Came across this video a couple of days ago, You must have improved your casting a lot lately Bruce, since you now easy can cast the same distances as we norwegians are doing when standing in knee deep water. By the way, in the norwegian spey casting championships two weeks ago, four casters casted over 200 feet in the 15' spey competition in knee deep water.

Love your enthusiasm for spey casting and I have noticed that your casting has improved a lot. Listen to Bruce, he knows what he is talking about, but don't belive everything he says :-)

Is Bruce using a gaelforce rod in this shot? Seems like one.

Tones of info from only watching and not also carefully listening Tim. From the top and bottom hand grip different positions and power timing from caster to caster to achieve same goal. Even Richard it looks it must be 6’ plus the rod looks like a Switch rod on his hands 😳 I believe is same rod and line? Thank you so much for the time and sharing. Again to much info to only be watched once!! 👌👌👌
@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins5 жыл бұрын
yup! same rod! thanks for watching multiple times!

Hi. Must correct a couple of things Jarle, Geir and Tommy are 6’1”. Vidar is 6’6”. We have water up to our “balls” when we do SOR rules. We don’t do the snake roll the way Bruce say we do 😂😂

Hi Tommy, thanks for the comment. I appreciate the view! Tight lines!

Line Speed Jedi . . . deliberately went to Trail for a lesson from Bruce. Booked off 2 weeks to deliberately grasp longbelly. Over the 2 weeks, Bruce went out of his way to accommodate me for 3 lessons and he put me in touch with a very special individual who has a great grasp on Spey to help tutor me. Now I can say I’m off and running.

Thank you for the video. What article has Bruce referred to? Could you share it?
@brucekruk39865 жыл бұрын
Andrey Rudkov I believe what your asking about is my reference to the book Fine and Far Off by Jock Scott. It’s a older book so you will have to search the web for it Cheers

I wish it were possible to see him doing the casts. Are there videos of Bruce Kruk casting? What is the style of casting he is doing there?
@5andjiggs5 жыл бұрын
Great video hopefully one day I may cast like that!

you will be amazed at how well you can cast if you dedicate time to practice! The best advice I ever got? Cut off your fly, stand in one place and practice casting!

I love these guys...i could watch them all day...but...but you don't finish out...what length of you rod..how long , how heavy your leader...what lure are you working..if you can show your fly...we can give our attention to the stream to our rod but a bit bit of confidence in the lure at hand would be a wee bit of a help

Water depth matters
@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins3 жыл бұрын
Yes it does! Separates the men from the boys! I’ll do a long line video in deep water. May require heavy editing!
@janusz.panicz5 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything Bruce Kruk says here. That's exactly the way I teach my students. With regard to the snake roll I strive to be inline with the center of the circle (the first roll).
@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins5 жыл бұрын
Janusz Panicz thank my friend. So great to have you watching and commenting!
@brucekruk39865 жыл бұрын
Janusz Panicz the longer the line the easier the cast is by my description. The short lines let you get away with the smaller movements 😎
@janusz.panicz5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply Bruce. I always strive to keep my movements compact - no matter the line ;-) But the key element with any length of line but with long belly lines in particular is the lift. Lift is something you cannot speed up. It needs to take as much time as the line needs to unstick from the water. Period. While most people I see casting are making it hard for themselves I choose to make it easy for myself and for my casting. Cheers !!
@brucekruk39865 жыл бұрын
Janusz Panicz definitely agree lift dictates everything that happens afterwards in the cast

Here I found a video of Bruce casting. He starts at about 3:41 but it doesn't look like what I thought it would. Can you comment on the style here? kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6PJmohnrN1ld8k
