And by the way, (an afterthought) Korea DPR (Korea del Norte) won the U-20 women WC by defeating Japan in the final. -Korea DPR went undefeated the whole tournament, a very disciplined teamwork with a specific goal in mind: to win, and win they did. This is their third WC trophy at that level. -Japan has to console themselves with being the runner up (for the las two or three versions of the tournament). Japan played great during the tournament, but it seems like the Koreans have gotten on their minds (have their number) and win every time they meet in the big tournament. -USA got the Bronce medal in another exciting game. the win was the product of the resilient and desire to win of a team full of talent but not much tactical superiority. Nevertheless, individually they were much stronger than anyone else. -Netherland (fourth place) was a surprise, there were better teams in the tournament, but they got there with a very savvy and thrifty game: did the necessary to stay on games and took advantage of the other team mistake and it work out nicely for them. _Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Spain (for different reasons) are in debt with their fans; these are strong teams that stumbled along the way. a) Mexico # 1 goalkeeper Got injured a week before the tournament and it showed during games. b) Spain grouping was not favorable to them plus lack of bench depth. c)Brazil look formidable but as usually happens with them: they shock when it counts...I insist is a mental thing that goes beyond football...if you don't believe me ask the Frenchy team...they know one or two things about it. Colombia, they were the bigger loser (my opinion). They were set up nicely to win it. it was tailor made for them: they could not live to the expectation on them: big disappointment. Big Winner. The Colombian fans, their support during the tournament, and even their team was out of contention, we still have a full stadium in the final. BIG THANK TO THEM.

I give to Kansas City, they were skidding down the hill, but they took measures to it. 1- goalkeeping, they got Schultz. 2- They are working in defense (addressing the issue). they really want to win this year. 3- They made their point against the Spirit. Sure, the Spirit were without their key players but that is not Kansas City problem. Kansa City problem is to win, and they won...Bravo.

Washington Spirit is a good team, but their chances of winning the trophy this year are gone. Like Darian said, "their fire power is gone." Cliff, Hatch, Silano are good utilities players but no more. Now, Metayer, Morris, Santos and the back line is great; keep then ready for next year. Kingsbury is not bad, but she looks very regular this year, maybe she realizes her chances of USWNT chances are sleeping away and she's not motivated anymore.

To be fair to Sandra, I watched the Palace match live on the new WSL KZbin channel and they were just not able to keep Tottenham from showing how good at taking chances they were. Spurs lost a game like it in the FA Cup final, yet got there by learning to beat top teams. Palace need to learn that too, but fast.
