1. I'm watching your reaction now. And I'm enjoying your boy band experiences how it relates. Informally, I'm going to answer some of your questions. About RM. Jin was saying. NO. RM. I don't need your help in the kitchen. If you watched closely, RM wasn't able to slice off one piece of that carrot. He Can't cook. 148 I.Q. is Very High. He is considered in the top .01 % of the smartest men in the world. He tested very high on the English equivalency test. And keeps going back to retest himself. He always gets a higher score. That show he was on at the blackboard..is a show where very smart men compete in answering very complicated questions. (They now have included women.) On his first visit to the show. He was the youngest. He outsmarted them all. And very quickly got the right answer. RM is very clumsy. And he destroys many things he touches. To this day, he doesn't drive or have his driver's license. Reason. To keep Koreans safe from him on the road. Not kidding. All 7 are presently serving in the military. They went in at staggered times. Jin will be out in 3 months.
