Hi. A couple of questions.1) How did you pull the side pillar cover off when wiring it? This part was not featured in your installation video. 2) Why did some of your footage have your hood visible and some did not? 3) You paid $60 - ? The current price is $84, I paid $80 plus tax. 4) Where do you buy the rear cam that you mentioned? 5) Is there something with a battery that would work whilst the car is parked that you wish that you purchased instead. @@zenlightworks14 1. I didn’t pull it off, I just tucked it underneath it. For whatever reason I forgot to press record during that part. Although it looks firm, it’s pretty flexible on most cars 2. That’s just the angle of the dash cam. When I take it in and out I sometimes put it facing more up/down. I did it purposely on the video so you could see the different options 3. I’m assuming the price went up from popularity? 4. The rear cam comes in a bundle with this camera. You may choose that version or the version that only comes with the front cam 5. I personally don’t think I’ll ever need a parking cam, but there are many power banks you can buy to accommodate this, or you can add that to the bundle as well. If you go to Amazon you’ll see what I mean. There should be an option for the rear cam, an option for the parking mode, etc etc Hope this helped! And just a warning, it’s been a few months since I’ve checked on these things so the price as well as the options could have changed. But hopefully that points you in the right direction

@@zenlightworks14 Hmm they must have changed it. Besides the one that was at one point part of the kit, I don't know much about the external batteries. Sorry And I prefer the hood in the frame. The way I see it, something or someone is most likely to hit the hood, so I need in the frame. My advice would be to adjust it when at a red light. Make sure you can see the stop light fully, but make sure you can also see the front of your car!

I put a 400GB Sandisk Ultra into my Viofo A119 and it works!!! had to format it first on my PC and then with the camera but now I can have days of recording. When you travel on a long trip it is not only the accidents you want to capture but the trip itself or interesting parts of it. Since you dont want to stop the trip and download all the videos before they get to be overwritten on the smaller SD card, this size is perfect until you came back from your trip and have time to download all the good parts of the card. I also use only 1080P resolution which gives me a ton of space and since most TVs or players do a good job upscaling to 4K I am happy with the picture too. One more thing, when I take my car for a regular service I connect the camera into the battery pack and it records continuously during the service. They dont realise this but I can see AND hear the whole service and mechanics conversation after the service. They cannot tell me they spent so many hours on the job if the car was sitting in the yard half of the "working" time...

the hard wiring kit has a limiter to prevent battery drain. also you can easily adjust the camera lens if you move the unit into the black dots with the camera peaking down. you don't really have a problem with people seeing it cause of your tint. that clear sheet is a static sheet (similar to the oil change sticker) to help prevent damaging window tint and it is reusable. excellent set of videos and recently picked up the mini 2 and full setup can be done in an app.

How good is the dash cam reading license plates? No body talks about reading license plates.

As of right now, there's no dash cam that is decent to capture a clear shot of the license plate due to its wide angle, low framerate, etc especially in the low light condition. I believe if you check Linus Tech Tips and Vortex Radar channel, they both done license plates capture through many different brands.

Viofo a119 v2 ranked number 1 by Linus Tech Tips and many other reviews in terms of video quality among the entry level dashcams. So I guess a119 v3, a119 mini (v4) and a119 mini 2 (v5) are equally good. a119 mini 2 actually use the generation 2 sensor so it is even better. a119 mini 2 also support wifi 5Ghz and has a mobile app that works with it. I got one 2 weeks ago and it looks great.

I have the version with wifi that connects to the Viofo app and it does make everything easier. I have had this cam for 5 weeks and last week I noticed that it was not recording hazards. The folder containing locked files had none. The way I resolved this was to reformat the card and so far so good.

4:44 Instead of browsing thru those settings with cam mounted thru the gps on the windshield, try to charge it with separate usb cable connected to free or the same charging usb port. It's been a year since you posted this video, so maybe you already changed the cam or figured different method that suits You.

I've been doing a lot of research the last few days before I settled on the Heaboli HP-88. Most of these 'entry" level cams the advertise 4K are misleading. If you check the meta data from your recorded videos, they are at 1080p and upscaled to 4K. The '4K' frame rate is also limited to 30 fps while some provide 60 fps in 2K mode. As clear as the videos appear you'll notice it's very hard to make out the license plate numbers until up close and nearly at a stop. The majority of them are using the same processors by Sony, the IMX335 at only 5 mega pixels. The newer IMX334 processor is only marginally better. It is hard to find true 4k and 2K dash cams recording at 60 fps. I still find value in a dash cam, but what I found is that you should not waste your money on any that cost north of $150 as there is really nothing different between the $70 and the $300 cam's internals, except great advertising. If you have tge GPS module, date and time are taken from the GPS signal. You don't have to set it manually... just set your time zone, and you're done.

Run a usb dongle from the glove compartment to an empty 10amp fuse slot. Run the camera usb to the glove compartment. Buy a cheap power bank. Connect usb from fuse to power bank. Connect usb from dashcam to power bank. You’ll have your camera running constantly even after your car has been shut off and it wont kill your car’s battery since the dash cam will be running from the power bank

@@hailyphan7754 that’s very true. I was worried about catching license plates when I was looking but I started to realize it was more fear related than anything. Since my dash records audio, if something were to happen, I would simple just read out the plate number. And as far as insurance, unless if a car hit me and then ran, there would be no need for me to have the license plate number. And as long as I have the incident on video, I would be covered (plate number or not)

I installed 4 in my cars, (kids me and wife) and they all SUCK. They all keep changing settings and going into sleep mode. I do NOT recommend this dash cam. O, I did put the highest rated SD card into all of them, updated the software ext ext ext. I did everything right, the cameras are just cheap.
