You need to report this person to their landlord. With the cockroaches it’s creating an unsafe living conditions for other tenants. You also can’t throw bio-waste in the garbage. I don’t know why she can afford McDonald’s delivery but can’t afford a mattress. The best thing you can do for this person and the neighbors who have probably been dealing with cockroaches for months because of her is report her. She needs actually help.

As a criminal defense and family lawyer, I see many people in their very worst moments. I have learned that many people simply lack basic living skills. Then bad situations snowball and it gets too overwhelming to even start. I had a client that had filthy children and DCFS was called in. They were about to take her children away. I simply asked her why the children were never clean. I finally figured out that she had no clue that they needed to be bathed. I taught her how to do that by putting the 3 small children in the tub together. She also did not know about female reproduction and menstruating. No one had ever taught her. No one. Here I was helping a 20 yo woman how to track her periods and use birth control. Over the next few months I got many resources for her including a housekeeper from the state who came to her house once a week and taught her how to clean and cook and generally keep house. It was a real success story. Everyone thought she was had an intellectual disability. No, she had never been taught. She read on a very low level but somehow had a hs diploma. There are lot of people slipping through the cracks out there. Thank God for people like Barbie.

I know a woman with 140 IQ who has similar living skills plus animal hoarding. Knows how to clean, has the ability to clean, but has lived the majority of her life living with an elderly aunt who did everything for her, including raising her daughter, managing and maintaining her roadside zoo, and enabled a helplessness driven lifestyle. Elderly aunt passed away this last year and the home went to absolute trash. This woman and her daughter are about to lose their home over it, have lost all of their zoo animals and pets to the authorities but live in an absolute state of delusion that they are being victimized. These situations can have multiple root causes and have little to do with intellect. Overindulgence is often a worse form of abuse than neglect.

I deal with ADHD, chronic pain & depression. If she will look at where her trash piles up…the cans with food residue especially, those are good spots for trash cans. Even if there are 2 trash cans in the kitchen, that will make cleaning easier. Yeah most people dont have 2 or 3 trash cans in the kitchen, but your place should work to your traits. Then put reminder in phone calendar or just a note by the front door to remind self to take trash out on a certain day. Doesn’t matter what day of the week you choose. Just pick one. Also I find it helps me to remind myself in the reminder that it will only take about 5 minutes to do it. Also to think about how good I will feel that I got it done. As you get more on top of it, you may want to gradually reduce the trash cans. It wont be a struggle to get to the trash can as time goes on. If you live in a situation where you have anxiety about taking the trash out…maybe it’s fear of crime or even just general anxiety about running into people, consider options like asking a friend or neighbor to take your trash out. If you have trouble asking for help, it’s ok to let people know you are trying to heal & you don’t intend to ask them to do it forever. Also it is a blessing to others to help you. I know I’d feel good helping you. Hugs

Top tip for a blocked toilet, is loads of washing-up liquid, very hot water but not boiling because you don't want to crack the cistern. You pour the liquid into the toilet, half a bucket of hot water if it will allow, and let it sit for about half an hour for the liquid to work its magic. Plunge the toilet to mix it up then another bucket of hot water, which usually worked a treat. My old toilet was a nightmare for blocking, and this hack never failed me.I hope this will help anyone with a blocked toilet👍 You have done a wonderful job. 🤩

You deserve a Good Deed Gold Medal and so much more for taking care of this person's home. I hope that they are getting the help that they need to live a more clean life. I noticed that they had pets too, how sad for them all. Prayers for them all and you for the hard work that you do!

I love your non judgmental attitude toward your customers. I also love how you never scoff of give up no matter how nasty the job gets . That toilet was heroic! What brand of respirator is that ? Is it comfortable? I’m always on the hunt for a soft , flexible nosepiece in a respirator that doesn’t leave your face all dented at the end of the day . Thank you ! Looks AMAZING 🤩

Barbie, you are wonderful, thank you for what you do for others. An easy and usually good drain cleaner is 1: bicarbonate of soda, someties called bicarb. 2: vinegar 3: boiling water. I put this down all my drains about every 2-3 months and I have never had a blocked drain. Tyank you again for what you do.

I have to say u go above and beyond!!! My momma started her own cleaning business years ago as well and i have went to help her on some jobs and there have been times we had to wear suits, masks booties and gloves bc of the mess in the bathroom and kitchen a lot like this but had 5 cats and 1 dog fecies and pee everywhere the amonia smell was so strong i couldnt breathe the first time i walked into there my mom was used to it but not myself, she said once she did a house with the onia smell and when she finished she left and was sick to her stomach all night long after that she never went again without proper attire...so yes i would def keep yourself safe...you did fantastic job!!!

hi Barbie, I live in another country, I like your videos and in general what you do, the story with the toilet shocked me, I came across this and I’ll tell you how we solve this problem, take a plastic bottle, cut off the bottom, and use it instead of a plunger, it works, it is elastic and goes further) good luck❤😊
@johnkelly945110 ай бұрын
wow, we will keep this method in mind for future use (and a plastic bottle too) Willing to try everything until something works. ty

@ 21:38 i see a mattress & box spring, looks like it needs cleaning then put a mattress cover on it. That toilet needed a "snake" and not Draino. The blockage was farther in the pipe. You should do an update on the situation.

I just discovered your channel through Midwest Magic Cleaning. What you guys do for these people in need is so amazing. I cried watching this because it reminded me of how my own home used to be when I was younger. I have depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and I might also be autistic. My home would sometimes be almost as bad as this one. People would try to help me clean, but (1) they made me feel so ashamed that I wouldn't ask for help again and (2) I felt so guilty when it inevitably went back to being as bad as it was before they helped. However, I was always grateful for the help because trying to do it all myself was just too overwhelming. Sometimes after they helped, I could manage to keep it clean for awhile. Eventually, over several years and with lots of therapy, I finally made it to the point where I can manage housework on my own. It's far from perfect, but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. This also reminded me of a person I met a few years ago. I had taken on a second job at Volunteers of America, working with people who have mental and developmental disabilities. There was one guy in particular who had severe health issues and also suffered from depression. His home looked almost exactly like this, especially his kitchen. Part of my job at the time was inspecting the apartments these people lived in and helping them clean whenever possible. I absolutely hated the inspecting part because to me, it just reinforced the idea that they were "lazy" to the management, which I knew was not the case because I'd been where he was mentally. I gladly helped this guy clean whenever I could. He told me something I'll never forget--he said that I was the only worker there who had ever treated him like a human being and didn't judge him based on the state of his apartment. That memory still brings tears to my eyes. I ended up quitting that job because I unfortunately couldn't handle the stress that came with it. It was damaging my own mental health, which wasn't that great to begin with. A while later, I was devastated to learn that the man passed away shortly after I'd quit. I still think about him a lot. Thank you, Barbie, for doing what you do. You make such a huge difference in these people's lives. You and MMC both are amazing.
