Don't worry about over-harvesting that asparagus, it's an incredibly hearty plant. That little one you took will grow back to that same size in about a day, they grows amazingly quick. Once it flowers it gets tall and stops growing, but you can harvest from the same stalk over and over again in one season.

Try this if you weren't already doing it and see if it helps with your Lifestraw experience. To prime a LifeStraw ready for use, you must first uncap the top and bottom of the LifeStraw. You will then need to insert the straw’s base into the contaminated water source and let it sit for 30 seconds. This will give the water time to channel up the internal membrane. After 30 seconds, take five quick and forceful sucks. This will allow the water to start flowing.

For mountain lakes, you should always have some casting bobbers and flies. It is a clear teardrop shaped bobber that you put about a 3-4 foot leader with a small fly. Cast and retrieve real slow. Mountain can't resist a good bug. Try it when your bullet lure isn't working. Has always worked for me. Love your passion and excitement for the outdoors! Keep it up.

Bro, love your videos. You should never intentionally put yourself in a situation without water or easy access to clean water. if you want to do these challenges in the future but don't want to "have a hidden water bottle" just take a canteen and seal it with wax or something, show us at the end you did it without water. I want you around for a long time! Don't want you to twist an ankle or something somewhere search and rescue can't find you. ALWAYS have water on you!

I've been watching the insanity of raising the debt ceiling and Biden's ongoing incompetence and incontinence and I need a break to experience your happy insanity in the world of outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking and flat out enjoying the world away from concrete hell. I use the word insanity in the nicest way, to be crazy about the outdoors is the most sane thing there is! Thank you for taking me away from that insanity and into the world I love to so much. As a kid, my dad and my twin brother drove all over eastern Washington fishing and camping, we're from Seattle so it wasn't a long trip. it was a dream childhood and I feel very fortunate to have lived it. Sadly my dad and my twin brother are gone now and I'm left to carry on the duties of fishing, camping and hiking. I'm close to 70 now but I'm using your enthusiasm and drive to push me into going to eastern Washington this summer and experience some of the outdoors, fishing and camping like you show us. I hope to even possibly see out out there some day. Thank you for the getaway, I really needed it. God Bless you my fellow fisherman. One thing I wouldn't recommend is hiking without water, possibly at your age but not at 69. 😛 Oh, it's probably too late for me but at your young age don't give up on eating beaver! 🤣🤣🤣

I've watched several of your videos now, love the vibes, love the energy! But I can't help but notice you manually flip the bail on the reel every time after you cast. Is this out of habit? I don't claim to be an expert on all reels, but I've never used a spinning reel where just reeling in doesn't auto flip the bail. I watched your video where you were doing very targeted casting amongst deadfall in the water, and still doing that. I grew up using (and still use) a Shimano quickfire II reel and for what it's worth, those use a trigger to cast and reel in to auto flip the bail on retrieve. No manual bail flip needed on either end. Super handy for hitting very specific targets... Just FYI.

Perhaps it would be interesting to look into the medicinal use of aspen bark. I’m not an expert, but when I lived in aspen-rich Colorado, the old-timers told me that aspen bark contains the anti-inflammatory ingredient in aspirin. IDK…just something to ponder. I’ll do a little more research to find out how true it is and how you can use it.

Hey man I've came across your videos recently and I've watched a lot of them for the past week and I'm really enjoying your content. I have an idea for you.... I know this isn't "your cup of tea", but if you could do a video on a game called Fishing Planet and do like a comparison to real life fishing. I had a bucket monster in my camp. 3 am, no moon. What sounded like a bucket dragging on asphalt right outside my tent. There was no bucket, no road, no area that would sound like a bucket dragging on a hard surface. I pretended my sleeping bag was an impenetrable fortress as long as I kept the cover over my head. I survived to tell the tale.

You should never break or snap asparagus in the middle of the spear it will never grow back . Always harvest the spear as close to the ground as you can it will continue to grow back .

Hi, I watch a lot of your shows and obviously other shows. There is one family that once a year gets people to come out and visit them and live on their property off grid hunting fishing etc. and they charge a fee per person for one week. You should do something like that take six people up to a mountain lake, foraging and living off the land charge a fee per person, you could even do something where you have three or four lakes that you know well and people can choose which one they want to go to and then you get to a point where you have six people per lake and you take them out they will love it. You will love it and you will make good money.

Go around, investigate, get stories from old timers. Camp fire stories should be very important to camping adventures.
