I like how Dennis got some great developement in this story, as a predominant shunting and freight diesel, it's easy to see how quickly those issues he had aroused happened so quickly, reminds me of what the TCC did with Philip :P I also enjoyed the directoring with the shots displayed in this episode with some real fast paced and well handled moving shots from all over the bloomin place, real class A work.

First Dennis was lazy and now he refuses to listen for advances, whatever next will he be stubborn about.

I thought this was a good story. Dennis not taking passengers before and he sort of has a Samson feel to his characters. he feels like he knows what he's doing and is sure he was in the right about how he did his job. Dennis learning to say 'yes' for advice maybe hard, but it was the right thing to do in the end. It is, for most people, hard to ask for advice. I, for one, like how this story came across and Toby was the best engine to have help Dennis in the end. This video reminds me of my narration redub 'Dennis & the Trucks'. Although it is a bit different from this narration.

Nice Episode mate are going to add the new models I've been seeing like Harvey and Hiro or other TV show characters to your show because you tell better stories then them. Also your NSW steam vids are awesome as well

Glad that Dennis has learned how to handle passengers, I'm also glad Thomas is back in steam with his trains too. Is Bertie okay though? Has he learned his lesson too?

Very nice episode! I really like Dennis and think he really had potential, and I like how you've thrown him into situations where he can really work well to his character. If I were to give some constructive criticism, I'd really only have a couple notes. First of all, Thomas was shocked when he saw Dennis, but The Fat Controller already told him Dennis would take over in the last episode, so he should have known already. Secondly, relative to most of the other engines, Dennis is fairly young, so the "I'm an old engine" was a little strange. In my opinion, that could have been something like "Diesels can't ask Steam Engines for help," or something, but that's just my own honest opinion. Other than that, very good episode! :)

The point I'm saying for Dennis for being old is because, in my backstory for him, he came to the island beforehand and was lazy (much like in TV series, but a bit better) and was shut up in a shed beforehand until he was let out decades later and worked for Crovans Gate works while Diesel was pilot engine, that is until he was sent away to the NRM for repairs and understand respect towards steam engines. Rosie took over for a short time until she was rewarded as quarry engine on Thomas' branch line and Dennis acted as station pilot (watch 'Hard Works Brings Success' as that was Dennis' first story.) To me, Dennis was the 11001 diesel locomotive that was built and fictionally, he was bought by the Sir Stephen Topham Hatt grandfather (Sir Charles). The back story is available on DA. As for Thomas shocked about Dennis, I can be forgetful at times considering that there's a lot of other stuff in my mind. But for that, let's say that Thomas can get a bit forgetful, as for all he, judging by his build year, he's a century old, but he's young at heart :P

NWR1991 I see. Thank you for that clarification. In my canon, he's got quite a more complicated backstory, but to each his own. :)

The reason Dennis didn't want to ask for help is something to be said for today's people :P. But the thing is, considering he's a diesel shunter, would he really be capable of going that fast? I don't know much about his class, so I'm not entirely sure on that.

11001 really goes at 36mph but to be honest, I don't know much about Thomas' basis speed limit, but looking at 'Thomas and the Trucks', Thomas' basis is good for short distance trips and judging from the map between Vicarstown to Wellsworth, it's not really good for him, considering that the E2 were factually an unsuccessful basis. Sure some can say that he had modifications when he came to Sodor, but we don't know that. But I consider it to be a good story to showcase the moral that you must learn before you act. The same is applied to Dennis' story here, despite the unrealistic nature, it's here to tell the story and its moral.

+NWR1991 well I think its clear to see that Thomas was modified as he is slightly boxier than a regular E2 (although in the railway series he seemed the same length) not to mention that he looks like a hybrid between a Ninth and an E2. But that's just my opinion :P

Agreed on that part. Realism doesn't always play in a story.

Cait Dunning thomas the tank engine Thanks for the comment. On railways when it comes to branch lines with no turntables, engines can pull trains from either end.
