This Spey Casting Video contains Single Spey Casting Instructions
1) Point dominate toe across river toward Target.
2)Twist your body so the rest of you (everything but your feet) is facing downstream, rod down, line tight on the dangle
3) Lift rod slow and smooth across your body (not downstream) in a shotgun lift- AllowNO Slack for here on out!
4) Begin sweep by pushing with your bottom hand but for all practical purposes sweep by untwisting your body. Keep your elbows in front of you. Repeat: Sweep by rotating your body, not by swinging your arms.
5) During the sweep rotate fairly slow until you are passing your target at which time you put the bend in your rod by accelerating the sweep.
6) Sweep at the speed necessary to cause your fly and anchor to land in front of you, just upstream from your line of vision to the target.
7) Drift high with both hands after the sweep.
8) Forward cast must be made at the time the line touches down. Slightly before if its your first time with a long spey line.
9) Don't forget to pull with the bottom hand but use both hands in the forward cast.
10) Push off with your back foot and put your weight on your front foot as if stepping into the cast, lean forward and tighten muscles in your and core.
