Yes, BTS are the GOATS of Kpop. That is no knock on other groups. I love TXT, Ateez, Shinee, etc. but BTS is something special. They play in a lot of genres of music, and all seven are super successful soloists on their own.

Not that others artists didn't start KPOP but of all the 1000's of groups produced in S. KOREA, BTS was the one that broke through the glass ceiling, into the U.S. Markets. Many others Groups tried but no one had lasting success in the Western Music Industry. Also, I wish I could post a graph to show you this statistic but. Adding up the top 10 other groups in KOREA, BTS, all by itself, brings in more money. BTS is listed with the Titans of S. Korea such as Samsung & Hyundai. All 7 members are serving S. Korea by serving in the Mandatory Military Service. They will serve for 2 years. Other producers right now are trying so hard to create another BTS while BTS is gone. Before they left, they made music, videos etc to try to keep ARMY occupied while they were away serving their country. Just remember, not everyone who says they are ARMY are actually ARMY, some are pot stirrers trying to get a reaction. Thank you so much for your reaction to BTS.

I’m 50 years old & enlisted in the BTS ARMY in 2020 during the pandemic & the year that my husband & I became empty nesters…it was the most difficult moment in my life & BTS, yes, BTS, all seven of these young men- Namjoon (RM), Seokjin (Jin), Yoongi (Suga/Agust D), Hoseok (Jhope), Jimin, Taehyung (V), and Jungkook helped me through the loneliness of not having my 2 boys around. I owe them so much! The respect I have for them as legitimate world class artists all seven of them, and how they stay humble, dedicated, & loyal to their craft & to the ARMY, is unmatched! In fact, most ARMYs are not fans of K-pop, but fans of good music. I personally listen to quite a variety of music, but mostly rock and metal. Basically, to me, BTS is the exact opposite of what K-pop is as a whole. It's an industry that creates idols for money... BTS creates art that touches the minds and souls of millions of people. Regarding making similar type of videos about the history of bands - these are made by fans. BTS have a huge amount of content on the web, precisely because they were not allowed in variety shows on Korean channels, later competing companies saw that this was successful in creating a connection between fans and groups. This is purposeful and apparently the money-hungry industry does not understand that this is a natural process and you can always tell when someone is being sincere and honest and when it is being artificial. Maybe sometime in the future there will be a "next BTS"...but in my opinion the probability of that happening is close to 0.. You can see the Boracity magazine's video to better understand: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoaYhGqZab1pb9k

very well said ARMY sister. Korean and even the Western industry has tried to replicate the BTS formula. Even Bighit and Bang Si Hyuk cant do it. i also listen to a lot of music genres with both parents in the music industry and performance arts myself. there is something different about BTS. Music wise, performance wise, theyre just different. they dont even have to have those high energy, extremely difficult performance and they can still outperform others. the only conclusion i can come up with is that theyre genuine, sincerity in sharing their music to ARMY is what makes the difference. And then there's their personality, camaraderie, brotherhood, love and respect for each other... i can go on and on

The visibility kpop now has in US and the world is thanks to bts , because of them there are kpop nominations, American shows invite kpop groups for interviews, shops with kpop albums exist . Many content kpop groups do now cause bts did that first, so it’s like success formula for them, like sns twitter/instagram/etc, doing livestreams with fans, their own variety shows , reactions to mvs , pushing for the same awards bts had to grasp a bit of bts popularity, making same concepts for music as bts (meaningful one) and many more

Yes! There is a great video by Boracity Magazine channel called "Trends that BTS have created" when it comes to kpop. It's kinda funny to me cuz BTS did a lot of these things do to necessity, they weren't able to go on Korean tv shows or when they were they were treated awful (it's mostly to do with the monopoly the big 3 kpop companies YG, SM, & JYP have on the entertainment industry. They have a lot of money & power especially cuz some even own the TV stations themselves). They had to find alternative ways to reach people cuz they couldn't go through the traditional ways other kpop idols could. Psy who many know from the song "Gangnam Style" himself said they were one of the few kpop groups to release MV's with the English Subtitles and that inspired him to add Eng Subs on his MV's too. I find it funny that BTS became the most well known kpop group in the world when they are a huge anomaly in the Kpop industry for various reasons, they had complete creative control of their own music from the very beginning. Now because of BTS' success other companies are starting to loosen their reigns of control & allow their groups to participate more in their own music so the industry is changing but sadly a few of those companies did it cuz they think there is a secret formula for BTS' success so they try to emulate that. I don't think those companies realize most people that became fans of BTS it had nothing to do with them being a "Kpop group" or in the kpop industry and everything to do with them being very sincere talented human beings. I came from the general public I'm not a kpop fan I was a hard rock and metal fan before I found BTS. I became army because BTS are genuine music lovers of multiple genres and they are the most humble caring people. We army support charities and giving back to the world because BTS has lead us by example, they have shown us how rewarding spreading love & positively to the world can be. I think BTS are a once in a lifetime group.

I'm going to comment as I watch, with some updates and some clarifications and attempting to answer any questions: 2:28 They have far more awards now. They are now standing at 1,175 physical awards and are now the most awarded artists of all time. Not Korean, or Kpop artists, but Global. As soloists, they also have a lot of awards. Currently, 343 awards between them all, but I expect that count to rise shortly from j-hope's recent album and RM's upcoming album. They have 12 solo albums among members (about to be 13 when RM drops his new album this month) and 20 albums as a group, plus many collabs, OSTs, singles and covers. Their discography is very deep, over 600 songs if you include all the collabs with other artists on their other artists albums. They also have their own variety show, travel shows, Suga has an interview show, they have documentaries, concert films, vlogs, livestreams, webtoons, short films, books, and more. Exploring BTS is a whole world in a rabbit hole, like falling into Wonderland, and they are the biggest group in the world. Their competition are the likes of Drake, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, etc. They are top of the charts, both as a group and as soloists. They top the charts in over 130 countries. Their global appeal is due to a lot of factors, but their crazy musical diversity and mind-blowing talent levels are chief among them. Enjoy the ride! 3:12 They in fact swept all the major awards at both the MMAs and the MAMAs year, after year, after year. It was a shutout. In 2022 the MAMAs made a new category of award for them called The Platinum Award and called them The Greatest of All Time. 4:08 Just for context on how small they started. Their company, Big Hit, was broke. They lacked money to properly promote them and so they did some unconventional and unorthodox things, like take to social media pretty much unedited and totally on their own terms. The boys uploaded themselves, vlogging, blogging and uploading free music, which no KPop groups did at that time. This opened them to an international fanbase from the start, which helped them overcome the crazy amount of industry shutout and abuse they suffered at home as being upstarts who didn't know their place. Big Hit had just ten full and part time employees and rented offices in a shared office building. They were mortgaged to their eyeballs and BTS was their only group. The had never trained a group before and had to cobble together a training support system, with a rented basement for dance practice and a leaky, moldy and bug infested apartment to house the boys. BTS are honest, genuine good people, and real artists, writing and producing their own music, which is still a rarity in KPop. TXT are their junior group (the only other group at Big Hit) and BTS has written and produced for and mentored them, as well as helping to develop the training used for TXT. Their prodeucer, Mr Bang really wanted to revolutionize the music industry and bring the voice and art of the artists to the forefront. So that is what he did with BTS. Big Hit's motto is Music and Artists for Healing and BTS has a self-imposed mission to bring love and healing to the world through their music. Big Hit started tiny, but are now bigger than the other biggest three (previous Big Three) Kpop labels COMBINED. BTS is bigger than the whole of KPop. Hybe is their new legal umbrella company (the house that BTS built) and there are many smaller labels under Hybe that they acquired or made, including Big Hit, in a grape cluster structure. BTS all own stock and are voting shareholders of Hybe. Even with all of them away on hiatus while they serve their mandatory military service in S Korea, they are still more than 60% of Hybe's total income. When they are active, they are more than 80% of Hybe's income by themselves. 6:08 The privilege of the single bed went to eldest brother Jin, whom you can see sleeping in the bed in that shot. 13:35 FYI - Most iTunes #1s means #1 in the most countries. Every country has their own chart. So that means something in the range of #1 in more than 130 countries. 13:58 This part where he is talking about lyric writing he is talking about a TXT song he wrote for them. 28:00 BTS were the first to do a storyline of this type. The depth and complexity of their story and the real-world relatability and heavy topics of the subject matter is really unique. Basically, everyone in KPop copies or follows trends BTS started. There are lots of videos on trends BTS started if you want to know more about that. So there are other groups now with storylines or just themes that have some story elements to them. The state of KPop today is largely because of them. But TXT are their little brother group at the same label, so of course they also borrow some ideas or inspiration, but make them their own. 28:20 Imagine scouting him off a bus for his looks and then he sings like this! There are so many crazy happenstance and "what are the odds?" moments in their story. The boys say they think it was fate that brought them together. It's just too crazy a story. This intro doesn't even go into much of it. 38:43 You said Maknae exactly right. 45:55 You also said Borahae correctly, except don't put so much emphasis on the a. It's Bora-hae. It's a mashup of the words for purple and you. So "Purple You/I Purple You." Absolutely the GOATs of KPop, but also of Korean music and of vocal groups globally, period. They are by far the biggest thing to ever come out of S Korea. They rival Hyundai in profit. With one concert, they brought more revenue into S Korea than the Pyongyang Winter Olympics did in 2018. They sell out the biggest stadiums in the world in minutes, all over the world. S Korea put them on their postage stamps - a first for a living artist. They have well over 100 million fans globally.

Hello, I'm a 47-year-old Brazilian ARMY. Thank you for your reaction to our boys! I must tell you that it is very common to hear reports of people describing how they “found” BTS in their lives, how important it was, how much they needed them and everything they represented, even when these people didn't even know they needed them. I am part of that large group of fans who discovered support, help or support in some way through their music, messages, struggles and achievements. I was widowed after a relationship of almost 23 years and was going through a depressive process. I don't have children and my husband represented everything to me, he was my friend, my lover, my love, my father, my brother... truly a companion. I can't talk about important moments in my life in which he wasn't a part and his absence left a huge void. I found myself completely lost and disoriented, as if the best part of me had also died with him. By chance, to distract me, my mother (who was already a fan) showed me a performance from one of BTS's shows. I don't know how to explain it exactly, but all that energy touched my heart. From that moment on, every time I listened to his music or watched his videos, I somehow connected and identified with his messages. BTS became a kind of model of optimism for me, giving me strength and love. I believe that the group's fighting trajectory contributed profoundly to their growth, the construction of what they are today and the connection they have with their ARMYs. These boys are not perfect nor do they pretend to be, but they are extremely talented and determined human beings, who give us examples every day of humility, charity, attention, dedication and love for others. They are my daily dose of joy and encouragement, true angels on Earth! I love all 7 of them, I thrive on their achievements and I share their joys and sadness. Sorry for the long comment. I will follow your journey with BTS. And get ready because we're still going to laugh and cry a lot. We will be together. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

The story line is a bighit thing. BTS were really broke in 2015. So they had to be creative to the maximum or they knew they weren't gonna survive in the industry. BTS tried everything and anything to b3 creative. So in 2015 for their The Most Beautiful Moment in Life album series they decided to create a storyline for their music videos. It kept running till the love Yourself era music videos in 2018 and a little bit into the Mots physical album contents.

@@RRREAD_TV supressed by the old school music industry BTS went bigger every year at award shows to let everybody see what they could do, ... until covid. Now award shows limit BTS time wise and set wise, because who would want to follow them, how demoralising. So if you want to see an award show performance that out does a super bowl half time ( BTS paid for the sets as just hiring that amount of huge led screens would have cost multi millions and let's not talk about unnecessary circe de soleil stuff lazers and who knows what) MMA 2019 is it. Well they didn't, actually live together for 8 years that is just the narrative that was told by the company. Taehyung & Jungkook stopped living with the others around the end of 2019, Older Army's know this, it was picked up from one of the bon voyage videos that Taehyung & Jungkook were not staying in the rooms they said they were. This is why older Army's do not recommend Taylor's video as she presents the companies narrative rather than the facts, older Armies recommends Xceleste videos, especially the BTS Hardships one.
@anitaherbert10376 ай бұрын
@@pamelakrause9311 well the trouble is we actually non of us know for sure. There is alot of taking two and two together to make five.Then everybody accepting that as a truth. A lot of wish fulfillment going on. people accept clues that point to a narrative they desire. Assume continuity in what might have been true for a specific period of time of unknown duration. . V also said he and Jungkook were no longer as close as they used to be. A separate conversation with Jimin revealed he had tried to mend the unexplained distance between them. So he might have succeeded but then again V did not know Jungkook was putting out a full album( evidence Suchwita episode). The 8 years comment was from a conversation between members. Not a press release. Life is fluid we move in and out depending on work and private lives. We actually do not know. Perhaps that is good. We really do not have the right to know. However I repeated that conversational titbit because it indicates a choice to extend living together beyond the norm. When you think about it, it makes sense. Security would be cheaper. ( given all the death threats). They definately laugh when together which is a great stress relief etc. They all say they miss each other. That is undeniable.

A couple of groups had a story line idea with their groups, but BTS was the first one to have a successful one that resonated with people in a meaningful way and made it a go-to for many new groups to incorporate one. Since they make their own music and craft the albums as a story unto itself, the rhythm of story is infused into their music as a whole and lends itself to that format.

Welcome, thnk you for watching the marvellous Taylor's excellent video! Tes, BTS had NO OPTION but to take things into their own hands. Since they were not from one of the big (massive) 3 Kpop companies (SM entertainment, JYP and IG), but their talent was somehow both looked down on and feared. those same 3, who had a LOT of money ad thus a LOT of influence over media companies, blocked their inclusion on shows, and, where they might be included, blocked the transmission or upload to the internet of their performances, When BTS were invited on 'variety' shows they were often openly insulted and maltreated by hosts because Big Hit did not have any clout. BH had almost NO MONEY and in fact at one time sent everyone home because they could not pay wages, and they nearly went bankrupt. So, yes, BTS had to do it all themselves. Through their efforts (along with their amazing staff) BH grew and in 2020 transformed into Hybe, which is now the largest agency in SK. Sadly there is currently a lot of what I will call 'nonsense going on around Hybe management, though it is much more perfidious than mere nonsense. BTS is not involved that, since all of them are serving in the army, but despite that, attacks are being made on them - but ARMY is not taking it ling down.... 😀 No one in BTS is perfect, but each individual in BTS is remarkable. One thing which is perhaps unusual for a band with their public profile is that they not only do not hide their flaws, but openly share them. In fact they take great delight in 'outing' each other, and laughing - it's very human and inclusive. They not only laugh at each other and tease mercilessly but consistently uplift and praise each other, seamlessly. .Storyline - BTS is I think the only band which has this kind of feature - it's more than A storyline, because it runs across a plethora of songs and MVs and involves complex principles, psychology, symbolism and time travel - and is, in places, pretty damn brutal and shocking. The film does not necessarily have much to do with the song. There are multiple fan videos explaining at least parts of the story... WWH - this was a way for Jin to cope with his embarrassment in crowds shouting "you're so handsome". It's become a shield for him now, and, yes, everyone laughs because it is a great joke. Jin is actually a deep introvert, preferring time alone with friends, gaming and chatting/drinking, to the spotlight and crowds. He's also very bright, though, and articulate and unafraid to speak his mind when it is needed. Pronunciation - you are doing GREAT! I've heard so many do much worse. BUT don't worry, it's new, and takes time! BTS and TXT are in fact brothers and the relationship between them, even when TXT were still very new, damp and shiny, has always been a delight. They now now each other well, but TXT are full of respect, and BTS full of support for them. BTW I love BTS music, but not 'everybody knows ' BTS, Other bands are I think taking a leaf, but BTS' music is incredibly deep, layered and poetic. They were the first kpop band to take on troublesome topics as consistently as they do. Very very few songs are simple, and most can have more than 1 meaning. I dislike (most) Kpop, but I like BTS' depth and lyricism .... and their challenge! I HATED Gogo and Anpanman, finding them reminiscent of 1970s bubblegum pop ... and then I looked into the ACTUAL meaning of those songs. They are in fact satirical criticisms of social issues in SK, and on what it means to be a 'superhero'. I love them now... I don't think the fanchant started with BTS but has for years been common in Kpop. I also think that it common in Kpop for songs to deliberately hold space for fans to sing along. I do think that BTS may have used this device more, especially as they got more international fans. In some ways a BTS show is a co-performance WITH fans, and BTS certainly feel that they get energy and drive from the audience. Many entertainers report it, but you can see it so strongly with BTS. BTS say 50% success is due to ARMY, but it's probably true: as hard hard hard as BTS and BH have worked, they would have been nowhere without the active support of ARMYs all over the world. Check out Rice Squad's video The most beautiful moment in life for a take on their numbers etc. ARMY is AT LEAST 45million - I think that (including ARMYS like me who are not official members under Weverse) it may be nearer 90 million. Raising £1m is really a bit of a cynch, You did really well, here, and I love your listening skills, respect and understanding.I look forward to your ongoing speechlessness as you discover more ... welcome
